a friend of mine turned up at the house with a copy today. apparently though, since it's MS published if you go online with it they'll charge you with breaking the streetdate, with a personal fine of up to £10,000 (not sure on the truth of this, 2 of the gentlemen involved in the conversation are ex game empolyees so i think it's pretty spot on)

Totally unenforcable, as the consumer wasn't in the wrong. They can punish the retailer for breaking the street date, that is of no concern to the consumer.

MS have already said they wont do anything to the accounts or consoles of anyone who's playing or will play Halo 3 before the release.

"We can confirm that Microsoft is not taking any action (such as banning Xbox Live accounts) against gamers who are playing Halo 3 before the official street date. Any rumours or speculation to the contrary are false," reads the statement issued by Microsoft this evening.

Am I the only person who's not overly bothered by Halo 3? I love the idea of 4 player co-op but that's the only real thing that is drawing me in. For online stuff I'd rather wait for COD4 in Nov which should be amazing.

yes Davey, you are certainly in the minority...

Halo is one of 2 games i can think of as changing my outlook of gameing...the other being TimeSplitters as its the first time i used analouge sticks for movement...

can't wait :D
it looks so much better than halo 2 :D (thanks to the forge and Saved Films)

I'm exactly the same as you. I was never overly fussed about Halo tbh, it was good fun especially in co-op but I never quite saw how it was so amazing according to some. I played through Halo co-op with my ex and enjoyed it but when Halo 2 came around and I was playing it single player, it just never drew me in. The online always pissed me off with the amount of kiddies on it too, it made CS seem mature which is quite a terrifying thought ;D

No, no I can't. I rewatched the original trailer last night in HD. I want it now! I loved Halo 1. That bit in the middle when you enter a room and theres blood all over the walls and dead bodies. "Hang on, did I do this? No I couldn't have. Did I take a wrong turn and back track? Hmmm odd. Who killed these guys then?" A few minutes later you're swamped by Flood. Awesome change of direction. I loved the music too and can't wait for the 3rd ost. The games have a recognisable theme tune so when you're running around "being" the Master Chief and the music kicks in, its great :) Even my Dad knows the tune from me playing it so much :D

Played the first one on the Xbox and the PC... not played any of the others.

On the PC it was just a substandard fps... Xbox - pad killed it for me.

I can't imagine playing a FPS with anything but a keyboard an mouse - brings me back to Quake 1 days! :D The gfx do look cool though - I think I tried HALO in the past and didn't really enjoy it that much.
