Gameplay have some offers on at the moment when you buy something 360 related - including the Live Arcade Unplugged pack for about £6. So I ordered some MS points (as I needed some anyway) and got them together with the arcade pack for ~£20 - splendid!

The games:

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved
# One of the most popular games on Xbox Live Arcade, get ready for an intense space shooter with a frenetic, high-def twist. Play the original "Retro" version or a new "Evolved" mode.

Wik: Fable of Souls
# A beautifully mysterious world of fairytale charm unfolds as you swing by your tongue through 120+ levels and seven modes of play, including same-console multiplayer!

Bejeweled® 2
# This addictive puzzle game offers exciting new challenges with the addition of explosive Power Gems and the Hyper Cube, making it even more addictive than ever before!

Outpost Kaloki X
# Solve challenges, entertain visiting aliens, and rake in the money in this light-hearted space station tycoon game filled with clever characters and wacky storylines.

Hardwood Backgammon
# Play this classic game against the computer, against a friend on a single console, or against on online opponent. Use the doubling cube to bring you even closer to victory!

Texas Hold 'Em
# Simulate the tournament setting right in your home, and feel like you are in Las Vegas. Use the Xbox Live Vision camera to put your face on your digital online character!
Anyone know what Fable of Souls is like? Any of the others particularly good? :)

I've played the demo of Outpost Kaloki X and quite liked that so looking forward to playing that some more. Quite pleased overall as I dont have any of them.

Geometry Wars is the best Live Arcade game by a mile IMO. It's my most played game according to my 360 blog (in terms of days rather than hours). When you start getting into the higher scores the game is mental.

Not played Wik though, despite having the demo downloaded. Will have to give it a try at some point.

Played them all.. wik is a bit wierd... texas hold'em is GREAT for t'interweb play (I'll give you a game ;)) backgammon - fine for a game of a game - but no real benfit over a good old fashioned board.

Getting the achievments on Texas hold'em I hope will cement the rules etc in my head so I can play a little better. I'm just not arsed when I play now and do make calls without really understanding what I should be doing :D

I was never hugely keen on geometry wars :/
Love Bejewelled 2 and Texas Hold Em though :) I'll buy Texas Hold Em once I've got some money.

Been thinking - anyone know how this works? Do I put the disc in and have them all copied to my arcade collection? And if that's so, what's to stop me sharing this disk with all you fine folk and you doing the same?

The way the disc works is quite simple. Rather than install the games to your hard drive or memory unit, they run right off of the disc, but the games show up in your list of available Xbox Live Arcade games, just like the downloaded ones do. It's unfortunate that you can't install the games to the hard drive and toss the disc aside, but then that would probably just lead to people passing the disc around.

Nope, you have to put the disc in every time you want to play them.
