You would think that game designers would give you a little bit of a treat for finishing their game.

I finally finished Quake4 after many (far too many) hours of gameplay and was most disappointed by the ending.

It would be nice to have a spectacular cutscene at the end rather than something pathetic like I got here.

The ending of Unreal II was slightly better but nothing spectacular.

It would be nice to have your efforts awarded with some sort of display of the awesome graphics these designers can produce, rather than some pathetic, veiled trailer for the next game in the series.

/Rant over.

Stan :)

If you want a horrible ending, play Medal of Honor:Allied Assualt, it was simply a black screen with "The End" written on it. I'm convinced they simply ran out of money or time and had no option but to put that in.

Indeed. I was storming through it and it stopped me from playing any games full stop for ages, such was the annoyance I felt when I got to the end. Absolutely disgraceful.

Still, the online play was pretty good :)

I remember feeling a bit lost after completing Call of Duty 2 but I think that was more because I was so engrossed in it, that once I'd completed it, I felt a bit 'Now what do I do?' :embarrassed:

I'm fairly crap at completing games (either through lack of skill or because I get bored halfway through) so at least I don't get disappointed too often. ;D

I just bought it on STEAM for about ten dollars, it's downloading now. Never played it, never heard of it and so therefore I've bought it on the strength of comments in this thread...

Deus Ex is a fantastic game :) Hopefully it's aged well.
I've still got my cd copy (Albeit 170 miles away from me atm) and often dig it out for a game. Think I paid £35 for it originally and it was well worth every penny.

In my opinion it's the second best game of all time on the PC, only beaten by Mafia (which was immense and deserves to be played by everyone who owns a PC) :)

The graphics are dated, but only to be expected given its based on the original Unreal engine. The first mission or two can drag on a bit, but if you give it some slack you'll soon get pulled in :)

The first mission drags on a bit whilst you get used to the surroundings and interface - as soon as you go to Hell's Kitchen, you're in for the best experience to be had on a PC as far as gaming goes. I loved every second of it... the only thing I hate about it is that it had to end :(
