Feek

A good few years ago, Gillette introduced a twin blade razor with the claim that "The first blade shaves you close, and the second closer still".
Time has passed and we had a three blade, then a four blade razor and Mrs. Feek has just bought me home a new Gillette five bladed razor (six if you count the single trimming one on the other side).
Does that now mean that the first blade shaves you close, and the second closer still, the third takes off the skin, the fourth slices away the muscle and the fifth cuts a sliver off the bone!
I've tried it and I have to say that it's very good, but does it shave any better than the four bladed one? That depends on the definition of 'better'. It's quicker, so therefore it's better as far as I'm concerned. Anything which reduces the time I spend mowing my face is a good thing.
I spoke to my barber about these multi bladed razors a while ago because every now and then I treat myself to a proper barbers shave. He's stopped doing them except for his few remaining regulars because he now feels that a modern razor gives as good a shave as a sharp cut-throat blade.
They're just so bloody expensive for the replacement blades.
