Anyone who hasn't seen this on SciFi or downloaded it from the US REALLY should watch it. It's in my top 3 favorite series of the last year.
BBC2 and BBC HD from 9pm. I'm planning on watching it again and have already series linked on BBC HD :) Just wish Sky weren't so ****e and actually broadcast the 5.1 soundtrack :(

I'll be joining you for this
I've not had a decent sci fi fix for quite some time, Sci fi's been a bit crap lately, well for me anyways.
Fingers crossed for a new show i can get in to :)

It's on "Record Series" - As i've few PCs to fix tonight :)
Well the two episodes they showed were OK, but I didn't think it was anything to get too excited about. I'll watch a few more but it needs to get better to drag me in.
I found it very slow at the start. As more and more people are revealed to have powers it does get better though... especially when the bad guys appear.

It is a program you need to stick with at the start.. I think they tried to be a little too clever with how little they reveal about characters such as Nikki at the start.

Colleagues have been going on (and on) about this for the last few weeks, thought it has potential, going to have to watch it... as it stands from those two episodes it could go one way or the other.
I posted the same when I started watching - reasonable start, has potential, and earned another few views at least. Not much later I was hooked :|

Seemed like the normal diluted yanky ****e to me. Characters spread as thin as butter & that Awful Yanky production they use on every show.
Having said that a few of the characters have Immence potential, Ill keep watching it for a few weeks to give an Honest appraisal.

Rumbled :p
Missed this, and the downloads, and Sci-Fi even though I have it. Heard lots about it but didn't have a clue what it was about. Now I do I'll try and catch the repeats Sunday night. Should be a good run - Top Gear Special at 8, classic Bond at 9, then this at 10.55. Dunno if it'll be to my taste but there's only one way to find out.
Oh good, I hadn't realised the Top Gear Special is being repeated, I only saw the last two minutes and it looked excellent.
*downloading Heroes now*

I just watched a couple more - You're right.
Seen the first two now. Going to take some convincing that it's for me but I'll give it another few weeks at least. :)
Mark, episode three had me pretty much convinced and episode four was enough to drag me in to full convinced mode.
Well, three's on Wednesday and the recorder is already on series link, so won't be missing it. :)
Oct 1st 9pm BBC2

BBC HD are showing Heroes S3E2 at 2200 on the 1st at the same time BBC 3 is showing it in SD. As far as I can see neither BBC3 or BBC HD are showing the first episode in HD or SD.

I'm assuming this would have started in the US already?
Series 2 was pretty crap to be honest, but I'll watch it anyway. Lost > all.

I thought lost was terrible after the first series, like Prison Break, a series that should have been one series only and left at that.

Indeed, there's only so long you can escape from a Prison or so long you can be sat on an island.
Lost would have been a much better show for being 2 seasons. Those 2 concepts (PB and Lost) were very limited in their conception, where as shows such as The Shield, Dexter, Entourage etc.. are unlimited in their durations as long as the ideas behind them are fresh.

Yep, Amercians should accept success at the first attempt and leave it as a classic.. rather than kill it.. but they can't.. They have to go overboard and OTT on everything!!

Americans do push things, ironically the one time they didn't was Firefly, which Fox cancelled - the show later went on to win a poll as the greatest TV (or perhaps Sci-Fi) show of all time.
The other obvious case of a great show being cancelled is Arrested Development.

Firefly, which Fox canceled
Fox also cited that it was canceled because the viewing figures were too low to warrant continuing, they also stated before it was canceled that the figures were high despite not having a regular slot. They also showed it out of order, so the characters were never introduced until the second episode.
Greatest superpower in the world 0.o
Get over it, Firefly was crap, it failed as a TV show and it failed as a movie.

Indeed, they also cancelled "Drive", which was the same production team and Nathan Fillion.
Fox also cancelled 'Angel' despite it being the second highest rated show on the network after Smallville (which had just started).
Incredible really.

I'll grab the flaming torches if someone else can grab the pitchforks.
BURN HIM!!!!
The thing with American TV is, if it doesn't make any money then they cancel it but if it does they keep it going for years till its lost all shape of its original context.
Even Heroes is turning into the same, bring in new people, stretch something happening for a season and leave a twist in for the next season.

