View Full Version : Well that was odd....

I was out last night after watching the RWC final and having been to a club by the time I got back home wasn't feeling very much like sleeping so I decided to sit down at my desk and check a couple of forums. Nothing particularly odd about all this except that I discovered there was a mouse in my printer. I mean, seriously, of all the places that you could set up home why pick a printer - they are usually hot, noisey and likely to give a nasty paper cut to delicate mouse unmentionables. :o Then I discovered that the little sod had been taking nibbles out of the juggling balls that I'd left on my desk, obviously not the cheap old set I've had for years but the new and vaguely expensive set I'd just bought - now what makes this all the more strange is that I'd also left a bar of good chocolate on the desk which was completely untouched. One good thing about the mouse sitting in the printer was that I could just close the paper door and take it outside without harming it, moral of the story is that HP Laserjets make a good mousetrap. ;D

Anyone else had any complete WTF moments recently?

We have a mouse running round our kitchen, i'm currently setting up my printer there to see what happens, not sure if it'll work though being a cannon :(

Haven't got to worry about mice - they'll be able to smell the boys and will avoid.

Had one in the flat before though - Mic thought I was imagining it as we were in the attic flat of a newly converted town house.
He kept saying we'd see dropping or something but it was only because I as sitting watching TV when Mic was on nights and it walked into the room, looked at me for a moment and then scampered away that I even realised it was there.
Mic only believed me once I put down crackers and they vanished.

^ I had a mouse in my bedroom once when I was living by the wedgewood rooms, I was in bed watching southpark on my poota and it crawled out from under the sink and said hello to me!

Weird because there were no holes/gaps for it to get through!
So it was officially trapped in my room when the door was shut

I would have thought a cannon would have been overkill for a mouse! :p

Well its good that you found it and put it back outside. Would they come back in though?

You just reminded me of someone I used to know at uni. I banged on the door, he came and opened it and we walked towards the living room. In the space of 30 secs of him walking down the stairs and opening the door, a mouse had crawled out and decided to pop its clogs on the stairs :D His uni house was pretty nasty though

......... a mouse had crawled out and decided to pop its clogs on the stairs :D.......

Reminds me of the song "A Windmill In Old Amsterdam".

Chorus:
I saw a mouse!
Where?
There on the stair!
Where on the stair?
Right there!
A little mouse with clogs on
Well I declare!
Going clip-clippety-clop on the stair
Oh yeah

:D

I thought I had seen some mouse droppings on my floor not long ago but it turned out to be new-sock-fluff.

My mum saw a mouse in the garage, she wanted to move out of the house (she's very scared of mice).

My parents house before they moved to Spain had a mouse in the spare bedroom. 1 wall was made up of just wardrobes so it lived under there apart from when it popped out and said hello :)

They certainly can do, at my parents house they would come back if you don't put them a long way away, it is a really old cottage so plenty of ways in and out. Here I'm up 3 flights of stairs so I hope it takes the hint and stays away, I've emptied the bins and I'm trying not to even leave any foodstuffs lying on my desk just in case though.

We had a mouse in our house not long after we moved in. Friendly chappy would run back and forth in the living room even when we were there. Turns out he'd discovered some Museli in a bottom drawer (big mistake) in the kitchen and was going back and forth to there under the floor boards for the most part to get food.
Cleared up the mess (and mouse droppings) and a few weeks later he vanished, presumably off to pastures new.

Our cat's killed a few mice recently - was tempted to roast 'em, but there wasn't enough meat on them :(
