Studio Ghibli starts Friday on Film4

So good I thought it was worth mentioning. On Friday afternoon Film 4 is starting a season of Studio Ghibli films, most definitely worth a watch. One or two I haven't seen before either :) :

Its a Japanese animation studio the majority of the stuff is produced by Hayao Miyazaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayao_Miyazaki) who is excellent and its widely thought of as producing the best non violent anime around :)

Gotcha. I'd heard of (but never seen) one or two of them, but didn't make the connection.

Anyone want to make a pick as to which one(s) might be best to watch for an anime n00b? :)

I've only seen Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away and they're both fantastic films.

Those are the two I've heard of, but not seen, and one of them is on, so I guess that's as good as any. :)

I'd add Kiki and Totoro with them too, although these 2 are more "kiddies" than Laputa and Nausicca, especially Totoro.

Im watching Castle of Cagliostro atm, Il have to miss the last 15 minutes because I wanted to catch the 4:55pm performance but my mum was watching a film on sky so caught the later one on film four + and I have work at 8 :(
Its ok, but im so tired and distracted it hasnt grabbed me yet! Im looking forward to kiki's delivery service:)

aww my neighbour totoro was a lovely film, so enchanting :) watched with my grandma and she kept saying "why do they have ugly faces?!" and when the granny came on the screen she said "just because shes old doesnt mean she has to have a wart on her face!" bless
