Not here sadly, 99% of the junk mail is privately delivered. Getting tired of it, its at stupid levels.
Another one (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6252202.stm)

They had another on Monday at a lot of bases that was unannounced as well.
Was that one a 6hr one? I think I heard something about it being because of them wanting to shut a load of main post offices and move them into WHSmiths. If so, then they can keep striking for that reason! The PO "service" round here is bad enough as it is, without moving the main PO into a cupboard at the back of a silly shop.
Yeah - the monday one was an unrelated one - that was more the post office stores and workers rather than the actual postment

Yeah, the Monday one was only small, but it was enought to affect some mail for me.

From the Royal Mail website:
NATIONWIDE INDUSTRIAL ACTION STARTING WEDNESDAY JULY 25th
Royal Mail is hugely disappointed that the Communication Workers Union (CWU) has announced a series of 24-hour strikes over a two-week period beginning at 7pm on Wednesday 25th July 2007 and ending at 12 noon on Wednesday 8th August.
This phase of the industrial action amounts to two further 24-hour strikes which hit different Royal Mail sites at different times.
I think they've had a strike here today as i haven't seen postman walking around and its very rare that i don't get anything in the post especially junk. :/
*Sigh* personally I think the royal mail union should be broken up, its like the RMT. Modernisation costs jobs FACT, in every other industry this has happened. So, what are they proposing then? Royal mail fire no jobs, don't modernise their equipment and way of working and continue to lose money, but pay their workers more?
What they are demanding simply can't happen. For instance I know personally that the sorting machines date back to the 1980's and require a lot of people to keep them going and are generally rubbish. So by upgrading them they can carry on hitting the 1st class post targets with lower cost overheads of staff and machines.
Whine and strike all you want, but when new machines come in replacing some of the need for warehouse staff, what should royal mail do? Keep staff on and have them sit around? Its time that they wake up and realise that nothing has a guarenteed job for life anymore.

oh FFS !!! If you don't like working there f****** leave !
On friday we'll see no mailman on his bike
Cus once again the post's on strike
The greedy bastards want extra pay
For sitting on their arse all day
Even though they earn 30k
So I'm standing here, about to wail
Where the ****'s my ****ing mail?!
