View Full Version : Anyone got a Logitech G15?

I really like the look of the G15. My Nostromo N52 is the only bit of hardware I've got not supported properly by Vista x64 and I'm missing the programmable keys so the G15 seems like a logical replacement for my current keyboard.

The only downside is that I currently have, and have had for years, a natural keyboard.

Shame there's not a natural version of the G15.

But has anyone got one, what's it like after extended use?

I have a G11, which is the same keyboard as the G15. My housemate has a G15 and I can confirm it is identical in every way bar the screen in actual real-world use.

It was the only keyboard that I found that lived up to the bar set by my now deceased Internet Navigator. The wrist rest isnt as nice (its a bit low really) and I have a funny feeling the silvery finish probably wont last as long as the finish did on the Internet Navigator (which became really smooth and therefore shiny where I rest my hands) but other than that, its really rock solid...

The ONLY bad thing that I can say about it is that it uses the USB connection to illuminate the bl00 keys (which can be turned off and has a slightly dimmer setting, too) and so the two USB ports on the back are denied true usability as they cannot supply enough juice to power all but the most meagre of USB devices. They are also USB 1.1 (well, I get a popup when I connect my pendrive to tell me to move it to a USB2 port, so I guess it must be?) but for what I use them for, it doesnt particularly bother me.

In all, a very worthy keyboard :)

I have one on my gaming rig. I find it comfortable to use and the keys are responsive when gaming. I like the LCD screen which displays information about media and resources used and the volume wheel is a useful thing.

I like it.

I've just bought one as I slapped my N52 on eBay. One thing I really like the look of is the addon for Teamspeak so I can see who's talking in the window.

Means it'll be my first non-natural keyboard for more years than I can remember so I hope I'll be OK with it.

Hmmm...I want one. I have an Ultra-X at the moment...but I've just spilt coffee on it so no doubt it'll be all sticky underneath the keys.

OMG, it's great but the actual keyboard bit seems very small and uncomfortable to type on.

That sounds like a contradiction, but it's not. I love the display, it's showing me what I want to know (clock atm, but it works with Ventrilo!) and the programmable keys are great, it's just getting used to going back to a smaller non natural keyboard.
