Blimey, I'm not up to date on TFT's but it does seem a bargain :)

Which 22" did you buy Huddy? My "future" brother in law is dead set on getting a 22" and i need to get him off the idea that a 20" is sharper.

I bought the Samsung 225BW.. Lovely looking screen but I wasn't happy with the qaulity. My 19" CRT monitor is by far better superior looking as far as image quality is concerned.

You could see jaggered edges in games such as CoH even with 4x AA. I just didn't look right. I was gutted as it was months of research down the pan. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it developed a PSU fault and or friends from the other side refunded it after RMA. However, it's left me feeling somewhat disappointed. I was reading the sticky by Baddass and he stated that it is tough coming from a quality CRT. So i guess my expectations are too high but as i said elsewhere, at £340 may I should be.

My attention has turned to the 20" models as i've had confirmed by my friends over at Custom PC, that the 22" models DO degrade the image quality and 20" panel have a tighter definition at 1600x1050. Since both share the same native resolutions, the 22" has to fill the panel.

I'm looking at this model and may even take the plunge. If it's no good I can always sell it on.

May be you could suggest a decent but not too expensive Camera ;)

Camera ? £300 ish i'd get the Canon G7, if its less then i'll have to do a little more research. I usually like the A series Canon cameras, they are always very good for the money but a little bulky for the pocket.

It's too late for him now, between my last post and yours, he's bought the 22" Samsung ! Oh Well, he's coming from and 15" TFT so no doubt it'll look much better.

I know about the stretched/enlarged pixel thing so thats why i only got a 20" widescreen IPS panel.

The philips 20" ? Yeah, very happy, its sharp, great colours (not just vibrant, but also true), awesome viewing angles. What it is missing is component input, but thats no biggie, i don't have anything to use that feature at the moment.

Bum!

Oh well, I wanted a silver one anyway.

I bought the Dell FPW2005 just over a year ago and after a few faulty replacements (backlight bleed) I went and bought an Eizo S2110W+ the quality difference between it and the dell was amazing...one of the best purchases I have made for my PC. It definately ranks up there with the Diamondtron 19" flat CRT I had.
