Next week I will be decorating the stairs in my house and there is one bit that is damn high. For this i'll need some really tall stepladders to send someone up. Its the part at the highest part of the staircase where it joins the roof.

If you have a long stepladder that I can borrow for a weekend at some point that would be cracking.

We've only got one of those 4 section ladder things that bends about in all sorts of shapes. Might be of use in future for you but I can't see it helping on this occasion.

I have one but it depends on how long you need it. I can drop it off on Saturday. I can bring it down on by pushbike.. Should be okay on my shoulders.

Are you going to paint them the same colour scheme as the suitcase you took to SF?

I think that the current colour scheme is louder than that suitcase :D My sister also managed to lose the case coming back from Cyprus.

Louder? Christ, my eyes are hurting at the thought of it!

My house had some very questionable colour scheme when I moved in, the lounge, dining room, stairway and upstairs landing were covered in scarlet wallpaper which had cream diamonds on it which were outlined in luminous green. Foul. There was also the hairy bathroom.

No great loss ;D

Matt, are you sure that foldy ladder thing wouldn't suit - a stepladder on stairs doesn't really work as it'd be wonky (hmm, perhaps Huddy's one might suit then?!).

What about a long paintbrush intstead? I think you can get the rollers with extenders, might be easier. We need to paint our hall and up the stairs so will probably try something like that for it.

Going to do the dining room next week I think and Cliff's going to attempt some tiling in the kitchen!

I'm painting at the moment  I bought an 18 litre tub of white emulsion and a big roller ... Might do some body painting first.. ;)

We have a light orangey colour for the dining room, same as the living room colour. Going for cream in the hall probably but I'd like a bit of colour in the kitchen too.

Huddy, the Crown 15L white emulsion was a bargain at B&Q.

The issue is getting to the edges as the wall will be one colour and the ceiling white. So getting a neat edge there is going to be damn near impossible without either getting closer or building a platform. I did think about getting a painter / decorator in. But at the prices he thought, he can forget it :D

I have the dining room to strip yet which should keep me busy, and allow me to ponder on the stairs/landing

I bought B&Q "new Plaster" with a high opacity. then waterered in down some more.. Managed to get two coats on the kitchen/dinner on last Saturday. It help having kids.. Leanne was doing the walls and I was doing the ceiling :) I'm letting it cure over the week the I might get some Vinyl Silk to finish. :)

I'd like to leave the walls whit but the others are saying it needs colour..
Kitchen is looking good though
