I know at least one person who has already put their tree up. I didn't bother last year but will probably be putting some up in a couple of weeks time this year.

So who already has decorations up? When do you put them up/take them down?

My tree always looks carp as I'm rubbish at decorating and just end up throwing things on any old way and smothering it in tinsel :o

We're having a real tree again this year so we wont be putting it up as early so that we can have more than a pile of twigs on Xmas day :p Hopefully it will be getting delivered again, although I know Phil is dying to put one on the back of the MR2.

Can't think about anything too Xmassy until after my exam, but I hope to persuede Phil to at least let me put the tinsel up the weekend after. Thing is we might need some more tinsel as the old stuff was kinda measured for the old house and I think this room is bigger.

I always decorate at work, I'll be doing it early next week. Mrs. Feek does it at home and it normally gets done just after LMFs birthday on the 7th.

They stay up until 12th night.

I would love to have a real tree but have a feeling the pine needles would end up as rattie food and I'd end up with rattie skewers

Stitch loved the last tree we had! He would go and sit on all the pressies and try and open them, and try and eat the tree, and the baubles, and everything really.

If i had a real tree Frank would just Piss up it & get electrocuted :D
I think i'll get one of those mini fake jobbys & keep it high.

Aww ;D Maybe once we sort out the living room properly I'll look at rat proofing it properly so they can free range around the room but atm they're restricted to the sofa, a person or my desk

My neighbours have had decorations up for a couple of weeks now, only inside the house though. They're always nuts about Christmas :)
We probably won't have a tree up till the middle of December, it's usually when we do. Always get a real tree, they just look nicer imo :D

I read somewhere recently that you are supposed to put up decorations 12 days before Christmas and take them down 12 days after.

But thats pants because you don't get as long to appreciate them.

Going to the £1 shop this weekend to get some more deccies for the tree and might get Rob to get it down this weekend :) going to buy the office a twee too - its only a quid. :)

Sick and tired of Christmas already and its not even December yet! ;D

Not sure how I manage to get involved in Christmas party organising..but somehow I always do.

I suggest that you do not purchase any of the used decorations from this site.

We'll put our tree up whenever my parents collect it from Cannock Chase for us. Carrying on the family tradition of having a beautiful-smelling real tree from the Forestry Commission site there. Should be within the next couple of weeks :) Better get the lights down from the loft and make sure they all work!!! :)

It already has if you look at the bottom left of the screen you can change the forum style ;)

As for me as I'm alone this Christmas I shan't bother, but I never go OTT anyway I like a very plain/simply decorated tree - actually Sinead's is very tastefully done. As a family we don't tend to bother until a couple of weeks before Christmas day. However Christmas for me isn't until the 6/7th (as it's based on the Julian calendar).

I tend to celebrate Easter more though. :)

My tree is usually really funny as I let the kids decorate it. I came into the room one year to find them standing 3 feet away from it actually throwing the stuff at it. What stuck stayed! It was loaded down on one side and bare on the other!

;D

The family tradition in this house is we all stick the decorations up, my Dad continually reminds me not to put the decorations at the edge of the branch or too low, then 5minutes after finishing my Mum spends the next hour rearranging them so they look 'better' :D
