View Full Version : Heroes Season 2
If I'm right, it starts tonight in the US of A so we'll be watching it tomorrow :)
Quite looking forward to this.
Only finished the 1st season a few weeks ago so am really looking forward to this :)
House season 4 is also starting this week? So that'll be on my watch list too :)
I really do wish I had a better connection to the net.....

I really do wish I had a better connection to the net.....
There's always the television itself?
It definitely is starting tonight in the US, was talking to my sister in the US about this yesterday.

Heh, entirely the opposite. What's the point in having an ATI AIW TV tuner vid card, 185GB of HDD space, and two days off if you can't make use of them for your friends? It would be no problem at all for me to record the episode, edit the commercials out, and upload it. Except for the last part. You folks would have already seen it on the telly before my connection speed would allow me to actually upload that big of a file......
Heh heh, it'll be on the torrent sites within half an hour of the episode finishing anyway :) but it's the thought which counts.
Yeah, but if I had my connection I had in Oregon, you folks would be watching it like it was on TiVo or something. I REALLY miss having a decent connection. :(
It's downloading now, maxing out my 8Mb connection and will be finished in <15 minutes. Shame I leave for work in 8 minutes.

Hmmmmm...
I believe this is available for me to watch tonight...
Only problem is that I'm meant to be at an awards ceremony meeting Suggs this evening...
Decisions... Decisions....
Suggs or Heroes S2...
Both. Do Suggs and then watch Heroes when you get home.

I like your thinking there :D

Ok, so what do I need to do a torrent?
As in, for FTP uploads, I would need WSFTP. For playing a WMV I would need Windows Media Player. What do I need to play with a torrent?

Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php)
You download a small file which Azureus uses to download the full file. Will probs be a divx file that you can play in your favorite video playing software cough vlc cough
uTorrent is the best program I've used, small footprint and doesn't kill your computer when you leave it on for a while. Pretty straightforward to set up as wel :)
I agree with uTorrent now - I tried Azuerus and hated it but uTorrent works well.

Anyone have the eztv Heros torrent? Website is down at the moment :(
I can get it to you when I get in - at work atm.
Also, use uTorrent over Azureus if you're using Windows. If you're a Mac user, use Azureus.
edit: Darrin - grab a copy of VLC (www.videolan.org), best thing you can use to play video files imho
Just watched it :D
Gotta wait a week for the next one now - dammit
Just watched it too :)
A few more questions now that don't have answers :(

This is why I try and download them in the morning. Luckily managed to grab it first thing.
Also, I kept brushing my screen to try and get rid of a bug till I realised it was your sig :(
Just watched it.
Those damn popups telling me about bionic woman were irritating me no end.
Interesting start to the series though.
Shame the credits were cut off, I wanted to find out who Kensai was. Reminds me of Paul Bettany but if it is he's not credited on IMDb with it.
Edit: found out. Its David Anders, an American actor.

Watched it this morning before work and really enjoyed it
Can't believe they killed Sulu! Whenever he came on I had mental images of Kirk and Spok turning up as well that amused me no end.
Got it last night and will be watching it on the faptop at lunchtime. :D
Well well.
Really dragging out the old Star Trek cast, Nichelle Nicholls (Lt. Uhura) is in this weeks episode, x03
Really? I didn't see her.
But I DID see Malcolm from Enterprise....
I've only ever seen one episode of Enterprise, the pilot when I was in a motorhome just outside the Indianapolis stadium on Grand Prix weekend!
Really? I didn't see her.
But I DID see Malcolm from Enterprise....
She was Micah's grandmother (at a guess)
And Malcolm was in episode 2 as well - Feek he's the irish guy who had his mind read :)
It's building up great again, just like in the first series.
I hate waiting for it weekly though :(

"Welcome to New Orleans"
DOH!! You'd think a die-hard trekkie like me would have remembered that. You're right, that was indeed her, I just didn't clue in.
Is it me or were the flying effects truly atrocious in episode 3? Reeve's Superman flew better, and that was three decades ago!
I think the sfx budget for the show is starting to get strained. They used up quite a bit in the "New York goes BOOM!!" segment last season.
And NBC are pretty tight-fisted with the cash when it comes to fledgling series, no matter how popular they are. It's only when a show gets 3 or 4 seasons under its belt do they generally start forking over some of the proceeds.

