View Full Version : E-Mail clients
I'm looking for an e-mail client that besides the regular basic features, I really want one that's possible to minimise to the system tray.
Anyone know one that does that?
Thanks in advance :)
Whereabouts?
I had a brief look but couldn't see the option. Although thinking of switching away as tbh it's overkill for what I use it for.
Edit: Ahh found it :) Was looking for options in the program rather than the system tray icon.
Thanks Feek :)
Any other programs that do it?
Windows live mail desktop
Ive been on the beta and been very happy with it
Is that different to Windows Mail dude? :)
Sure is

BTW if the Ads on the right piss you off give me a shout ...we can sort that !!!
I tell ya, MS have their fingers in so many beta pies at the moment it's hard to keep track! One for a VM, thanks :)
Hmm not that keen on the Windows Live stuff for some reason, can't stand the look of Windows Live Messenger etc. Plus it looks a bit like I might as well just stick with web mail than set up with that. But I'll keep an eye on it :)
Guess I'll stick with Outlook for now then.
Outlook is the best email client I've used without a doubt, if quite feature bloated. I like to keep an eye on these things though, being a geek and all :D
That makes perfect sense :) I'm just trying to keep this PC fairly lean so only installing things when I'm certain I'll use it a fair bit. It's laziness really :p
Outlook's great, it just seems a bit extragavent for my needs. But if it's the best tool for the job, I'll stick with it. :)
It's laziness really :p
It's smart, and I do the same thing. Which is why I keep virtual machines to take the punishment ;)
I'll take smart over lazy anytime :D
I really want one that's possible to minimise to the system tray.
Are you aware of TrayIt (http://en.softonic.com/ie/32372/TrayIt!)? You can use it to minimise any application to the system tray. Email wise i've not used a proper client for years. These days I access my mail from so many different machines that webmail is ideal for me.
Ooh didn't know about that. Might be handy for other apps as well :D Thanks :)
Thunderbird will do it either via the app itself, or with an extension :)
Thunderbird is a distinct possibility, I used to use it and quite liked it.
But then again I'll probably just stick with Outlook until the next time I format. I'll see over the next few weeks as I have more time. :)
