you know, the sort of bargain you tell everyone about because you can't believe what a great deal you got.
the sort of bargain that makes you smile every-time you think about it.
today i bought this bike
http://washford.scene7.com/is/image/Washford/400-918441?$prod$
an Apollo FS.26S, (with dual suspension, 21 speed Shimano gears, 7005 Aluminium frame, Suntour branded front fork, and disc brakes) that Halfords advertise at £149
I also got a free £20 cycle accessories voucher, a £10 Halfords voucher and a years servicing (for the bike, fnar fnar) and guarantee
and paid the grand total of...
£60!
it was 'second hand' because it had been traded in for a larger frame after the first owner realised it was a bit to small to ride comfortably!
yay!
so what bargains have you had recently?
Wow, a WHOLE bike for £60!!! Looks like a decent one too. Were you looking for a bike or were you just in the right place at the right time? I swear they were a lot more expensive when I was little.
We got our shelves in the lounge at a reet bargainacious price. Leon got all 3 glass shelves for £1.20 (+ £10 P&P) off Ebay and said to me "right, you can buy the brackets". So we went into B&Q expecting to pay more for the brackets than the shelves, and found these 6 brackets for 50p each in the clearance. There were only 6 left of the same type/wood. Dead pleased :)

ooooh nice shelves!
i think i saw them in a pic with leons 'toys' on - hehe, so they've gone to good use!
in real terms, i'll use the accessories voucher (need lights etc) and Jasper will no doubt spend the £10 voucher on car stuff - so it cost me £30! (well thats the way i'm working it out in my head - it makes me feel less guilty for spending money i don't really have!)

For £60 i suppose you can't go wrong, but i'm not sure if its a bargain :p Im a bit of a bike connoisseur maybe though. I generally get a lot of stuff second hand which i suppose does and doesnt constitute as a deal since it *is* second hand but is still a good deal... Im looking at some £500 second hand bike right now actually and maybe getting in to road biking as opposed to breaking every bone in my body mountain biking... :D
£60 for a bike is indeed amazing, I am same with Alex, a bit of a bike "connoisseur" :p
My best bargain lately has been my Nokia N95, brand new - ish off a friend. £100, it's a contract only phone at the mo from all the networks and i am using it as a PAYG, it still can fetch £250-£300 on the bay, so dead chuff with that.
