A question: Could I buy points from ebay.com (in $), and use the codes over here without any bother? Or has that been thought about?

I would have thought it'd be possible. Not tried but I know the Live subscriptions from the US work here, so don't see why not.
Someone else might have a more certain idea about it though. :)

I'm sure I read you cant use points cards from another country, although I may be mistaken.

The sub codes are region free though, as Haly said.

Edit - says so on the left of this page...

I cant see anything on the auctions saying they're region locked, but I'm not taking that as confirmation.

That's weird that they region lock one but not the other.
Pity, it'd be cheap.

What cards are you looking at?

I think the reason they are locked is because in different regions you get different amounts of points e.g. in the US I think the max amount of points you can get on a card is 1600, whereas here its 2100, due to exchange rates
and trying to make sure the consumer is getting the same money/points ratio as everywhere else.

Suppose that makes sense, but as I'm in the better country for the exchange rate, I don't like it anyway :p
