View Full Version : Hmmm physically stuck in my room.... Help?

Radiator (of the large 8"+ variety) just fell off the wall and against the door. I can't get out, what do i do? I've kinda exhausted all my ideas, but in the meantime we have a plumber coming round with a ladder hopefully...

Scenario:
Door wedged shut apart from an inch i can open it
1st floor flat (but with old georgian/victorian rooms for height) so can't really jump.
Hot water can't be turned off as i can't get to it
Flatmates aren't in just yet, phoned them
Can't get a bucket to drain the said radiator so i might have a chance of moving it
dont want to break the pipes...
Cant take the door off and the hinges are recessed and can only be done when the door is open

Yeah, so help?

Go back to bed and take advantage of the fact there's nothing else you can do? :D

Hang out the window bare chested & wearing a Wooly hat Screaming HELP RAPE, Or ring the Brigade & pretend you are a woman nekked stuck in the bath.

You could always just hang out the window & drop down, it's not that far. (Ingore this if you live in a high rise flat set up :p )

Sorted :D Well kinda, plumber came round a lot quicker than expected, so i was allowed to rag the radiator away from said door/wall, making it haemorrhage water, which was then their job to fix :D Theyre still doing it now, they've gotta reattach it to the wall, drain it, take up half the floor to get to underlying pipes before i can leave to go to lectures - oh what a shame ;D

I would have suggested against that due to the danger of having a plumber appear at your window mid fapfap. Thats not the leak he was called to fix ;)

All sorted, super quick, i'm very pleased, fixed our bathroom tap and few other niggles around the house too, as well as making a note of coming back to fix the washing machine (yeah nout much works here)...
