Had my first op today to remove the ganglion in my wrist thats been bugging me. I really didnt like going under general anaesphetic cos it reminded me of having a fit but woke up in a different ward ful of strange people then slept two hours. Now im all slinged up, one hand is sore from the needle.

Going camping in 2 days and my gigs next week, didnt think id be this incapacitated, but i can order people about teehee

My mum has had the same op quite a few times, you should be alright in a few weeks. :) Not sure about being able to play a gig so soon after though.

*Hugs* hope it is recovering well and you are not too uncomfortable. What is a ganglion anyway?

I didn't know either, so I went looking. This is the best article I could find on the subject...

A mate of mine when I was at secondary school had one as well on his wrist, he eventually had it removed. Hope you're recovering okay from it :)

Sounds painful - Hope you're OK for your gig Holly!!!

I am pretty sure I have a ganglion on my wrist, but it only comes up if I agravate it. I think it's related to RSI because I managed to make things a lot better by using a gel mouse/keyboard wrist rest for home/work. Sometimes flares up when I'm doing moves in my exercise classes that involve putting a lot of weight on my wrist though.

I booked an appointment to see a doc about it, but by the time the appointment came round, I'd managed to stop it hurting again. Keeps me awake at night when it's hurting though - I can understand why you went through the op Holly. Get well soon!!

One of my friends has one of these and another friend smashed it down with a book  but it keeps coming back.

Never noticed it before on you Hols - hope you are ok :)
