Two weeks before my birthday and the biggest gaming release weekend in history, my so called repaired Xbox 360 has died with the 3RROD. I'm not a ******* happy bunny :angry::angry::angry::angry:

Gutted for you mate, absolutely gutted :'(
Do what I did. Go to Tesco and buy one, then take it back the next day.

So very tempting. Very very tempting. Did they give you any trouble?

Mine's still in the box from when I moved. You're more than welcome to borrow it if you want - I hardly use it anyway so I won't miss it for a few weeks while your's gets fixed (again). I'm not back until Friday but I'm sure Kelly would be happy to bung it in the post if you want :)
:( Gutted mate. I know how much of a big thing it is for you :( Hope it gets sorted ASAP.
Gutted for you, nokkon, died too when he got to the lan. Bad day for the 360. Feek, what reason did you give tesco for the refund?
Gutted for you :( Completely gutted much like Leo said. That is such bad ****ty luck for you :(

None whatsover. No questions, arguements or anything. They didn't even open the box to check what was in there. I'd paid cash and they refunded cash. They took my name and address but didn't even ask for any ID to check.
Gutted Davey :(
Another ****er is that with a new console your arcade games wont work under Lynnies profile (assuming you bought them under yours)

Aye Daz, though it's always me logged in anyway. MS are going to get such an earful if I don't bother with the Tesco swap option. I've had this one back less than 4 months. I don't want this one fixed, I want them to send me a brand new replacement.
A girl at work had a similar thing - Had their box repaired a year or so ago, it failed again just earlier this year, she got it back and then it broke again within a month.
Shouted at them on the phone, got a brand new replacement and blagged a game as compensation.

That's what I'll be trying, having 2 fail within 4 months simply isn't good enough. Never mind the timing of it all what with all the games coming out, it would be rubbish at any time of the year.
The other bad thing with sending it back is that 6 weeks takes me right up to Christmas so there's a chance I may not have it back by then.
FS :( Really sorry to hear this dude. 6 weeks is stupidly long :(
That is a proper bitch. I'd be a bit pee'd off but the amount you use yours, you must be well and truly pissed.

Just a though Davey and I know it involves money but you couldn't consider buying a secondhand unit, or trading some games against one and then selling it when you get your old one back? There should be some 2nd hand units floating about what with the Elite in wide release now
Just an idea

i did that as well... although i waited 4 days.
all that they had to do was phone the manager for approval (standard staff can't issue refunds over £20) and he just said yes straight away and i was given my £250 back :D
even gave them my oldest controller back :D

When did you buy it and where from? I bought mine in Game, when it died I took it back told em what was wrong and they just gave me a new one (got to keep my Hard-drive).
If it's within 3 years of purchase it shouldn't be a problem as MS made the warranty 3 years free for everyone due to the 3RROD issue

This is the 2nd time mine has died (the other was in July), and I tried the same thing then. Gameplay, who I bought it from, would only go as far as paying for me to get it repaired. It was more hassle than it was worth to argue for more, simply because I could get MS to do it for free.

Indeed there are a lot of Elites around now. Thanks to my wonderful, beautiful fiancee who I love lots, one of them will be delivered to me next Monday. I wubs my Lynnie! \o/
I'll still get my other one fixed, and I'll still be giving MS merry hell. We'd always planned on having a 2nd one at some point anyway (so Lynnie can kick me upstairs to play games when there's something on TV, or when the girlies come around), this has just sped the whole thing up a bit more. :)
Awww, glad to hear you're getting an Elite next week. Yay for Lynnie :D
Glad it's all sorted out although definitely give em hell about it going wrong so fast.

nice to hear about the elite :) jammy get ;D
You gonna try and source a data transfer kit Davey or just stick with the 20GB HDD on the Elite? :)

I'm loaning one from a guy on OcUK, should hopefully have it before the Elite arrives on Monday, so I can transfer everything over right away and start using the 120GB HDD as the primary one :)
Played. Good timing really with VMP and Xbox 1 downloads on the cards. 20GB is pittance really.
