20:20 is a foreshortened version of cricket in which only 20 overs are bowled by each team and the other team attempts to score the highest possible score of those 20 overs. Its is a good game and probably (for some) more exciting then the traditional test format :)

Yay, *sings* England won the Twenty20 :D

English sport is on the up.. Next we'll retain the Rugby world cup, next year we'll win Euro 2008 and the year after win back the Ashes in England!! #cough#
EDIT - 20:20 @ Essex is great fun.. Kids love it :)

Well, one of their matches in the competition but it is still a victory for the gentlemans sport.
Apparentenly some thugish game has been going rather well too, but we don't need to dwel on that.
I feel I should build up my faith in British sport before we take a pasting in the organised fighting tomorrow.

Well, there goes that surprise. :'(

Sorry Old Bean, I am not used to these sports based shenanigans

Fair enough. :D
Edit: In fact, I was going to mention a sports forum at some point.

You can have a special forum for all that stuff if you like?

Well, I don't know if we'd need it and whether it'd take too much away from GD (not that sport is mentioned much). It was just a half-thought.
Can we have a big debate now about whether it's:
20:20
Twenty20
20Twenty
Or any other variations? :)
It's Twenty20. I have evidence to prove this should it be required. :)
Glad we won, though it was only Zimbabwe. Tougher tests (pardon the pun) will follow.
I had this debate with my skip when we were setting our batting order, I think the ICC say Twenty20.

There's a couple of threads already so it may not be a bad idea :)

With the influx of new victi... I mean members, any negative effect on GD is likely to be balanced out. :)

In this, the Spurs Championship winning season, a Sports forum would be great :)
I'd be tempted to say the same about Reading, but it seems they're going down. :/

I guess we'll need 2 forums. 'Sports - Reality' and 'Sports - Fiction' then.

Pfffft, it's way too early to tell.
England Vs Australia.
It's not looking good now, Australia are 103 for 1 off 12 overs in reply to Englands 135
I don't want to look all smug, but meh. Don't say I didn't warn you. :-p
I have a forum-y based question. Why don't spoilers get removed from e-mails? Or isn't this possible?
Edit: Or do they and the people above were quick on the edit button?

I went to one a couple of weeks back, was quite good. I'm gonna try and get to more matches next season.
Mini-meets?!?!
Twenty20 internationals aren't cheap. The ones at the Oval cost me about £58 iirc and that, while not cheap seats, certainly wasn't the most expensive option - by a long way. Think we're done for this season, but I'd certainly be up for next year if it's local(ish). :)

Not possible as far as I'm aware. All the spoiler tag does is change the text colour to the same as the background.
Definitely not possible if you can't spell 'spoiler'. :o :)
You could always not subscribe to threads with spoilers in them. :)
Doesn't help if one is subscribed to a thread which then gets spoilers.
Indeed. There are always going to be cases where spoilers appear out of nowhere.
Fireworks (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/7003537.stm) - and we're on the receiving end. :'(
I'll not post the outcome so Goose doesn't read it in his email. :p
In cow corner. Well, that's where the first one went.
Feel free to discuss, I've seen the highlights etc. Thanks for keeping it quiet. ;)
I missed the highlights. Would have loved to see them just for that over. I missed the Mascarenhas fireworks over as well. :(
