Thats that done then :)
Very much enjoyed it, great story and good control system. I did feel however that it was pushing the 360 to its limits graphics wise, thats not to say the graphics aren't good, they are in fact pretty amazing considering all the cut scenes are rendered on the fly (clothing and facial choices are shown), however we do lose frame rate on a regular basis and the programmers have resorted to cookie cutter weapons to keep the model count down.
So all in all a very good adventure maybe a little short (I got about 20 hours out of it) and if you don't have much of an imagination then its probably got replay-ability, I personally don't tend to replay adventures unless new material is released and Mass Effect will probably get traded relatively soon.

You romped through that quickly
Sounds about right :) I'm pretty near the end, I reckon I should have it done in the next day or so. I will be replaying it though as a renegade as I've been a good guy this time round.
There are a few niggles to it and it's certainly not perfect but I've enjoyed it.
I'm on about 18hrs so I think it'll be about 25hrs once I finish it.

I'm 15 hours in and I've not started any of the main missions available to me after leaving the first planet, I'm roaming around surveying planets and doing side quests. Games like this always take me ages as I like to do and see everything, speak to everyone, and go everywhere. I'll probably be on around 40 or so hours by the time I've finished it once (and I'll definitely be doing it again) :)
i still can't get past benezia!!!
I completed it last night, altogether it took about 25hrs. It's far from perfect, it has some irritating niggles and some of it feels a bit sloppy. A hell of a lot of the sidequests felt the same with the use of the same buildings etc but I still enjoyed the experience and will be going back for more :)
My only real dislike was the Mako, I don't want to drive round a buggy in an RPG :p
I played on casual and didn't really have any problems so I'll try hardcore now.

It sounds a bit like Oblivion in that you can blast through it quite quickly if you ignore all the subquests and side missions. Is this right? I don't own a 360 so I can't try it.
It took me 25hrs including the majority of the sidequests (I know I missed a few but I'd say add a couple of hours to it to cover that) so it's not really got the depth of Oblivion. However I'd say it was a lot more enjoyable than Oblivion.

Finished it in around 15 hours...did a few side missions, but i'm leaving them till my next play through on Hardcore. The Spectre equiptment made it a bit to easy towards the end, especially the shotgun, Gonna try not to use that this time. Finished at level 39, should easily blitz through to 50 now.
Anyone got a digital copy of the xbox360 manual for this? brought it second hand and no manual in the box.. needless to say I feel out of my depth!!!

For the record, in the first post, though it's old, it definitely didn't push the Xbox360 to its max because the second one looks fab.
i never did beat Benezia.

Completed this for a second time on the PC this week. Fantastic game but with some niggling flaws that i really hope they address in the sequel. Looks like i won't have to wait half a year for the PC release this time either, yay!

Or... you could by an Xbox360. You know it makes so much sense.

I would have said that until all the BS with SecuROM and other DRM, Vista compatibility problems, games released unfinished or improperly tested and then 'patched' after release and games which have been made with console focus and then shoddily ported to PC by a third party dev team.
Having said that trying to play Mass Effect with the control pad is as frustrating as using a mouse and keyboard but wearing oven gloves.
Anyone wanna sell me their copy? :D

Must get this back from my sister too :)
Managed to grab a copy of the bay for under 6 quid :D
gotta say im really enjoying it. Some minor niggles tho, specifically long lift journeys and slow running of chars - makes getting around a little time consuming.

Loads of games! I can't understand why someone wouldn't get one!

Even I have a 360!
It's not used and boxed away, but I have one! :D
Admittadly, the only consoles I have linked up to my TV are a SNES and a box that is really a MAME machine.
Punch Out on the SNES was such a good game.

It makes sense in Mass Effect to take one combat team member and one techy/biotic support team member.
You get jumped by a swarm of dudes so you dive for some cover. Whether it's a door or container it has two sides - but there are three in the squad.
If I get Shepherd into position then one of them will try and crowd me out and I end up shooting them in the back because they're in my line of fire, or worse they mill around in the open and get blasted.
So what button do I press to get Tali/Liara to run off and hide out of the way somewhere until the shooting has finished?
