I think I need to setup the league properly. Just looking into doing that now. People can still apply and join even when we're underway I believe, though I'd rather get at least 8 people to make the league a bit more competitive :)
Edit: No, once we're underway no-one else can join, so if other people want to join in please do so quickly :)

Just looking at my stats after the friendly and there are two things I cont find any info on...
In the team training table, what is the colum headed "FT" with the arrows?
Also, in the same table, in the column headed "Form" there are two sets of marks, the taller ones and the dots beneath them. Whats the difference between them and what do they mean?

I see my pre-season recce match wasn't wasted. Classic away game smash and grab.
I suppose you also noticed my keeper was man of the match.;D

Aye. Doing Press Releases never hurts either, even if you waffle on randomly, they can be rewarded with money from your Sponsors, which is always handy :)

As much as you want really. You can set your default team and only make changes when you have to, and that's that. You can also spend a little time each week doing a press release and the sponsor activities to earn some money, changing your tactics, and buying new players. It really is up to you.

Are we playing a cup as well as a league Davey? Don't know whether you've set one up and it's just not due to start until later in the season. If you haven't set one up is it possible to do so mid-season?

We're playing a cup now, just created it. The first cup match is tomorrow, so everyone make sure you get your teams sorted out. Each round is over 2 legs though so you'll have chance to put it right if you lose :)

I have a 1-nil lead to take back to my place. Classic two-legged tactics.
(away goals do count double, don't they?)
You do realise the second legs were played yesterday afternoon?
I went back to my place with a vital away goal at 1-1 only to draw the home leg 1-1 as well and then lose on penalties despite dominating the game. :( And this was against a team I beat 4-0 in the opening league game.

Bleh, while your lot were running rampant I was being held to a 0-0 borefest. The opposition keeper made the xpert eleven this week for shutting us out. :angry:
Kittens got a good keeper there, seems to make man of the match most games. I'm impressed with my two centre backs who've both made the xpert eleven in every single game.
Got a couple of big weeks coming up now which will probably go a long way towards deciding the title. Also got my team in the xpert leagues playing their first league match tomorrow.

Was able to give a few of the youngsters a game today, had a couple of goals disallowed and still managed a nice 6-0.
Makes it a lot easier when the opposition are playing their best striker in defence and defenders up front :p
Bit disappointed in how few managers are looking after their teams really and I'm not sure whether this league will even manage a second season. :(

Unfortunately don't have time to fight my way through the rulebook (took me nearly 20 minutes the other day to try and figure out how to buy a striker whose name I know, but I don't know the agent- after 20 minutes I gave up and logged off).
Said early on I didnt think I'd have enough time to devote to it to make it worthwhile - suspect others are having the same problem.

I'm planning on making it difficult for you. This weekend was the first game in about 5 weeks where I picked my strongest team. I've been busy making sure that as many players as possible get high average form and 100% match experience ready for (hopefully) plenty of skill updates before next season.
I'm liking the squad development aspect of this game, just a shame that that element moves so slowly.

Aye, I know what you mean. I've got a bit of money to spend so I may well buy someone when the transfer window opens up, as my squad is good but definitely needs improving in some areas.
Just had a quick look at your squad. You really should have given your 2 youth defenders a few games. Wouldn't have taken more than 3-4 matches to get them up to 100%, then they'd just have needed the occasional form training and they'd have been almost sure of getting a skill increase, maybe even 2 bars. As it is their season has been pretty much wasted.

I plan on picking some ridiculous formation like 3-4-3 offensive for the final game just to see what happens.
I need double figures to match your GD right?
Need a 17 goal swing over both matches. (Ie you win 9-0 and I lose 8-0)
16 goals will bring it down to goals scored in which I suspect you need to score most if not all of those 16 (without looking at the numbers)

Must admit to being a little disappointed, was my first ever change report and I was expecting more players to show a visible skill increase. Still my squad is looking in decent shape for the new season.

Player skill is actually measured to 1 decimal place but is then rounded to the nearest whole number for display purposes. So you could for example have a 5 skill player whose actual skill was 4.6 who could them improve by 0.8 to put them on 5.4 and they'd still show as a 5 skill player. In contrast a player who is rated at 5.4 who improved by just 0.1 would show a visible increase and become a 6 skill player.
I had 16 players increase and 1 decrease. The 1 who decreased lost a skill bar and of the 16 who increased only 5 had a visible incease.

6 up, 7 down, and it'll teach me to buy old players, as two skill 6 players I bought are now down to skill 4. At least my keeper improved up to skill 6, that'll help.

Just looked through your squad and I can't even find any evidence that you bought any players last season let alone any who's skill might have dropped that far. All I can see is that you started with your original 18 players, brought in 2 youths and didn't let anyone go.

I was using the summary at the bottom of the report which has blue blocks on the left for Sahas and blue blocks on the right for Ronaldos.
Overall there about a dozen pluses, a few no-cange and a handful of old timers past their best.

To play the game with minimum involvement you could get away with only logging in once a week however I'deally recommend logging in every 3-4 days otherwise you risk missing out on a youth player.
On a weekly basis the main things you need to do are:
Check the result of the last match (And maybe watch the game so you can later claim to have been robbed) I also then look at the match report as well as my player ratings (Under "Last Lineup") and my player form changes as well as the "xperteleven" (which is basically the team of the week)
Deal with any messages/Youth talents in your mailbox
Get your million econ for the sponsor activity
Form train any players who you feel need it.
Maybe go shopping for a new player if you've got a few million in the bank.
Pick your best 11 plus 5 subs (Most weeks this won't need changing unless you have injuries/Suspensions to deal with) for the next game.
Try and guess what tactics your opponent will be using and try to pick a formation/tactics to counter this.
Obviously there's a lot more to it than that if you want to put in plenty more time but that's not the point of writing this.
Any other tips I'm happy to give out on a question and answer basis rather than trying to cover all the bases.

I've done it now, but for some reason it's now changed our fixtures to Thursdays and Sundays. I definitely had Wenesday and Saturday selected when I pressed the button as well. Very strange :/
Didn't realise it would put me in the league again.
If someone can find how I can quit it, let me know please as I don't want in again.
All I can find at the moment is how to resign 2 weeks from the end of season.
Think it might be too late now the season has been started unless Davey has an option to stop the season before the first game then restart.
Ah well. I'll be an easy win then :p

At the moment teams aren't exactly in demand but if anyone else wants a team I'm sure we can arrange to have you replaced.
Might be too late in the season but are we having a cup this time around? Also need to start thinking about next season. Various managers have been sacked due to inactivity which I'm assuming is an automated thing which currently leaves us with 5 managers left one of which (Leo) can't be far from getting the boot either (Last Logged in 30th Jan and I think the system sacks automatically after 3 months of inactivity).
I don't think the game is going to let us start a new season with less than 6 managers so we need to find another 1 or 2 at a minimum to either take teams over or start new teams next season, I'm thinking we should start on this sooner rather than later by trying to cajole people from the forums to get involved then if we still haven't got enough by the time the new season rolls around we might have to open it up to outsiders in some way.
