Excellent. Loved every second of it. I haven't seen the original three but if they're what this film tried to follow up on, I'll be seeing them very shortly.

Highly recommended as a film you can sit down in front of for a couple hours and leave fully satisfied that it was a productive use of your time to see explosions one after the other :D

I haven't seen the original three

Go and see them now. I don't care what time it is. Go find a video shop that's open, rent all three, get some popcorn and watch them one after the other. Bloody excellent films :D

I haven't seen the original three
:o.
Ask the majority of people to name the 3 greatest action films of all time and I'd guess 9/10 people would name Die Hard in that list.

It's one of the greatest movies of all time.

Cant wait to see this. Not sure the missus is up for it though so it might be on my own, or maybe with Leon if he's game :D

What are you doing wearing shoes? I didn't think you did that.

Nearly spat out my drink at the shock of you not seeing the original three
I'm a bit unsure about the new one, I loved the first two too much so worried it'll just be a regular action film.

The only bit i wasn't sure about was the F35 and Martin eating all the popcorn :(. Other than that I loved it!

The F35 was the very silly bit but lots of things went bang and fell apart and I giggled

It was better than I thought it would be :) Some bits didn't really feel like a Die Hard film, more just a regular action film but still a hell of a lot better than I thought it'd be, as I thought it'd be total crap and an insult to the Die Hard name :p

Went to see this last night with Piggy, Dimtree and Zirax.

I thought it was a cracking film :D
It got a bit OTT near the end (I won't spoil it by saying what) but overall I came out happy and would deffo recommend you go and see it if you like this type of film.

When I first saw Bruce Willis, all I could think about was Belmit walking around with a bandage on his foot :D

Then for some reason, I wondered why nobody farted in a film. Which then had me in fits of laughter, I was actually crying. Every time Willis wipes out a bad guy, instead of him uttering a one liner, all I could picture was him going PAARRRPPP!!!!, and then walking out of shot ;D

Dunno why I found it so funny. I'm laughing again now.

The same phrase got edited out of the original Die Hard to please the censors and get a better parental rating. I'm sure it'll re-emerge in the DVD form.

It was cut to make it a PG13

Apparently, in the trailer there's a different scene with him saying it - never saw the trailer so don't know.

Shame - imho it could have done with being a 15 and making it closer to the first two.

You sure about that? The original was an 18 so I doubt they were too concerned about how parents felt about one word :p

They should make all these sort of films 18s, they're designed to be gratuitously violent and lots of naughty words!

The first three were, the last one was very obviously toned down to make it a much lower rating.

Will

Does it make it less watchable? Or less fun? What is it a 15?

Feek

Well, yes I think it does, because once one realises that's the case, it just seems toned down and (get this) unrealistic! The previous ones were full of swearing which makes the difference between watching a cop show made for TV where the language is unrealistic to the extreme "ouch, I've been shot, oh deary me, that stings a bit" and watching a movie made for the cinema with language that one would expect to hear "**** you asshole". "mother ****er, kiss my ass".

Plus of course yippie kay yay, motherfu*boom*

I'm not saying that I just want to hear people swearing, I could take a walk through any high street and hear enough of that but in the context of the film, it's expected.

The original Terminator was an 18 when first released, Terminator 2 was a 15 and was done that way so it appealed to a wider audience range and it wasn't really noticeable that it had been done. In this case, compared to the previous three it was very noticeable so yes, it did spoil the enjoyment a tad.

Fantastic explanation - thanks Feek. :) I agree about T2 - it somehow "worked" didn't it? There wasn't that much swearing in the first one, it was just gratuitous violence! ;D
