View Full Version : I just love dealers!
The van is a few hundred miles overdue for its 12500 mile first service. Finally found time to get it in to the dealer today. The logistics manager at work booked it in by phone and specifically requested a loan car.
So I turn up, and they take the keys and fill in a form and try to run off. Er, what about my loaner? How do I get home?!
Oh, do you need one then?
So they bring one round, and another form is filled in. It says it has 1/4 tank and should be returned with the same amount.
I get in, and it won't start, and the display thing is flashing "Warning Too little fuel!!!" or something like that. Not low fuel but too little. After 4 attempts I gave up and threw the keys back at them.
Next one has half a tank (but the paperwork still says 1/4), so I think yay I can put some miles on it. But no. Has anyone ever driven a Citroen C3? Utterly horrid thing to drive :(
Give me my van back!!!!
This is the first time I've ever taken a vehicle in for a service, and the first time I've ever had a loaner. Think I'll stick to doing my own servicing
Not the most helpful dealer I've heard of :(
Least it's only for a few days?
Oh I've got the van back already. But apparently it has a "significant" oil leak from the gearbox. Parts won't be available until next week. So it has to go back to them. Uh oh!
I had a loan of whatever the smallest engined Polo you can currently get when I took my company car in for service the other week. At the time I was doing about 300 miles a day on average and even having covered extra the previous day so I could go a bit easier on whatever they were gonna loan me I still ended up having to cover a good 250 miles.
At the start of the day it sounded nice and smooth, by the end of the day with a few near-death experiences and some revving the balls off it to try and make some forward motion it didn't sound quite so sweet  :p
Worst part is I'm now only a couple of weeks away from needing the cam-belt changed - gonna have to try and go for a day when I'm not expecting to go far :o

Back in 2000, my Dad and Step Mum had a 7 series BMW. Unfortunately my Dad was suffering from cancer, and my Mum had to get back to him just in case.
She drops the car off and asks for a loan car. Sorry, can't do that. So then she asks if there is any chance of someone dropping her off at a bus stop so that she can get back home. The numpties wouldn't even do that ... funnily enough, we complained, the Manager got a b*****ing and they never used them again.
Don't blame them after that! :jawdrop:
Two weeks later, still no leak fix. Logistics bloke rang the dealer - "we'll ring you right back".
That was 9am this morning. Shock horror, no ring back.

Part 2. Note the date of when they said they'd have the bit. Finally got it back in today after a couple of weeks of badgering. Was booked in last week, and a courtesy van was requested (again). Also mentioned at the time was that the passenger headlamp was pointing at the floor (I spanked a peas...pheasant a week or so ago - no external damage, but something was cracked inside and it pointed down).
Turned up, and they had it booked in to do some internal display or something. Huh? CHanged that to gearbox and headlamp. And shock horror, no courtesy van. Took them ages to find a car. So I had to load a ton of stuff into this poor little ****roen C3 ;D
...
Just collected the van. All fixed apparently. And they said the headlight just needed adjusting. Yeah right. Going to have a look in the daylight. Hopefully they've changed the innards and kept quiet as it looked like it was typical french car flimsyness!
I still hate dealers.
