Want to change my gamertag!

Pigmo just doesn't sit right for me. I'm not Pigmo, I'm Desmo..always have been online.

Desmo has been taken although it's not being used. Is there ANY way at all to get this? Even by contacting the person, can they free it up in any way?

Or maybe I should just use something else. Maybe "Desmo Live", "Desmo360" or something?

Not overly keen on using numbers like that. Think I might go for Desmo 360 unless I can think of something better.

If the person is willing to give it up, then you could offer to pay for their points expense in changing it (800 or whatever). Risky though, they could just take the points and **** off and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it, if they even agreed to it in the first place. If it's unused you could ask for the Live ID details.

It's probably a good idea to change though. Some multi-player games need unique profiles for each player, and Pigmo covers both of you at the moment. Me and Dee have separate Live ID's for the odd occasions when we're playing together over Live.

I'll throw in an alternative - DesmoUK? The only problem with 360 is that there will inevitably be another console and it wont make sense any more.

When you say ask for the LiveID for Desmo, you mean contact MS and see if they'll free it up?

edit/ Just re-read your post. You mean contact the owner of Desmo and get an email and password and got from there?

Aye. Trouble is your only method of contact is sending a message over Live, and the account hasn't been touched for ages :(

Can I do it on Xbox.com or can it only be done via the 360?

Yeah, the points cost sucks but it's worth it this time.

It's not cheap, but the problem is, if it was cheap or free, how many people would be changing their name every 30 seconds they were bored?

I still reckon you should get one free per year, with each year's Live subscription. Seems reasonable to me and wouldn't cause too many name changes because it'd only be possible once a year for free.
