Huge sales on at Amazon & the local Virgin (and probably other places too) at the moment, so I'm taking the opportunity to build up a DVD collection (since at the moment it consists of 4 DVDs) - but I can't think of what to get, and I'd like to get suggestions to find new stuff that I haven't seen before - what should I buy? What's crap?

I know I can trust your collective wisdom, honest, yes...wisdom, that's the word...:D Thanks!

The Shawshank Redemption :)

Failing that, anything Disney ;)

Thanks to the sales, I recently purchased:

Happy Gilmore (£3!)
Dodgeball (£3 also!)
The Mask: Special Edition
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
V for Vendetta (never seen it, thought it might be worth a try)
DOA (not seen it yet but it's Holly Valance kicking ass so it must be good, right?)
The Big Bottom Box Set (all five live shows, plus Guest House Paradiso and the best of Bottom live. I've no idea why that last disc is included but the entire thing is less than £25. Absolute bargain.)

If I only recommend one to add to a collection it'd be WFRR?. They really don't make 'em like this any more. Still amazing almost twenty years on.

I'll be getting a lot more Jim Carrey films for my collection. Saw Bruce Almighty, Liar Liar and Ace Ventura again the other day and had just forgotten how good he was. The Cable Guy will probably be my next purchase. :)

Unleashed aka Danny the Dog, watched it last night. Brilliant. Bob Hoskins, Jet Li and Morgan Freeman.
