What would we do without them?

Had _anyone_ ever heard of them before the Oil of Ulay adverts?

Did they invent them, just to sound scientific?

I think we should be told, it's a conspiracy I say.

You old cynic, they were the best kept secret no-one realised until now. How can they not be great? :p

Oh and no, I'd never heard of them, nor do I really expect to hear of them again once the initial fuss dies down. :)

They sound like an insect that has many, many legs.

Scary wee beastie.

Peptides are essentially proteins, chains of amino acids. Pentapeptides are chains of 5 amino acids. (proteins are formed by peptides that are many amino acids in length, which subsequently fold up due to interactions between the amino acids).

Its just marketing talk for a compound they have put in to the mix that has a marketable name I guess...

Although failing that, im pretty sure it is a conspiracy

For some reason the name 'Nina Bagart (sp)' always makes us giggle!

Chain of 5 amino acids in the form of a proteinous liquid more commonly known as snake oil I believe :)

So people are trying to sell you products that turn your skin into scales? Niiiice! :p

I'm afraid I find all these moisturiser, anti-ageing creams, and other such stuff a bit of a crock of **** :/

Do you know what else reduces wrinkles?

Soft Lighting.

Soft focus. If everyone walked round with their eyes half shut we'd all look better. I would think.

I always thought the pentapeptides had something to do when your surfing - i.e. you surf five waves in one go.. :p

Teehee in my head this will turn you into a character from the sitcom Bread - they were the Boswells weren't they?

Vaseline on the eyeballs maybe?

I'm not so convinced the ensuing bruises will really aid beauty but I'm big enough to admit that I could be wrong on this. ;)

Couple of weeks ago New Scientist had an article ripping into Clarins 'Expertise 3P' product that claimed its 'Magnetic Defence Complex' 'protects the skin from the ageing effects of artificial magnetic waves' What is it, tin foil in a pot? Not surprisingly, the claim has been dropped from the advert.
