I went down to the auctions tonight to cheer myself up and instead of bidding on a cheap diesel, I stuck my hand up on a E39 535:( Bit of an impulse buy, but it was gorgeous and had service history, full leather, air con, cruise control and looked lovely. Now Im waiting to hear if my provisional bid is accepted. If it is, I will have a bargain V8.:)

Then I have to sell Sarah:'(

Go on, tell me what a bad driver I am and all the other BMW stereotypes:p

Oh and I checked, it does have fully functional indicators and goes something rapid.

It's because they've never been used :)

Actually, I like the 5 series, don't understand what the E39 bit means though.

I believe it is a sport too. Which is a bit rare. The price I have put down on it is almost beer money (over a few months) We will have to see what tomorrow brings.

Yes the E39 is the last of the well designed BMW before they got Bangalised.

I also forgot about the auction for a leather interior for my current car Sarah I won.

Will have to think of a new name for this one if I get it. She can play with Barney at meets....

(BTW all my cars are called after women. Nothing at all to do with them being expensive and moody..... er honest;D )

BMW use E numbers to denote a specific model of car for the years it was made. So a 5 series could be brand new or 10 years old. But if you say E39 you know the model it is. Ours is an E39 too.

Saw a 2002 on the road yesterday first time in a very long time! Not a Tii though :( Still fantastic :)

E39's are ok, but I personally prefer the previous shape :)

Whilst on lunch with a lovely young lady, she commented on why not do a wedding hire with me as the driver... Hmmm. That would make me a bit of money. I just need to get a good numberplate and Chauffeurs get up and i'm in business!

How much do they normally charge? I would be getting paid to drive my car and be part of the happiest day of someone's life.

sorry dood, I am gonna be blunt..
its a BMW
of all the weddings I have been involved in (over 30 in the last 5 years) not one has used a BMW

perhaps she sees a luxury car and has an idea...
its not a roller/jag/limo

I dont think, personally you would get alot of market with the car

I am a fan of the BMW V8s, they make nice noises.

chop chop with the piccys theres a good chap :D

If you are going to do Wedding hire you will need to inform your insurance company what you are using your car for and there may even be a requirement to register with the council as you could be considered a form of taxi?

Howells? What is that? Solicitors? The only Howells I know is the department store in cardiff:huh:

I must have a reputation now, the auctions rang me and asked if I was interested in an E-Reg 635 CSi the other night. I admit I did go down and have a look, but at £1500 reserve, its a bit too rich, but omg, what a car.

I will take pics very shortly. When it stops persisting down here.
