I've decided to ditch Gallery2. I hated it. Far too complicated for what I wanted.
I've been playing with a new couple of plugins for Wordpress that allow some really quite nice galleries to be created, it's not live yet but should be soon. *Just moved to the main page - should be working now*
However I've been told that it has some problems on various browsers - I've yet to find any issues on any of the common browsers - it just seems to work nicely.
Anyone fancy taking a 5 min look and seeing if they can find anything wrong?

If all goes well - should be live *and more importantly have more galleries* in a week or so. *see above - now liveish*
Toys used:
Wordpress - latest release
Nextgen Gallery - http://alexrabe.boelinger.com/wordpress-plugins/
Lightbox 2 Wordpress plugin - http://www.4mj.it/lightbox-js-v20-wordpress/

It all works, nice clean lines. I like the style.
It's a bit nitpicky but in the front page you've got an extra 'e'
All money raised from these prints will be donated to the Vulcan to the Sky campaign to return ‘558 to flight and keep here there.
/EDIT - and now i'm getting a 404, going to http://www.sbfphotography.com/ instead shows me a basic page with no styles applied.

Riiight.
Should be working at www.sbfphotography.com now.
My attempt to move it, killed it. :embarassed:
Whoops.

Some of the thumbnails are really pixelated, not been able to pick up a clear pattern as to why it's affecting some pictures worse than others.
/EDIT - looks like its affecting pictures where the aspect ratio has been heavily distorted to fit the square thumbnail format. For some reason the thumbnails of the plane pictures are cropped to fit and haven't distorted whereas most of the others have been stretched to fit.

I've got to go through and re-create all the thumbnails - there was a known problem with the previous versions of the nextgen gallery plugin - it's improving rapidly though.
Will go try it now.
Captions aren't working right either when looking at full size images. Sometimes a photo has the caption from a previous image. My first guess as to what's going on is that not all images have captions and that when you look at one of these images it's showing the caption from the last image you looked at that did have one.

Try those thumbnails.
Any better?
The thumbnails themselves look better but they're now different sizes which is playing havoc with the page layout.
The results aren't consistant so I think the column wrapping is being calculated on the fly and if the images don't load in the same order as they display on the page it all goes wrong.

Quite likely - the only photo's that have captions are the ones from the Vulcan roll out day.
Not sure why thats happening, but as all will have captions eventually should be too much of a problem.

Didn't notice that. Hmmm...
So whats better, correct aspect ratio but cropped to 100x100 or just squished ro resize to 100x100?
Have also put a request into the developer to allow the option to resize to 100x100 with padding.
So if an image resizes to 100x80 it will add 10px of padding top and bottom. :D

Cropped should be ok, the thumbnails only need to give an idea of what the picture looks like.
