View Full Version : Interpreting Dreams…

Now even I don’t know if I believe in dream interpretation, I just think its weird I keep having dreams about the same thing, but in different scenarios, for example, and for arguments sake, they are all 747’s:

Dream 1 – I am a passenger on a plane, which plummets to earth and crashes, I can see us falling and everything goes black when we hit the ground, but I am fully aware everything has gone dark, almost like I am dead, but not really.

Dream 2 – I am working in an office block when a plane flies really low overhead, I see its nose come up, almost like its going to do a loop, it swerves sideways and crashes. The flames get closer to my office and we have to evacuate.

Dream 3 – Looking out of my house, I see a couple of planes flying overhead, when suddenly hundreds more appear to form arrow head formations, they all crash in mid air and plummet to the ground. This was my dream only last night.

Writing them down makes me realise just how morbid these dreams really are :p Anyone else have recurring dreams? Or recurring themes? These plane ones are starting to scare me :(

I've been having a reoccurring dream over the past three or so weeks. In it I'm sitting in my living room reading the newspaper.

That's it.

What a boring dream. AFAIK I'm not even paying attention to what it says. I'm just sitting there reading. :o

I dream about planes too, although I tend not to crash them. I suggest you start dreaming about decent pilots. :D

I didn't think dreams reflected anything until about 2 years ago, when I started having the same dream over and over. It was (and is) pointing at something I really want to change about myself.

So yes, I do have a recurring dream and yes, I do think dreams *sometimes* tell you things about your state of mind.

Not nice DD :(

I have an overactive mind... I haven't been able to sleep properly since watching I am Legend.. but whenever its dark I can't help but think of the film and scenes from it :(

I having flying dreams quite often - they are fun!!!

Rob talks in his sleep quite often, which should spook me out but it doesn't... for some reason when it happens I find it quite funny at the time then go back to sleep.

Sleeping is weird.

I've had the same dream about a dozen times now and really hope it doesn't mean anything. It starts off with me being stuck in a cave with a bunch of dwarves in full battle dress trying to find a way out, 15 minutes later we find a way out and step outside where I see a long road leading down to a beach and driving down there is the Mystery Machine and actually on the beach is Elvis playing a guitar. That's the pretty much it :dunno:

OK guys, do your worst with this!

Not so much a dream as sleep....er, sleep vibrations? I don't think it has a name! Anyway, at about 3am the other night I woke up really disorientated thinking an alarm was going off on a phone or something. Scrabbled about on the bedside table and nope, nothing doing. Came around a bit more and realised it was coming from my bedside drawer, which was open. Stuck my hand in (no lights!) and viola! My ickle rabbit was going for it with maximum enthusiasm! I swear I still wasnt awake properly and couldnt figure out how to switch it off (the bit that was going is never..er....used...this really is TMI isnt it!) and spent what felt like half an hour trying to rip the batteries out of it without waking anyone ;) Did it eventually and went back to sleep.

I was going to sleep last night and it suddenly popped into my head and I figured I'd dreamt it. Opened the drawer and there was a poor disembowelled wabbit :( It happened! Couldnt find the other battery either dammit!!! LOL!

What what Freud say?!

When I was on the pill before I had my implant put in I used to wake up halfway through a panicky dream that I'd forgotten my pill to find myself stood by my chest of drawers rooting around for the pill packet. This continued until about 3 months after Id had the implant inserted.

Right then.

The night before last I dreamed a whole James Bond story, from start to finish. It was a new one, one that's not been penned already. All I can remember is the last couple of minutes.

Last night I dreamed that Big Tony had come back from the USA and I had a new pushbike which I was riding from mum and dads house to Big Tony's house.
It broke and I took the saddle off to discover that the string that works the back brake had come loose. As I was standing there working on it, Rory Bremner came along (it turned out he lived in the house I was outside) and loaned me a spanner to tighten the nut that held the string in place. We were a bit concerned because I'd phoned the bike company after the brake had broken and they told me that I wasn't allowed to work on the bike because it would invalidate the warranty but we decided to go ahead and adjust the string and tighten the nut anyway. We weren't able to do it because it needed a star driver as well and he didn't have one.

I was helping to mummify people and then bury them, but they weren't dead so they were being buried alive; this was a punishment for something and they got let out later. I had two really odd dreams last night. The first had me awake with a racing heart, not nice. Basically I was out at a big country park and someone said there was a bloke trying to stab people at the car park. Me being nosey went to have a look and he was an unfeasably tall black man and he stabbed me at the top of my thigh/groin. Next thing I remember is the CID team from my work talking saying they hadnt found him and he was still at large, but that it was well known that once he had tried to kill someone he wouldnt stop until he had. So I had to move into my friends little cottage as it was more secure, but it was too dangerous for anyone to live with me. I had this giant slash wound on the inside of my thigh. I was in the garden and I could see him but he couldnt see me and didnt know I was there and the cottage was so remote I had no way of contacting anyone.

