Thanks to a cold and not feeling like doing much, I've been enjoying watching a few films in bed the last few nights which is a very rare thing for me.
I could do with a recommendation next though :D

In the last two nights I've watched Casino Royale, Layer Cake and some Star Trek film because it happened to be on TV.

I'd say I'd prefer a thriller or action film, but one with a bit of intelligence in preferably. My main problem is my attention span's dodgy with films so I've been lucky in that both Casino Royale and Layer Cake really kept my attention but i do half wonder if that was due to the leading man :embarassed: ;D Part of it was definitely because I thought they were good films ;)

Anyway, what would you suggest next?

And I apologise in advance if I just randomly go 'bleh no' or 'seen it', I'm a bit picky with films :embarassed:

Lock, Stock.. or Snatch are pretty obvious suggestions (on the off-chance you haven't seen them) if you enjoyed Layer Cake but The French Connection is also pretty decent. Just looking through some more of my film collection - Snake Eyes, The Long Good Friday, Assault on Precinct 13 (original) and Get Carter are all good thrillers with a police/gangster theme.

Slightly more randomly I'd also suggest Children of Men which I watched the other night and was pretty entertaining albeit the premise was a bit far-fetched. District 13 (Banlieue 13) is definitely worth a look if you like parkour or just plain entertaining films, the Irish dubbed accents are amusingly aw(e)ful though. Hopefully you'll find one in there you like, all should be easily available but if not just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do. :)

Oh dear you might hate me already :(
I've seen all of them bar the last two.

However I'd forgotten about Children of Men, I remember when it came out that it looked quite interesting so I think that'll be watched sometime in the coming days. :)
Not heard of District 13 but having had a quick look on IMDB it looks quite interesting so I'll have a look for that.

Don't watch Revolver, it's rubbish. Shame as Lock Stock and Snatch were great.

It's terrible :( The only film I've ever considered walking out of.
Even my ex thought it was terrible and he thought 2fast2furious was amazing :/

Ah well it only cost me about £4 and I hate not to have the sequels to movies :embarassed: But still, it is a giggle to watch and I did say most of the movies on that list, not all :p

(I stand by Armed & Fabulous though!)

I bought Short Circuit 2 the other day for £3. It's worth, like, double that at least! It's so awesome that it's the only film I can think of right now.

Yeah, a plane might have been risky :p
Or at least only deserved of a truly terrible film :D

I just bought Enduring Love from play.com for £4.99. Looks quite good although creepy, Rhys Ifans stalks Daniel Craig in it.
It'll be extra creepy because I work with a guy in Swansea who looks just like Rhys Ifans.
My Mum said it's good though. :)

......and it's got someone in it?? There's a particular theme I'm sensing here. One that can be instantly understood by a quick blast of this. (http://www.badasszebedee.com/kittenblog/Daniel%20Craig.jpg)

*nods* :D
I'm ill, it helps me feel better ;D

And oh if I could find that picture big enough to make it a desktop background ;D

I just watched Vanilla Sky again, what an amazing film, I highly recommend it.

The fact it has two beautiful women in it (three if you include Tilda Swinton) has of course NOTHING to do with it

Love that film. Love the music, the story, the twists, and Penélope Cruz.

Vanilla Sky's a great film :) Saw it a few years ago so I think I'll watch it again soon.

Saw Enduring Love Friday night and it was really good. Tense in places and had some great camera work and use of music. Much recommended from me. :)
I've yet to see Children of Men as it's not with me at the moment but I will do in the week.

I watched it a couple of months back and it was really rather uncomfortable viewing, the premise is a bit stupid although decently enough acted however when it got to 'that scene' all the blokes in the room were actually squirming.

Another vote for Children of Men, it's one of the best films I have seen in a very long time. It's well acted and absolutely beautifully shot. I was totally immersed in it from beginning to end, the sort of film where you forget you are watching a film (well apart from one tiny moment that hopefully they may choose to fix in a dvd version at some point!). Just make sure you aren't watching it when you think everything is wrong in the world as it has a lot of quite sovering and shocking moments in it. I would recommend it to anyone though :)

Nope, don't know anything about it in fact. Have to stick it on my list :)

If you dont mind the subtitles, watch the original - Open Your Eyes (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0125659/) - which Penelope Cruz also starred in. I much preferred that story without the Hollywood gloss for some reason. Might have something to do with seeing this version first though, before Vanilla Sky.

I'll see if I can find it for you and you can take it this weekend :)

That'd be great thanks :)

Heather and I watched this tonight and we both enjoyed it very much, I#m sure Hugh Jackman had no influence on Aitch's enjoyment ;)

Ahh my parents saw that at the cinema last week (art cinema type thing, no Wales aren't that slow on 'proper' cinema releases :p) and said it was really good. I can't decide if it's my sort of thing though but probably worth it at some point.

Its a thriller and a mystery, the sets are amazing there some insight into how magic tricks are performed and its very well acted with a good cast and story, to be honest I'd watch it again and I don't say that about many films, definately a very cool movie. I think you'd like it Jen.

Well finished The Pursuit Of Happiness last night and thought it was very good. The cast were excellent and it was moving to see him almost breakdown in the cave and then the emotion at the end.

Highly recommended.

BBx - we have the prestige to watch at some point.
