I am late getting a friend a birthday present, last year I got her some GHD's so it's a bit hard to top it therefore i am going to get a one of these brush to compliment it. But i dunno which one to get....

She has long hair and light them straight, what size brush is best. I can show you a pic of her hair if it helps but length wise it goes down to just under her shoulders.

Does it have to be a GHD brush?

Get her a Denman, they are the Porsche of hairbrushes ;)

It doesnt matter if you get her a GHD brush Mondo, I have really long hair and like it poker straight, so I would get her a paddle brush. And then some Tresemme Heat Defense spray as well, its like Ive just walked out of a salon ;)

Paddle brush? so 7.5cm or 9cm will do then i guess, is it the bigger the better?

Paddle brush is the way to go :) I have long straight hair and use GHDs and it's what I use

EDIT: I usually buy from here though, they have it cheaper too. http://www.lookfantastic.com/cgi-bin/lf.storefront/46a64cd901259f2e273fc0a8d00c06bc/Catalog/2090

You mean will it make your hair even lovlier? Yes it will. Also the bristles of a paddle brushes feel really nice on your scalp........ or am I the only one that likes that ;D

Denmans paddle brushes are really good, you can normally get them in boots.

Am I the only person who uses a comb? No brushes in this house :embarassed: My hairdresser told me a long time ago that I shouldn't use a brush on my hair as it would break it too easily, so I only use combs now.

Oooh, big squishy paddle brushes feel lovely on my head ;) Youre not the only one Mubs ;D

And to be fair Kate, your hair is quite fine. My mane is like a chuffing haystack, hence the heat defence/straightening serum/straighteners crap I have to do every time I wash it ;)

Because my hair is so dry and curly I never brush it (Kate Bush from Wuthering Heights video flashback if I do!) and only ever comb it with an afro comb when it's covered in conditioner after getting knots out with my fingers.

I've never tried a paddle

My mind stopped reading there  :embarassed:

As for hair stuff - haven't got a clue - I have a £5 brush from boots and a 50p comb for really bad tangles; no hair driers, straighteners, curlers, umphers, anything.

And here was me thinking that if you wanted a hair brush, you'd go to the shop, stride up to the counter and boldly say "I'd like a hair brush please", but nooooooo.

You appear to have a choice of multiple types and sizes, different bristles and textures and all kinds of complicated stuff.

It's almost as bad as shampoo. I walked into a chemist the other day to buy a shampoo and there were isles and isles of the stuff with all odd things in them, lemon, apple, minty fresh, jojoba. WTF is jojoba? Where Stan and Mubs come from that's the month before november (say it with a Scottish accent and you'll see what I mean).
