View Full Version : Great insurance quote!
Well, it was that time for renewal. Always a horrid time of the year as a huge chunk of change leaves my account - and I insist on being FC so it clocks up!
Anyway - I found Greenlight insurance who I have to say, on paper, look fantastic. They've quoted my £457 FC inclusive of all my modifications, and living in London, along with 12k miles per year, 90 days foreign driving, legal expenses and so on as well as commuting to work. So thats, Turbo, Intercooler, Air Filter, ECU, Exhaust and Clutch declared - along with a 40+% increase in power - I must say I'm mucho impressed!
Still takes a a good quarter of my monthly income :( Ah well, I'll have to be a bit frugal this month that's all.
So for any of you with modified cars I heartily suggest them! They were also very good on the phone. :)

Your monthly income is £1800 and you're moaning about £450pa on insurance? ;)
Tu peux me donner du fric si tu ne sais plus quoi en faire :p
Still, your quote is damn good - out of interest, what would you get quoted on my clio? :D
Thats damn good considering how much work you have done to it.
They gave me an awesome quote on the condition that I'd owned and been insured on a performance car before. Unfortunately a 2 litre Mondeo isn't classed as a performance car :p, so they refused me!!! Was really shocked. I was prepared for the price to go up considerably, but not for a complete refusal.
I'm currently with Sainsburys Car Insurance. Hell of a lot cheaper than anywhere else I tried. I also found it very odd that an Impreza is about twice as expensive as a 200SX to insure even though the SX is an insurance group higher!! Must be the nickability affecting it. Looking forward to next year when I can go to a place that does insurance for performance cars and actually get it a bit cheaper. I'll try Greenlight then :)
Oh and Will, stop moaning. My insurance on the Mondeo was more than £450!!! Bloody no claims  (only got 3 yrs because I was on my bro's insurance before that).

£450 quid for insurance ;D
At last a benefit for being old
That's not too bad for a London quote considering the car though Malc :)

Indeed - needless to say I said "you're joking?!" - they went, "nope, dead serious!". And it's all the usual T&Cs, DOC and stereo cover etc... Awesome!

That's a bugger :( I'm sure they'll be good for you next year. :) Sainsbury's do insurance?! Crikey! How much you paying? I'm guessing it's fully comp?

Hehehe - without my mods it's £340!!! FC. Still not bad for London! And not parked in a garage either! ;)

Old git! :p Bear in mind that it has over 40% power increase owing to some serious modifications. It's not garaged, it's a relatively high insurance group, it's nickable (convertible), and I live in London. If it were un modified and I lived in the midlands, I just had a quote for £320 FC with £0 voluntary excess. Not many people get under £400 for performance cars in London - so I'm rather chuffed! :D

Indeed! I'll have to let you have a go now I've got a new clutch and everything!

Yep fully comp and near enough to £800 *weeps*
But it's worth it for your beast! :D
ROFL! ;D Yeah yeah... there goes your spin in it ;)

The curses of being young, mine was £900 last year, and it's looking at about £800 this year. Only got 1 years ncb, and I do around 20-25k miles a year now.
£302 on group 17, with an extra £127 if I want to put the other Beemer on as well? (Group 18) - First Alternative, gotta love em.
Still, I was young once and my first quote was £1200 off the AA for a 1984 1.3 golf cl
