It's up. It rocks. It needs playing by everyone with a 360.
Nuff said tbh.
Doh, forgot to download it. Its out soon in the UK isn't it, or is that me getting things wrong? 24th rings some bell in my head. Edit: 10/10 on Eurogamer. My wallet just came.

Well I've decided I'm not going to download the demo because I'm not here when the game comes out and I'll just be being cruel to myself :(
It truly is superb. The world in there is just amazing, the detail is fantastic, and the gameplay is top draw too. I'm enjoying incinerate quite a lot at the moment!
Big review scores to boot:

No PC demo though :( Isn't this due out tomorrow?

PC version - this is available on both DX9 and DX10? I'm wondering how this would run in terms of performance on DX10.

Huddy yes it will work on both DX9 & DX10 :)

Next week iirc, 24th :)

Yes but I was wondering what would be better as I'll have to get Vista loaded on my gaiming rig. I don't fancy doing this to find it performs like a dog. All the performance ratings have been on the DX9 version and not DX10. I've heard nothing how this is going to perform. Going by recent articles I've read, even the top end DX10 cards struggle with DX10 :(
£30 delivered (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/42462/xbox-360-game-bioshock-only-29-75-d/)! No cash though :(

Hmmm have just seen the first 15 minutes of the demo and figure I might have to actually download it after all :D
That was pretty sweet! I really like the concept, the 'trapped in a bygone era' feel and the control system. Not too sure about the start, what with just jumping into a random cage in the middle of the ocean, but maybe that'll be explained later on.
I got pwned by the security bots though, big time.
Apparently Bioshock is going/has gone up on steam for pre-order. Be a cheap(er) purchase for you PC folk if you can buy in dollars.
Another good offer for it: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/42534/bioshock-xbox-360-limited-edition-t/
Having seen Davey play the demo, it looks fantastic and I'm really tempted now, which is a very bad thing :p
Might download this tonight :)
Just played the demo through and it looks very good :)

Ordered the super duper special edition for the PC myself. Had a £20 voucher for Game, add the £5 off voucher and 11% quidco... It was cheap. :D
Really should set the 360 up again, just doesn't get enough use.
Looks pretty good. Still playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R though. :D

Sadly it isn't :(
It's $54.99 then you have to add tax :/ it works out at about £32.

IGN review is up, they gave it a 9.7, which is an immense score. The review is a great read as well, and just makes me want to get it even more. Pre-order is going in tomorrow morning when I can contact Game to use my reward points towards it :)

Its looking like its the best game ever made so far. 100% on game rankings last time I checked.

Well I caved and downloaded the demo just haven't played it yet. Will probably give it a crack tonight if I can get the telly back :p
Played the demo through three times now. Is it next Friday yet?!

I was thinking the same. Pre-ordered it now, and I'm praying Gameplay get it to me on Thursday like they usually do with pre-orders.
I knew you would :D
Is that the free faceplate one? :D

Damn money issues. Haven't played the demo, but looks alright from the video, fun as well. I'll probably pick it up on the cheap in a few months.
Money issues is what's stopping me from walking into Gamestation on Friday and buying Blue Dragon and Bioshock now after seeing the demo :(
I loved the way I set someone on fire and they jumped in the water, cooled off then came after me. Totally didn't expect it.

burn them, then shock them ;)
I'm just preordering from Game now, taking into account my points, it's costing me £27.49, not including the quidco thingie :)

I preordered one of the 360 collectors editions but it doesn't appear to be available any more. :(

Nope, Steel tin edition from Gameplay, the faceplate was from Play.com and I'd never trust them to get it to me on time :)

Well I've now played it through twice and it's frickin awesome :D must remember to search everywhere for stuff.
You can only carry 9 first aid kits and they don't automatically get use if your health is low. They also seem to completely restore your heath so it's probably best to wait till the beeping.
In a similar vein you only use the eve stuff when you've run out. I'd like to be able to recharge it if possible but doesn't look like it works that way, seems they work the same way as the first aid kits.
took me 4 goes to figure out the hacking game :embarassed: but after that I'm hacking everything!!!! :D

Just seen a video of the demo and it looks ok, i'm just not a fan of games in dark places and things jumping out. I'm a bit of a wuss really.
Condemned scared the crap out of me as Kitten and Leo can vouch for, but I did really like it. I must just like being scared ;D
Creature
18-08-2007, 14:48
Still haven't completed the demo of condemned. I'm just not a fan of jumpy things. Fine with horror, violence and random acts of mass slaughter, hate jumpy things.
Fair enough, I'm the same with films. Must just be a glutton for punishment with games. ;D
I was on the edge of my seat playing this demo. 5.1 + dark room = scary. But considering its already being called the best game evar!!!! I think I'll brave it.