I just recently got introduced to this show and I've just caught up to the present episode. I must say that the show looks spectacular in 720p, with sometimes near-cinema quality effects, especially in mid-season one.
Other times, however, the show is a bit frustrating just like my other TV affectation, Lost. It seems that if you had all these powers you wouldn't let such situations get out of hand. This is especially true for Hiro and Peter Petrelli. In many of these scenarios they could stop time, kill the bad guy, and walk away.
[season one spoiler]Why on earth did Peter have to blow up in the sky over NY? Could Hiro not have stopped time, moved him into the ocean, or some distant desert, or similar, and started time again. It's not like the amount of time and effort used would be a burden since time, for him, is largely infinite. Heck, why not go back in time and prevent Peter from ever meeting Ted Sprague. He could stop and travel through time to do all the research he needed to find out who to move or influence and when to do it. Why do either of them engage in any fights? Stop time, place your enemies on a rooftop far away or something, and continue with your life.[/season one spoiler]
Meh, I'm just being pedantic I think. I'll keep watching as long as it stays interesting. :)

Tsk tsk. You didn't spot her name in the opening credits? It is a bit odd that they're putting Trek actors into it.
Seems we have our first parent-to-child similar ability

yeah, Parkman was my least favourite, but if he can start affecting people's thoughts rather than just reading them, he could be pretty cool. Season 2's going a bit slowly for me, though.

The lack of a clear (even if for the moment) bad guy I think is causing that.
In the last season we had Sylar and for a while Horn-rimmed glasses guy (forgotten his name)
Noah Bennett was a good baddy for a while....but we didn't really get much of Sylar until later on into S1. Obv we've got Sylar back to a degree now in S2 and Parkman's dad now is emerging as "nightmare man", but slightly different abilities to Matt it seems so far.
I think the series is starting to pick up a bit, it was a bit slow starting, but then S1 was the same really. It's only when all the cast get to be linked into one another and we get a really in depth plot that it becomes really good. I still think it's so cool whenever Peter does any of his abilities though, last nights painting was awesome :)

I'm annoyed with the Hiro-in-feudal-Japan storyline as its gone on too long without connection to the present conflict.
yeah it's getting a bit stupid now, would have been better if he'd come home when he was originally thinking of it....pretty sure Kensei will show up somewhere in the present though as an immortal (making his power different to Claire's which i'm sure they will want to try and do)....prob why they're spending so much time developing him

Claire's dad is just stringing Mohinda and the rest along I think.
For some reason I so didn't see the ending coming :( I should have done really.
I wonder how long before Peter starts remembering and works out that Kensei/Adam isn't who he says he is and they don't know each other. From reading elsewhere it seems that Peter can get his memories back by using the telepathy he got from Parkman.
Wossi, we have spoiler tags :p use [ s p o i l e r ] [ / s p o i l e r ] (without the spaces) around your relevant text.
That was a great episode, everything is finally starting to fall into place.
I'm trying to work out whether Bob was hinting that Adam was the one controlling the weather or not.. if he is then it appears that Adam / Kensei could be quite an interesting bad guy.

Was wondering if they'd have any specs for Noah...
Serious sadistic torture if they don't, won't be long before he starts getting headaches :p
Before that I was thinking "Damn, right in the eye, THE ****ING EYE!"
:D
I noticed on the Beeb they had an article from the producers apologising for the slow start to the second series. Hopefully they'll not make that mistake with the third, though I'm also desperately hoping they sort out the writers strike and soon so we don't end up with an early termination of this series.
I heard that they are writing a way out of S2 for the episode that airs soon. Just in case there the writers strike continues so they can end it well. It'll be a damn shame if they have to though.
Thats "Oh boy" :D
I'll get my coat for getting it wrong :(
I'd heard that the writers strike has already meant that the spinoff Heroes: Origins has been canned :(
This weeks episode was great :)
Knew what the end was gonna be though, mentioned it to Sam just after the incident with Mohinder.
So does the revelation about Adam mean that Claire and Peter aren't going to age any more now? Or can they choose a "cut off" point? Or even go backwards and repair cells which have degenerated and are showing "age"? And will Noah carry on with a healing ability or will it fade away?
Ooo so many questions :D

Clare and Peter can live forever as they are inherently able to regenereate...
Noah has been healed with the blood of his daughter, he is no more special than he ever was.
I am still beyond all of this :p
I did think the twist at the end was slightly predictable. I wasn't expecting it as such, but when it happened it didn't surprise me, if that makes sense?
As for Clare's healing factor.. what if her blood 'heals' Noah by making him able to regenerate like her? After all what is healthy to it is the way Clare's body is.

