View Full Version : 360 cables
As some of you may be aware, I'm getting a new TV shortly. A Samsung LE26R74BDX.
I was wondering what would be the best way to connect the 360 to it, currently I've got the HD cable it came with as I bought a premium, and a VGA cable.
Which would be the best out of those two? Or is there a better one I could buy?

HD cable would be fine, infact I'd stick with that. I think Desmo said there had been trouble with VGA and 360s. It looks awesome in HD :'(
Short answer - depends on the panel and what else you want to hook up to it. On my 23" Sammy, there's little difference in it (since they've added the extra VGA settings in the new dash) - I'm using VGA simply so component is available for the Wii.
Try them both and see how you get on - the difference is likely to be very little, particularly on screens our size anyway.
Ok I'll have a fiddle about then :)
I've got an unofficial VGA cable at the moment so tempted to see if an official one really is better although on the TFT I can't see how it could be better!
While I'm still using freeview I'll only need a scart socket for the PS2 I think.
There can be some problems bt that really depends on the individual set. Some people have it working fine, others don't. Manufacturers blame MS and vice versa.
After that, it really depends on the TV and you. I can't say I prefer one or the other myself. I only use VGA as the Wii uses component. Only other advantage is that VGA will upscale films to 1080p whereas Component only goes to 1080i, but that's not an issue for you.
