Just got in from seeing it. *nice early preview screening*
Supremely good film. Loved it. :D
Finishes the story off nicely. There better not be a 4th - would cock with the story now.
Some annoyances - mainly with the filming and editing. Someone please buy the DP a steadicam! Also, not a fan of a lot of fast edits...
But, other than that. Beautifully done. Paul Greengrass seriously knows how to hold tension throughout the film - and in some films it doesn't work, it did work very well in this.
Matt Damon was great, really seemed to be into the role and had the feel of someone who could look around a room and spot anyone and who was watching them.
David Strathairn was creepy as hell and Joan Allen was again great as Pamela Landy.
It does help a lot seeing the first two, but knowing the plotlines would help a hell of a lot if you haven't seen them. Just gives you a bit of back story.
Go see it. :D http://www.boat-drinks.co.uk/images/icons/icon14.gif

We're going to see this on Friday *is excited*
Seen the trailers a few weeks ago. Seems like a good choice.
/wishes he had a local cinema.
I cant WAIT to see this and if I don't get to a cinema for it I'll be really really disappointed. The first two are easily in my top 10 films, 1st one definitely in the top five :)
MIght have to break out an Orange Wednesday and see this soon! Read all the Ludlum books (and all the none Bourne ones), loved the movies so far and am thoroughly looking forward to this one. This is how spy movies should be!
I've read le books and that made me feel a bit poopy when watching the first filum cos the book was just awesome!
Everytime Picky and I go to watch the second we fall asleep! Boo! Will get round to it though and ensure we see the 3rd!
Thanks for the heads up! And before I leave...
MAaaaHht DaaYMooNn.
Couldn't resist ;)

First film i have ever actually felt seasick watching. Probably didn't help that we were right at the front of the packed cinema but seriously BUY A DAMN STEADY CAM! I had to look away, not because it was rubbish but because i was going to throw up into the popcorn.
Other than the overly shaky cinematography i thought it was well good.
8/10 (-2 for the seasicky feeling)

I never realised there were other people who felt like that, I thought it was just one of my friends afflictions rather than something other people suffered from. :embarassed:
I enjoyed the film for the most part, very good direction and stunts but I feel there is something missing that prevents it being great. That could be my unwillingness to accept a film as great having only watched it once but it isn't a film that I could watch over and over which I feel is something that a great film should withstand. :)
I watched it this weekend. I loved it. The steady-cam problem didn't last too long as I was so engrossed by the constant action. I was tired when I left the cinema!! I'd watch it again - I thought it was great - maybe a little TOO much action all the time made it a little knackering to watch but all in all completes the fabulous trilogy in awesome perfectness!

Anyone else agree with me that the scene in Waterloo is clearly the best scene in the film?
Yeah it is a pretty good scene - though how he buys a prepay phone so quickly and easily I still don't know :p
Saw this last night. It quite simply nails the Bournes as my all time favourite trilogy ever. Breathtaking tension and action, the crash scene when he's driving the cop car was amazing!
Didn't disappoint on any level, BRILLIANT!

More the fact that he got it registered and then activated so fast !
Saw this monday and really enjoyed it :) Considering I only saw the first 2 a couple of months ago it was all fresh in my mind :)
Next step is probably to hunt down and buy the books :)
The books are very very different. I read somewhere that the guy who wrote the screenplay for the second film hadn't read the book!
They're meant to be really good as well though.
The wiki page says:
Jason Charles Bourne, real name David Webb, is a fictional character in the Bourne Trilogy novels written by Robert Ludlum and in two further sequels by Eric Van Lustbader.
He first appeared in The Bourne Identity (1980). This novel was adapted for both television in 1988 and a film by the same name in 2002. The character has since been in four more sequels and two other films.
So there are 2 authors over 5 books - could prove interesting :)
I'm hoping that now this film has been released some shop somewhere will do the 3 paperback books together or do a 3 for 2 or something
I read the first one, great, struggled with the second though.
I have to say that the books are good, you use your own interpretation. I think the screen writing captured the atmosphere Ludlum was set out to get. However of course, Ludlum's stories were set nearly 2 decades ago so the technology was somewhat different ;) I'm a big Ludlum fan though.
I've heard the 2 books after the original trilogy is rubbish and best avoided.

Matt Damon truly is Jason Bourne, this is his role.
J'suis tout a fait d'accords. :)

I liked that :)
Was impressed by the crossovers and was amused when Nikki started looking like Marie :p

Well I've seen Ultimatum twice and loved it both times. I'd love to see Bourne come back again, I think the script of Ultimatum allows for this.
Of course Damon has to be careful not to get typecast too much otherwise he could hinder his career. I don't think he will; I think he's good enough to get very good parts.

Don't worry, now I've seen it I'll wait for it to be cheap somewhere before buying it! :D
Saw it this morning. Just superb. It's a kind of Bond with all the campness extracted, and all the realism reinjected. OK so he survives far more knocks unscathed than he should but for the most part it's just completely believable, which Bond isn't. Makes me wish they were bringing out more, even though it was ended perfectly with the important questions answered and the minor ones left for you to ponder.
Also, that Moby track will forever make me wish I was an undercover agent. Really glad they kept it for all three movies.
The moby track is cracking on this. I really can't wait until the sound system downstairs is setup so I can watch this fully cranked up. I really like all of them and the downright grittyness appeals. When it all starts going down you can't see them sitting there going "vodka martini" *bang, one agent gone.*
I wonder if this could be expanded in some way? I don't think that it can easily without trashing the films. Maybe as some of his hits before he hesitated? Again killing families isn't going to be the best film.
Generally I'm sad that it is over, I can't see many films even remotely touching this for a while.

I must say again, the 3 films are the best secret agent ones out there at the moment.

Nah I've seen them all. Just saying its a secret agent movie! You can't talk about them in public. Walls have ears you know!! :lipsrsealed:
Just seen this... there was no need for the jerky camera filmage.
Great film nonetheless... :) glad we watched the second one on Monday...
The Waterloo scenes 'I went there!' 'I went in that alcohol shop!' 'I bought hazelnut cashews from that Cranberry stall!' quips probably drove Rob crazy... meh! :p (don'cha just hate people who talk through films?! ;))

I looked through the "old" films, and there is a fair bit of "movement" in the filming as well. I have to be honest I only noticed it because it was spoken about in this thread, it didn't really cause much of a nuisance for me. :)
I think it was probably because we watched this one in the cinema and the others on the small screen.
You probably fight enough trying to see the whole screen at the cinema, so the shaky movements **** you off more.