I find it very unlikely that Clare's blood is filled with nanobots, it's just blood, red stuff, life fluid. Sure it can work to repair someone else but it can't rewrite their DNA.
If it could it'd be cool though :D
Oh, DUDE!!
Quite the ending to the season, huh?
Not seen it but season ending? Writers strike?
Edit: Seen...
Adam, as they say, is totally ****ed!! What a messed up way to spend eternity, huh?
And what happened to the virus dust? Did it absorb into Peter's skin like it looked like?
Lame ending really, full of holes.
Like why didn't Peter just walk through the vault door? Why didn't Maya cry when she find out her brother is dead? Elle being in the the best ambush history, shouting Syler BEFORE attacking him.
As for the virus getting into Peter, he has the regenaration properties so he's cured soon it hits him anyway.
P.S. I think the shooter is Peter himself, from the future.
You could argue that walking into a pitch black, airtight safe probably isn't a great idea, even if you can light it up! And if I'd found out that someone standing in the room had killed my brother I doubt I'd start crying, I'd be pretty angry though.
I think the picture I was watching was too small, it just looked like the dust blew away off Peter's hand to me. Even if he did absorb the dust, I'm pretty sure the virus would have been killed by the heat anyway so I doubt anything is going to be made out of it storywise.
The most annoying thing for me was the typical Heroes style of ramming all the explanations and action into the final episode, and still coming away slightly disappointed. The cliffhangers for each episode are becoming too contrived as well. Bennett isn't dead! But his family think he is! How do we work this? Oh, let's just get him to tell them he's not dead... Hiro's going to attack Peter with his sword! Is this how Peter gets that scar from the first series? What will happen to Hiro?! Oh, he teleported behind him at the last second. I mean come on.
I think the writers are really good at working out the different storylines and getting them to interweave, whilst dealing with the effects of time travel on the overall story, but fitting it into episodes seems to detract from the flow. I'd be happier to not have cliffhangers every episode if it meant the story worked better for it. All that said, I still enjoy the program and look forward to the Villains season.

I did hope for more of a battle between Peter & Syler. With both of their combined powers each should have been explosive stuff. As Peter could also potentially absorb all of Sylers powers as well !
. So the battle could have been very interesting dual. However it was all a bit tame and every one all ended up it the same place as well.
I do hope series 2 has a bit more action

They really sought to tie up a lot of loose ends in that last one, still I love the program and will carry on watching it

Last night Pickers and I started watching the first series! Looks really good! We didn't want to stop!
There was one bit though that cracked us up soo soo much. You know the crazy Japanese stopping time dude?! Well, the bit where he manages to "teleport" himself into the middle of NYC for the first time, when he was stood there, with his arms up and shouting Yatta (or something similar) really happy..... just below his ecstatic face suddenly *POPPED* "RaymondLin is Online"! We were watching it on the xbox see - it was sooo funny!
It fitted perfectly - RaymondL - it looked like your piccie on Facebook! I peed myself laughing! It was hilarious!
RaymondL, you are now that dude in my head. So funny!

Is there a USA site where you can view series 2 ! ?No, but there's a Swedish one... ;)I nearly crawled behind my chair and hid when you saw what Hiro had done with Adam :o My thoughts on that:
This is not going to go well, methinks. If you could live forever and never be hurt, how long would it take you to claw your way out of the coffin and dig to the surface? A week, tops, I say.
My thoughts on that:
Shush shush shush shush - bad thoughts before bed :(

Impossible I reckon - the second the lid is weakened and caves, that's it, you're stuck. You'd suffocate in a matter of minutes anyway, which is presumably what would happen to him until his body reaches fresh air again and he's revived.
I reckon he becomes some sort of folklore and is one day 'resurrected' by a band of followers, the site of his grave being a kind of Holy Grail type pursuit. Would make a good 'future' spinoff! Surely the whole idea of him not being dead is that he'll be back at some point, whether because he's needed for something or through sheer accident... or the above storyline!