There are a few exceptions cheets, notably the X-Files, which maintained the same storyline, despite the case somewhat changing for the final two (though not to the detriment to the show).
Shows like The Sopranos, The Shield and even Buffy and Angel maintained their integrity, with Buffy becoming somewhat of a classic for it's progression through childhood as well as the classic, 'Big Bad' coming in at the end.
So who's watching Heroes? :p
why didn't Peter teleport Nathan to Claire to give him his blood? Then Claire wouldn't be on her own when Sylar attacked oh God Linerman... the plot thickens :/
BB x
Just watched the first two episodes and there's a couple of things that kind of bother me.
Edit: This is spoilers from both episodes, so don't read the second paragraph if you haven't seen ep 2!
Firstly, it's a bit of a cop-out that all of a sudden anyone can have powers. I guess it expands things, but it feels like a 'cheap' way of doing it. Secondly, how lax is Hiro about the theft of an earth-destroying formula, entrusted to him mere seconds before. It's like he's learned nothing from the last two series.
Oh, and re Peter not helping Nathan, I think it was all planned. Peter didn't seem at all shocked when Nathan woke from the dead. It seems future Peter has the ability to 'put' people inside other people, and I'm wondering if he's thrown Lindeman, with his rejuvenation powers, into Nathan in some way.

It's a bit 4400 esque, in that I think they're pushing for the idea that not everyone will have a favourable reaction to it. In The 4400 something called Promicin gave people their abilities. People could take promicin but there was a 50/50 chance that it would either kill you or give you powers. Seeing Mohinder's increased drinking and so on I can't help but wonder if that's yet another thing they're going to whip from 4400!
There is nicely the hint of a big debate set up with Maya and Mohinder anyway, giving powers to everyone would be a very dangerous thing. Harkens off to 4400 and comic book worlds like with X-Men and the great mutant debates, Marvel's Civil War series and so on. Plenty of material for them to rip off ;D
Hiro is dense, very dense, but oh well :-/
I like Hiro!!! :D
I think I'm in love with Claire Bear... she is just so watchable :/

I like that you like her. :D
They really seem to have sexed everyone up for this series - they all look like they've strolled in from the beach or the set of The OC or something. Maya in particular has gone from a dirty immigrant to a chic supermodel in about three episodes flat. Practically everyone has flawless skin as well. It doesn't feel right really.
They are all 'speshal' their powers are developing and so are their skin cells :/

I thought the first two eps of season three were a right mess. I'll keep watching in the hope that it improves but right now it's halfway over the shark. :(
4th in and wtf, far to much going on, just reminds me of season 1

One minute she's got a significant latino twang in her voice, the next she's all L.A Baby.
Maybe its her new power that she can also change accents!
But didn't see the ending of the last episode coming at all! Certainly puts a new twist on it.

Ah, you mean the power that pleases all continuity editors, as it explains any errors they've missed?
:D
Yeah thats the one, knew I'd seen it in many other programs too heh!
Seriously good show but yes there are a few errors here and there, and sometimes doesn't seem to make any sense.
Urgh.. last nights (episode 5) had yet another continuity goof in it.
The writers seem to have forgotten that Sylar has super hearing that he gained in season 1
I'd forgotten about that!!

I think its a bit cheesy but i like it
Also, is Mrs Petrelli really his Mum or is she just mental?
Just watched the second one that I missed the first half of :/ amazed at how much I missed!

@ Garp
I don't think so, because later in that episode Sylar confronts Mr.Bennet with the things he heard him say to Claire. He'd have needed super hearing to hear that conversation.
EDIT, Do'h.

I Love Claire Bear.

Why didn't Sylar hear HRG man tell Vortex man to kill Sylar? - doesn't he have ultra hearing from that woman he killed in the mountains in Season 2 - think it was Season 2?!

I love the way they're going with Sylar too.
Initially he was nothing more than THE VILLAIN!!!!, albeit a good one, but now they've fleshed his character out making him so much more.
Has anybody seen episode 8? The one shown in the states this week?
Yes, if that's the one they show on BBC3 at 10pm. Felt very much like a 'filler' episode - like they've done in the past to set up proceeding episodes. Lots of character development but again no real plot progression, and starting to be a bit too much shoehorning together of characters in past situations. It works for Lost because the characters are inherently linked in a way we're yet to discover, but in Heroes it just feels for the sake of it, to make the writers look clever.
I still like it though :D
I watch both episodes, as I usually miss some of the second.

Hi.
Season three is made up of 13 episodes. You'll remember it if you've seen it as there is a big scene featuring Meredith (the fire woman).
Season four, Fugitives, begins transmission in the US on feb 2 IIRC.
Clare Bear's mum?
Arse missed it then :( dunno if it was actually broadcast on BBC2?!