Did anyone else notice the big daddy in the corridor before you pass over the whale during the into?
Oh and figured how to use the eve syringes without having to run out, use reload :D

19-08-2007, 16:35
Jamie is playing it at the moment and getting scared ;D
Had a quick blast over the weekend, still not sure about it, like Creature I'm not keen on games that scare the crap out of you. :embarassed:
Think it's going to be Blue Dragon for me next week
I like scary games/films/etc... :D Had a look at the website it looks very odd indeed - what's the big thing about it, other than the whole make your own weapons/completely different gameplay thingy....?
Think it's going to be Blue Dragon for me next week
I'm still eying up whether I can find enough games to sell to fund that :D

I don't really like playing games unless they're nutty ones like bomerman. I watch scary games like movies. But I doubt Jackie will play it for you so you can't do that ;D
I must have missed the fancy bits like hacking, I just ran around shooting everything and picking up bits and pieces. I've deleted the demo and will just have to wait until Friday.

This snippet from the Eurogamer review sums it up better than I ever could :)
"Bioshock doesn't just meet your expectations, but completely redefines them forever in ways you never even expected - in ways that games used to in the past, routinely. The hours spent playing this masterpiece were the perfect encapsulation of why videogaming is such a favourite waste of time for so many of us. Thrilling, terrifying, moving, confusing, amusing, compelling, and very very dark. BioShock isn't simply the sign of gaming realising its true cinematic potential, but one where a game straddles so many entertainment art forms so expertly that it's the best demonstration yet how flexible this medium can be. It's no longer just another shooter wrapped up in a pretty game engine, but a story that exists and unfolds inside the most convincing and elaborate and artistic game world ever conceived. It just so happens to require you to move the narrative along with your own carefully and personally defined actions. Active entertainment versus passive: I know which I prefer."

I've just been browsing through some of it's stories, and the amount of fanboy fueled "news" stories makes my brain hurt.
Loved some of the comments. ;D
This is quite concerning. I think the last piece of software I pre-ordered was Fly! for the PC.

Well i've now played the demo and thought it was great. Fire into water to electrocute...awesome.
I think this will be on my birthday list :D
Not really my style of game, but after playing the demo it just dragged me in. Need to play through it fully soon just to make sure.

Qty Description
1 Bioshock [Xbox 360]
We are pleased to advise that your order, 01492284/P, is currently being processed.
I think a w00t is in order.
http://www.ukrm.org/feek/w00t.png
I concur with that w00t. Can't wait to get hold of my Big Daddy.
I liked it, but again its an fps on a console which I really struggle with :/
Having said that - I didnt die in the demo once :D Maybe my console FPS skillz are getting better...

Dear Mr David Pitchforth,
We are pleased to inform you that your order for has been dispatched by our team in Basingstoke.
That's the first time in a long time I've had the email on a Tuesday night and not the Wednesday night. It's possible, though unlikely, I may get the game today. I have had a game from Gameplay 2 days early before, and if I do get it today, I'll love them forever. Fingers crossed!
Play are saying in stock for 25 quid - ooh tempting.
I just spoke to Mrs. Feek and it looks as though mine's arrived. At least there's a DVD sized package at home with a return address of a PO Box in Basingstoke which a quick check has shown that's where their Head Office is.
I was supposed to be popping down to the Range this evening for some .357 Magnum goodness but I think I may head straight home instead :D
Throw a sickie and go now tbh ;D
If only it were that simple.

DVD drive doesn't want to read the disk. Works fine in the laptop though...
Arse. :(
Metal tin is quite cool though. As is Big Daddeh.

That Big Daddy looks awesome :D
Getting a bit frustrated in the first mission/level in that I can only have two Plasmids loaded so I've ended up having to dump a couple and no way that I've found yet to extend that.
Having fun though :)
