View Full Version : New Years Resolutions

A little bit early I know, but I wanted to and am skiving on my last day at work so ner :p

Most resolutions don't last very long, or they just kinda get forgotten about as the year goes on but you never know - this year you may stick to it.

I guess I'd better go first - unfortunately mine are very similar to last years, that isn't so say I didn't make an effort at them, just they are going to take more than 1 year to sort out.

I'd like to reach my target weight - I still have about 8lb to go.
I would like to get out of debt and maybe get some savings.
I would like to buy myself a pole for home.
I want to try and go out more - 90% of my weekends and evenings I spend sat at home doing nothing.

There are many other things I could add to that list, but I think that'll do for now :)

- Stop buying guitars
- Learn to cook more healthily
- Work hard ALL year

I feel being thrown in at the deep end in 3 weeks is going to help me a lot with mine :)

Get a yoga qualification. That's the only qualification I'm doing this year I've decided so I have more time for other things.

Get over The FearĀ©

We'll help you do that! :D We could have a whole weekend dedicated to getting over The Fear! And at the same time, so you don't feel picked on, you could fix my Doll Phobia. Stupid horrible murdering dolls.

Mine are:

1. (Predictably) Stay same weight/lose a wee bit more. Need to do some more exercise. Picky and I are considering a Doggy wog which would help that!

2. Become a successful business lady! I'm very excited about my cards and want to put my all into them. This year I want my website fully operational and would like them to at least be on sale in local private shops. At least!

3. Continue my Open Uni course (commencing date February)

4. See more of my friends. (not in the nekky way. Well.... actually... this could be debatable.)

All nice and simple and achievable. Wooo!

1. Go onto the Pain Management course and make it work.
2. Hopefully get back into some work.
3. Finish A Level (ROFL)
4. Keep my resolution that I will not allow back influences into my life which means growing a new backbone :D
5. Lose some weight (sorry, sort out my eating habits :P)
6. Be happy :D
7. Don't let things get to me so much - life is waaaaaaay too short.

Keep up with the gym/classes in order to maintain a healthy weight, improve fitness and generally make me happy with myself. I've given up saying "lose weight", cos I fail every bloody year :p
Take an evening class in something arty or cookery. Would like to have a go at Indian Cuisine... or pottery.
Be a bit more wise with my money so that I can actually afford to save up for some of the things I want.
Pass my boarding at work (= payrise)
Finish redecorating the lounge (after we've saved up for the plastering to be re-done)
Be a better friend to my nearest and dearest

Same as every year..... NONE!!!

There are aspects of my life that I know I should change like my alcohol and drug intake but to be blunt I enjoy them and am happy with who I am :)

Same as every year..... NONE!!!

This is also probably my safest option when taking your later statement into account....

There are aspects of my life that I know I should change like my alcohol intake

Are you me?

I have one...

I know that for the last year I've been a bit of a reticent, miserable bastard...

This year I aim to be the person I can be. The person who does all he can for his friends and make them smile.

It's within my powers and so there's no need not to do it :)

I just made Feek smile :p

I'm going to

1. Stop being a grumpy git - manage my depression a bit better.
2. Stop procrastinating, things need doing now and not in a minute/later
3. Sort the bloody house out, it's a big job so one room at a time.
4. Show Lom more affection, as some of you know we have had a few probs recently, but we have talked and we are getting better.
5. Shift a bit of my baby weight. ;)

Lose at least 10% bodyfat and be happier with the way I look.

Make more effort to stay in contact with friends - I'm rubbish at replying to emails or texts :/

Cut back on spending money on things that aren't really needed.

I forgot my friend May Ling's bday (ironic innit :p)
AND my sister in laws - although according to my mum we never send her a card anyway... but thats not the point!

I'm getting to work on time though :D

2. Get fit (perhaps related to numero uno. :D)
3. Sort out my CV.
4. Get a job after Uni.
5. Get somewhere to live if work is too far from home.
6. Get a decent degree.
7. Learn a new skill like playing guitar or programming.

Bodyfat is going slowly - currently killing myself at the gym ;D

Effort is slightly better with keeping in contact but could do better

Money is getting better too

Put weight on again
No savings and debt doesn't seem to be going down
Pole is dependent on savings first
Still stay at home
