That's nuts...
1 grand's a lot of cash too!
I don't think there is yet any need for that much RAM unless you're talking about big mainframe/server based systems, even then that's obscene! :D
Still that's pretty cool :D
even then that's obscene! :D
Depends what it's doing ;)
8GB's not uncommon even in mid-range servers these days, especially with it being adressable on standard level licensing (with 64bit Windows).
True... probably more likely in the stuff you do and use, for me that would be serious over kill! :D

Got 8gb in this machine.
Had 2x2gb and then bought for another build another 2x2gb - and found it needed DDR2 not DDR *D'OH* so stuck it in this machine instead.
XP64 likes memory. :D

Wasn't that long ago I upgraded from 512 to 1gig :p

RAM runs in the region of 1TB on high end servers at the moment
Crikey! I'm so behind in the times... then again this stuff doesn't really interest me anymore so it's no surprise :p
we are announcing a new storage array shortly with a bandwidth of 136GB/s and a sequential transfer rate of 20GB/s
capacity around 1PB
should be good for storing porn ;D
Dangerous would be interested ;D
