I don't believe Sony will give it up so I suspect they might be doing it to build up some hype before bidding a higher amount to secure it. But I can but hope :p

If it goes to the 360 (I'm assuming that's where it would go alongside the PS3) then I don't have to bother with a PS3. :D

I think with all the recent news it could just be a rumor. Ace Combat, DMC4, GTA4 all jumped and there are other rumors. Tis the season for them. It would be great if they did multi-platform FF. I guess the reason why they wouldn't jump could be because of 360 sales in Japan?

I'm not even sure it's fair to call it a rumour yet. 'Exclusivity under discussion' could be interpreted a couple of ways I guess.

They might end up with a GTA: Vice City kind of deal, exclusive to the PS3 for X months then we'll see it on the 360. With the way the 360 has become hugely popular in Europe and the US (where it outsells the PS3) I wouldn't be surprised if we see it on the 360 at some point.
