Can anyone recommend any? I've got a few already, and a couple on the way:

Poseidon Adventure
Airport
Airport 1975
Airport 1977
Airport 1979 (did you know that the Concorde they used for that film is the one that sadly crashed?).

On the way:

Towering Inferno
Earthquake

Any other quality classics?

Ta!

A night to remember from 1958
The Hindenburg from 1975
The Swarm from 1978

Not so much classics, but still fall in the genre...

Twister
Day after tomorrow
War of the worlds

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three
The Andromeda Strain
The Cassandra Crossing

The Towering Inferno has to be the Daddy of them all. Paul Newman AND Steve McQueen!!!

Hmm, some interesting suggestions :)

Didn't know they made a film of andromeda strain. Great book :)

I've got day after tomorrow and war of the worlds (even got the silly tom cruise one :o).

Cheers, will look at some reviews :D

A Night to Remember (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051994/)

Great film about the Titanic, I've got the DVD, it rocks. OK, everyone knows what happens in the end but at least there's no dodgy love story (sadly, there's no Kate Winslet baps either).

I'm not sure whether theyre exactly what you're after, but Assault on Precinct 13, Farenheit 451, Maximum Overdrive and The Quiet Earth are also pretty good.

Alos, take a look at these lists:

Assault on Precint 13 is pretty good :)

I reckon this thread should be renames "Films with George Kennedy in?". Walking disaster magnet :D

Just watched Earthquake. I've seen it before as I recognised some bits. Cheese :D

Got a funny feeling I've seen night to remember and it's a goodun - will add it to the to buy list.

Just looking through the wikipedia list now, cheers :)

edit: oooh, philadelphia experiment, I think I saw that one about 20 years ago too!

Most of those are rubbish though.
