Its really annoying me. Totally blank emails. What kind of half assed spam is that? Its not selling me anything. Its totally empty.

Get them every now and then. I don't rate spammers that highly on the evolutionary scale, but it takes a special breed to be so inept as to have obtained all the tools to send spam and then be unable to use them.

Like all other spam, it isn't worth getting wound up over. Delete and forget. There are far more important things to life than worrying over a few dozen empty emails.

I seem to be getting a lot and Mail isn't noticing them as spam meaning I have to keep deleting them. It does seem completely pointless to spam nothing.

Aye, I get a few sometimes. Utterly pointless....as is most spam.

My junkmail folder is enormous now - I spend a lot of time tweaking my junk mail filters, but these sometimes manage to slip through. It's quite frustrating.

I just use CloudMark Desktop. I pay $2/mo for someone else to tweak my filters. ;)

That's why they are sending it though, proves they can get it through and the spam filter companies have to try and come up with some way of stopping it. Which generally means the spammers are then able to exploit another method as a result.

Before it was pictures, then it was copying chunks off data off websites to make it look like text but the antispam wised up and used text searches to find out if it was just copied, then it's a load of different bits of copied text which they can't pick up as easily. Blocking blank emails will no doubt make it harder fo legit email to come through.

They aren't as stupid as they look :(

I get these as well. Along with the usual ones asking me if I want a massive cock and pills to keep it hard and dodgy software (I'm perfectly capable of finding my own thank you :p) and shares ........... the list is endless.

I'm getting so many now that I'm thinking of scrapping my current e-mail account and creating another account to try to stem the flow for a bit. Even with Spam Assassin on one end and Outlook 2003's junk filter on the other (using Evolution on the laptop here is a nightmare - it's junk filter is pretty pants) I still get about 10 a day making their way into my inbox (on top of the 40 or 50 in my junk folder).

I have three accounts - one for forums (expected it to get spammed, and sure enough), one for personal (didn't want spam there, but got it), and one for shopping (expected spam there, didn't get it). Go figure. :)

I wouldn't know if I got blank spam. It all gets deleted based on reading the title and sender. I very rarely need to actually look at the contents to be sure it's spam.

Is it just me that never gets spam?

*thats not a cue for mods to sign me up to some*

I never seem to get any junk mail and I've had the same email address since hotmail.co.uk was introduced.

You either

Have an email address that contains something that commonly gets filtered (spammers tend to avoid some groups of addresses in order to try and avoid spam traps).
Never give your email address to anyone.
Have discovered that nobody loves you (or hates you for that matter).
Have been lucky. Don't jinx it.

i'm in the same boat. day .co.uk was launched. use this address for pretty much all the forums i use, and it's down publicly as my contact address quite a few places. i maybe get 1 a month.

Thats because Microsoft have reasonable spam filters in place, filtering even before it hits your indbox. I get maybe one or two a day now on my main hotmail.com address; but that is a huge improvement from how it used to be (30+ a day) and this is an e-mail address thats appeared on usenet posts.

Well it looks like the spammers are winning because more and more legit email I'm sending is being regected as spam. So this week it's been a reply to a friend emailing me, then their irritated message a few days later when I 'didn't reply' and some holiday photos I tried to send to my gran :(
