This is on HUKD for only £29, the board game is good and the 360 version comes with 'Buzz' style wireless handset which I am sure other compatable games will be released for.

I have ordered it, should be a good party game :)

Scene the controllers for these (<see what I did there?)
They look a bit bizarre but the game should be good as the board game is fun.

It looks quite fun, may well consider it at some point. It'd be great for Christmas.

I have the board game and it really is cool, the integration of the controllers will I suspect, be a great addition to what is already a very fun game. As long as there are a reasonable number of questions and you don't think its something you can play to death then it will be great for one offs at parties etc.

Davey, I can bring it at the weekend if you think you'd like to try it/ get a chance to play it.

You can certainly bring it Matt, though whether we'll get time to try it is another matter :)

Sorely tempted to get this as we have the board game and we all love it. Would be interesting to say the least. Do you think they could a guitar hero and give you the option to download more questions and what not?

Could they? Yes, most definitely.

Will they? Depends on how it sells I think, whether it's worth putting the time and effort into doing it.

Has anyone got round to playing this yet?
Half tempted to get it as a family Christmas present type thing as we tend to play board games and quiz games over Christmas anyhow. :)

Haly

Ooh didn't realise there was a demo *goes looking*

Haly

Well that was a huge Christmas hit :D
We loaded it up for one game before some presents and ended up playing for a couple of hours. Excellent fun :) My Dad was a bit slow on the uptake at first with the controllers but got the hang of it fast enough and is very keen to play again.
Even appeased my achievement whoreness with nearly 500pts :p

We'll certainly be playing that lots over Christmas :D

I'm tempted to get it, how fun do you think it would be with just 2 people? Is it more a game for 4 people do you think?

Haly
26-12-2007, 12:01
I think it'd still be fun :) We've been playing it with 3 and I think it just comes down to how loud and involved the people get :D
Only thing I can think of is if one person is significantly better than the other at it, then it could get a bit predictable.

We picked it up today in the sales, not had chance to play it yet though :)

Gonna go look for it tomorrow...

Do the buzzers just buzz, or does the Xbox know who's buzzed first?

What sale and how much Daz? If it's a good price I may well get it myself :)

The xbox knows. There's a little infra red thingy you plug into the 360 so it picks it up.
Can't remember if it makes a sound in game, I've forgotten :o

Sounds good Haly :)

£29.99 at PC World. Available as mail order or collect in store. That's the cheapest I've seen it.

Haly

Worth every penny imo :D
Think I paid £34.99 off amazon.

Daz

It's £29.99 in Sainsbury's as well :)

Had a quick go last night and another today, nice and chilled out and enjoyable. I particularly liked the movie posters round, very clever.

Got it for £37 in HMV with some vouchers I had left over from my birthday, and just had a quick game with Lynnie. Very enjoyable and will be even more fun with more people I think :)

Haly

Heh, I literally just got back from playing and gaining a 114k score :D
Was it short or long play you lot were doing? :D

Garp
01-01-2008, 22:34
Did a bit of both, but long game primarily. Long was the one Belmit pulled off 110k somethingorother. Some real achievement whoring took place in rather scary quick succession where Belmit was concerned!

Belmit shall hereby be banned from playing the game ever again ;D

Haly

A lot of the high point scoring seems to depend on the last round, with the 114k score I got, it was just because I knew all the answers so got the 10x multiplayer.
Great fun though :D

Those second and third rounds can be killers, I've been up to nearly 30k after the first round and then ended up around 20k going into the Final Cut

Ordered this yesterday from Play for £35. Added Stuntman:Ignition too as I enjoyed messing about on the demo and it was only £15. Got 4% quidco on that too :)

Had few games on this now and really pleased with it. It's a nice little party piece and the games don't last too long on the short game so you're not tied into it for hours. Liking the variation on all the different game themes as well, especially the picture guessing one where all the bits warp into place. Only thing I'd like to have seen was some online play. Thought it would have been really simple to do with this.

Belmit
09-01-2008, 14:06
Was going to ask if there was an online option as I couldn't really justify getting it otherwise. Would have been a nice addition.

Daz

I think it was time tbh. They had to rush the thing together in time for christmas - and it shows in all the loading screens and saving achievements/seen puzzles (no way with all the oomph the 360 has they couldn't do a lot of that in the background). Still a good party game though, no doubt.

Desmo
09-01-2008, 14:38
Yeah, seems a bit odd with all of that saving stuff. I don't mind a message, but one will do. It seems to show you what it's doing for each player.

I wonder if lag may have something to do with it. Given that some rounds are done with the buzzer, I wonder whether the lag of some people may be enough to mean that although they press first, someone else may get registered as beating them. Obviously the player would probably not know it, but I wonder whether it was at least a consideration for them. It is a shame though, it would be a blast online.

Desmo
09-01-2008, 17:02
I thought about that Davey, but they could still have done the other games where you just each take your guess against the points timer, just leave the "buzzing in" out of the online game.

Daz

Not sure I buy that myself. You could argue the same about any FPS and they manage just fine.

They manage but it's not perfect, and lag does play a part at times. I can recall several times when playing COD4 online and shooting at people the moment I saw them, only to die quickly. The kill cam showed them shooting at me before I was shooting at them, something which didn't appear to be the case. I can only explain that away as a slight lag on my part. In FPS games I don't mind as I probably kill people in the same way, but in a game like Scene It it could be the difference between winning and losing.
