Looks like the Clio will have a buyer, took the son of one of my work mates out in it at lunchtime and hes going to try and sort out a loan ASAP :)
LOL he called when I was typing this to make sure I wasn't going to sell it to anyone else in the meantime ;D.
Gives me a few hundred quid more than the trade in so I'm happy and I can afford to buy Aitch a birthday prezzie :D

Excellent but don't kid yourself, you'll get a £100 pressie tops, the rest will go on new fangled alloy after market gear knobs and such :D ;D
Then you'll take her for a spin in your new ride and hope that makes up for the lack of birthday pressie ;)

Not this time, although I might treat myself to a Wahlen Shift Machine

But she hasn't spent the money I promised her last year so shes off the Harvey Nicks with as much money as I have left over which should be quite significant, I've also promised to go with her for the whole day and not moan

Going to buy her something nice?
You're getting the girly present so something manly and masculine for her? ;)

You need me to organise a squad to kidnap you and force you to go to the pub?
My team is very discrete ;)

Nice one. Though is it a close friend? I'd always be dubious.
Its the son of a woman I work with.
She knows I've looked after it and we trust each other, I spoke to her husband he drove it, they are all aware it is what it is, they decided not to have it AA checked.
If anything goes wrong I'll comiserate and help them find a place to fix it but I told the lad that there is no warenty, I'm not a dealer so you get what you see, if it goes wrong on the way down to Wales then I'll pay to have it mended, fingers crossed it won't :undecided:

Just when I was working out how much I could get for the Focus. Nicely done Matt, I said it was a cracking motor for the price :)

Well done mate :) I know my old housemate is trying to sell hers too - difference is she's not very proactive about it. Glad you got a good price.

Money is in my account and I have to hand over the 172 tonight :(
After 4 years its a shame to see it go and 3 weeks in a 1.1l Metro with 59bhp is going to be hellish
But the MINI should be here but the 14th of September so not toooooo long to wait, its going to feel like a lifetime though :'(
MB
If you get used to driving the Metro (not overly likely I realise), just think how damned quick the Mini is going to feel when you get it!

And its gone :undecided:
Car less now :(
Had some fun times in that Clio, embaressed a few BMW owners and various other hot hatches  but I'm looking forward to this new one showing up (not the Metro)!

Don't do that again, I'm on Reception this morning and I almost herniated myself stifling the laughing.

I'm only borrowing the Metro if I get in a desperate situation, not only is it a pain in the arse to drive I also have to walk half a mile up a steep hill to go and collect it and then walk back so its not ideal for little runs.
Oh I forgot to say to add to its style it has a massive roof rack :puke:

A 59BHP motor AND a massive roof rack??? That's luxury - my first car was a 40BHP Polo with a Tow-Bar!! :D
Just be sure you remember the brakes in that thing are likely to take a tad longer to stop you :embarassed:

bwahahaha I've found someone that beats me on their first motor. If I still had my 45bhp powerhouse polo i'd race you :D Fuel injected baby

hehe excellent!!!
mine was an '82 X-reg PoloC and was a hand me down from my mother via my elder brother who had managed to do the big end bearings in one time by driving it on a long motorway journey with the oil light blinking away - it then went on to my little brother who also learnt to drive in it before ending up being my dad's spare for little journeys and rainy days when he didn't want to get his classic aircooled veedub out
2 previous owners before we bought it at about 5 years old - then 5 drivers in our family (3 of which learnt to drive in it) over about 18 years of ownership
they definately don't make them like that anymore :'(
oh and it was Alpine White which is quite fitting as it's most likely now a Fridge/Freezer in someones kitchen :D
edit: doh! this would probably have been better posted in the "First Car" thread :embarassed:
