Once he starts, he can't stop

Toast rocks :D Although it is narrowly beaten by Scotch Pancakes.

The only thing that was missing was homemade bread! ;)

I've just had toast myself, but going to have a lovely roast dinner at a friend's house shortly!

Haha :D I just had pocket toast. Its like half the size of normal toast. Fits perfectly in the toaster but its annoying to get out because it fits perfectly in the toaster :D

My toaster has an eject button. You press it down and it pushes the toast up and out. For really small toast, give it a whack and catch it as it flies out! Or watch in dismay as it hits the deck. :/

5 second rule.

I love the way the 5 second rule varies. If you're a student, it's about 20 minutes!

Just to add to this thread, this morning I had some toast with Ardennes Pate. Nah if you are a student its at least 24hrs..... well it was with cold pizza

And considering the state of the average student kitchen floor, the rule shouldn't involve an amount of time but a severity of disposal.

Hmm, Pate. Now I have an option. I'm on a half day today and was going to pop into the chippy for either a kate and sidney or a spam fritter and some chippings. The other option is to get some pate on the way home and make toast.

Yes salt and butter go nicely together :)

Marmalade rocks as does raspberry or strawberry jam...

I once had a whole loaf of bread in one sitting! ;D Fat bastard that I am... Mmmmm toast....

I have kate and sidney with chips, so I recommend kate and sidney with chips. :)

Nope... I often get bread and just dip it in olive oil with a bit of salt and pepper... not quite the same I admit - however I prefer it with balsamic vinegar and olive oil! Yum!

Some people like salt on their toast - it's no different to having salted butter or marmite :p

I had Kate and Sidney with Chippings, it was lovely. Great minds and all that :)

That's the common reaction I get when people see me put salt on toast. Then they try it and realise that up until that time, toast has been unfulfilling. Salt on toast is exquisite. Try it, you won't go back.

Mmm, cheese and bacon oatcakes - Staffordshire variety, not Scottish.

Although 'staple' might be a better word than 'delicacy'

Mel

I don't usually add salt to anything, except when I'm cooking. There's usually enough salt in things. Besides, excess of seasonings is supposedly bad for you.

Go on, try it... You won't be sad, but if you don't try it then you'll forever wonder what you're missing out on.

Just peanut butter... we're out of jam :-(

mmm, just had 4 rounds of toast! I tried an experiment you see. I put salt on one piece, jam on another, peanut butter on one and stilton and Wiltshire ham on the other.

Salted is different I grant you, but when compared to Stilton and Wiltshire ham.......

Nom nom nom...... BUUUUUURP!

Tonight I shall be having tiger bread toast (for I am poorly sick and can't be bothered to make anything else). The choice is with butter and seasoning (seasoning is rock salt/red pepper corns/cinnamon/juniper berries and rosemary all in the same mill) or with strong cheddar cheese and blackcurrant jam.
