Woo, just had my best round in ages on Pipeline, 22-8 with an 11 kill streak in the middle. Was nice to finally call in a sodding chopper again as it'd been ages since I did it. Finally feel like I'm starting to improve again :)

My Mum likes going to a cinema that's within the University grounds, they don't do Orange Wednesday and they do films that haven't been on mainstream in months (i.e. The Oxford Murders is tomorrow which was out in the Winter iirc). She books the tickets in advance, it was mainly for my Dad's sake as he needed an aisle seat at all times due to his arthritis. So that's why we've still got this lot left!

Things improved once we got away from those French demons we were just getting slaughtered. They all had the same weapons and the same perks, the only way to combat stopping power and deep impact is to jugg yourself...then again that'll annoy mic ;D

IW can harp on about Jugg and SP cancel each other out but I know for a fact last night that I emptied clip after clip into the other team and the just kept coming. That lag was quite bad too.

No worries about adding him, it's good to bolster your friends list. Tell him if he sees any of us online and wants to join in I'll start a party for him. I know he had trouble connecting to me last night so can you ask him if he opened the ports on his xbox? I could play online fine on my own but last week I had to add the ports in order to play with everyone else.

I have to forward my ports to host Crackdown games for some reason. For every other game UPNP works fine, but for Crackdown it complains. Annoying but solvable!

I found the same with gears and cod4. As we moved bb providers I just forgot to open the ports but the wireless box actually has an xbox live setting which has the ports in it :) just set it up for the iBook mac address and the xbox sprang to life.

Well just tried my first hardcore game this morning and OMG it is different. I never knew how reliant I was on the hud, the lack of the map isn't too much of a loss but not knowing the score or my ammo amount is a big change. Still managed to top my team with a 25-11 k/d score though we lost :( useless team members :p

My stealth class is rather useless in hardcore mode as the map is only visible when the UAV is up. One good thing though is I've rediscovered the the G36C and it rocks :cool:

When I am round at my mates playing CoD4 we *only* play in Hardcore, I don't think I have ever played the game in anything but hardcore.

to be honest hardcore makes a lot of the perks redundant but softcore is always good for a laugh.

Tonight is a good example of why I don't play domination alot because you can get blocked in and it's impossible to get out and you can't capture any more flags. I say we should try search and destroy next week.

I have only really played the one on the ship, the teeny one with the cargo containers and the arabic yard one. Learning new maps along with everything else is a bit O_O although I did start to get a decent number of kills towards the end :)

Hahaha I remember saying they were on top and you then said "not any more" ;D

Knowing the maps does make a huge difference because you know where bottlenecks can occur and shortcuts to avoid large groups of enemies.

Heh, I made sure I had my sound turned up nice and loud, so I could generally hear any grenades drop if I killed someone (Jen definitely had it on that I remember). :)

I did for the most part :D I loved my shottie class, so much violence could be had and I held my own fairly well with it :D I don't do subtlety ;D I switched to m16 every now and then (didn't have martyrdom on then) but it was nowhere near as fun.

What was that skorpion class you were talking about Leo? Might give that a shot sometime :)

I was using a silenced M16 for pretty much every match. I know with no map it doesn't make a huge difference, but it was nice to remain invisible when people managed to get their UAVs online :) Also nice on Hardcore mode in that a single 3-round burst is enough to kill anyone if you hit them, which is always nice :D

If you get close it kicks ass and is not bad from range if you keep the bursts short.

I thought Gameplay stopped shipping early? I know a game I ordered came on a Friday before (first time in 10 years) and someone had said they had been warned about breaking the early sales rule/law. Dunno if it was just that one game, but that's why I turned to ShopTo who have been unbelievable so I haven't looked back.

I know what you're talking about, and actually spoke to a couple of Gameplay guys about it, and they said they were getting into trouble with publishers for it, but I'm sure I've had games early from them since that. I must admit, I do have a special affinity for Gameplay. Always loved their envelopes and before that, cardboard boxes. Always made them different. Also liked how they weren't recorded so the postman didn't wake you up on the occasions that you weren't in desperate need of playing a game.

I guess I stuck with ShopTo when I ordered a Component Cable for my Playstation 3 and it was at 5.25pm and ShopTo ship at 5.30pm (later than the other companies so people can finish work and order stuff - nice) and whilst I was on the phone the guy rang the control room and told them to delay everything 10 minutes so that they could process an order for me.

The next day at 9am I had my Component Cable. I just thought that customer service was incredible.

I hate the fact they don't offer any loyalty bonuses at all (especially after I added up all my previous orders this morning and realised I'd spent over £2000 with them!), but I love how reliable the are. I've never had a game later than the release date, even with Lego Batman which I ordered at about 3pm on the Wednesday before release. At least 90% of my pre-orders with them have come a day early. If that stops completely though, I may start ordering from Game instead as that way I can earn loyalty points for future discounts.

Gameplay do offer loyalty bonuses, I have been using Gameplay for years and I got an email from their loyalty scheme a couple of years ago with a code which I input at checkout which gives me 5% off. Only £2 off a £40 game but brings it into line with shopto. :)

Shopto have been nothing but trouble for me, twice they have declined my card on games I have had on preorder and I ended up missing them on release day. They can shove it from now on, back to gameplay! :)

Reminded me of Counter Strike in places with the movement. Need to get more accurate with the zoom aim, you have to be quite gentle on the sticks. Surprised me at first.

I may try and get this setup on the projector later.

;D I expected to be a lot worse, not played CoD4 in a long time! :o Quite glad with my performance for the most part :)

TDM is the way to go to start with and use all the weapons to get up to 75 kills

EDIT: Forgot to say when I pretieged for the first time I rediscovered my love for the M16 and the MP5. If you can keep your aim steady and have stopped power you'll drop most people with an M16 with the 3 shots.

I think with the M16 Mick you have to be very slow and methodical. It's no use in CQB so smaller maps like Vacant it wouldn't work on.

However stuff like overgrown, countdown, backlot and the one with the buses in the middle, it works well on them.

The noob tube rocks if you know how to use it. I killed Leo in Vacant with it by knowing which wall he was next to and aiming at the wall, relying on the splash damage to get him :D

My favourite weapons of choice are the M16A4 and the P90. I've not unlocked the P90 yet on my run through Prestige so I need to spend some more time online if I want to get that again. Of course, I love my sniper rifles though as my accuracy and timing were off last night I decided against them for the most part.

I love Crossfire for sniping, there are at least 3 good spots where you can cover your back with claymores and concentrate on not getting shot from the front.

there is a great spot if you are planing domination on that map so you can keep the bottom flag ;)

I've never had chance to play COD4 or COD:WAW- I've not seen them for sale anywhere of recent for less than £30 and I tend to only buy games when there are deals involved! :p

I'd really like to get a copy though so I can enjoy some multiplayer action with some chums :) Everyone please keep your eyes peeled for 'bargainous' copies! :)