Anyway, I woke up from that one. Then when I went back to sleep I still had the bid injury but I was at a swimming competition of all things, and I was too scared to jump in cause it would sting or I might pull the stitches.

Bloody weird dreams, first one proper rattled me. I'm really spooked at home at night lately too :(

Strangley enough, I had a fricking awful dream last night, but I slept soundly, go figure!

Me and Daz had been plonked on this fully populated island, knowing full well everyone there only had 24 hours to live. It was very 9/11, if the falling buildings didnt kill you, then you would just die when 24 hours was up. We were squished into a tiny room with Pigmo of all people! Daz and Sinead were sharing a crack pipe. Hmmm.

I lost my watch last week and thought I'd left it at the climbing wall but they never found it. Anyway, last night I dreampt that it was in a certain compartment of a bag, even though I hadn't taken that bag climbing. When I got up I had a look and it wasn't there. I then needed to find my keys and I knew they were in the climbing bag, I fished them out and, there's my watch! I must have half remembered where I'd put it in my dream because it was in a small compartment like I remembered in my dream!

I try to when i remember, i had a period of time where i would purposely wake up by alarm to remind me to lucid dream. I was never very good at it, most of the time, even when i knew i was dreaming, i couldnt do what i wanted.

As well as lucid dreaming, i have tried astral projection, i can get so far, but when i clear my mind and i start vibrating, my clear mind swoops away and im left lying like an idiot.

Most recent dream I remember happened a few days ago.

I was at home, but it wasn't our house, just a similar one. Kate had put the house on the market without telling me, in the middle of a housing slump, for a ridiculous sum (something like 40 grand was in my head)

The couple that came to view it were Kates' parents. Except they weren't. The woman looked and sounded like her mother but she was the most disgustingly rude person ever, she openly slated the house, but as time went on I noticed that all the things she was pointing out were true, like the rotten garden fence (even though IRL we have changed the fence and in the dream I had done this too - it had just rotted as if it happened when my back was turned)
All this time the bloke was very amiable and quiet, he had a moustache so it wasn't really Kates' dad but he had a similar manner and he kept pointing out the good bits of the house to his wife. All this time while they were viewing the house I was shouting, no, bellowing at Kate at how furious I was she'd sold the house without telling me and that we'd have to accept whatever this couple offered because "those were the rules"

While Kate carried on showing them around, I felt a twitch in my arm, on the reverse side of my elbow if you get what I mean. Now, I get this muscle twitch in real life too, but in the dream it was accompanied by a noise. I rolled my sleeve up and looked at my arm and there was something living inside it, something green, in a hole that could have been made by something the size of a biro.
I looked closer and realised it was a frog. The twitching in my arm was the frog croaking and breathing inside me :/ So I squeezed either side (like you would squeeze a spot) and slowly this frog was pushed out of the hole in my arm. It was only small (the size of a Bic lid maybe?) but much too big to be living in the hole. As it popped out I grabbed a glass of water and plopped the frog into it. I remember having a real dilemma - could frogs live underwater or would it need a rock to climb out and rest on? I just didn't know.... the hole in my arm wasn't bloody or anything, just looked like an old scar but I could see it was very deep.

Then the dream switched and I was at some sort of street party, there was a grill for kebabs and a massive sort of steamer thing they were cooking curries in - a big copper vat. I am almost certain the woman cooking was Rita Patel from TNT Park Royal (006 ;)) depot and she had made countless kofte kebabs, which I had been eating as they had been coming off the grill, thinking they were all for me. Then someone asked me for one and I said I'd need to ask the chef, she told me that was the lot and there were no more to go around - at this point I realised I'd eaten something like 40 of them.

Matblack was there and he kept asking where his "FAKKIN KEBAB" was because he was "STUAAAAARVIN'" and said he was going to kill whoever took them because it was the height of rudeness.

I think my alarm went off at this point :/

Bleeding christ Leon, thats certainly detailed :D

If I have a cool dream I try my absolute hardest to go over it again and again in my head to remember the key points. When I go to talk or write about it later all the detail floods back, as if I am replaying it in my head.

I'm like that in real life too, if I read something in a magazine, I remember it in the colours and font on the paper, remember if it was on the left or the right page, what was on the opposite page, what pictures were on the page and so on.

Last night I dreamt of snow and ice and howling winds, there was this huge old stone castle/house with big windows but no glass and no doors but huge archways, the snow was blowing into the room, there was no flooring as such, just more stone, there was a big long solid wood table with plain metal goblets, plain flattened metal to be used as plates and long wooden benches either side, there were a few fire lanterns flickering, an open fire place with ashes but no fire, there were people all in huge furs and wools, but still it was so so cold.
I've not been able to warm up all day, the idea, feel, smell of that blizzard and the ice cold stones has stuck with me

We (I think it was some BD-ers) had been to a function there and had booked a Minibus to pick us up, but I cuoldn't find the rest of my group, and was wandering about feeling lost. I also remember I had lost my phone, which is strange as when I actually woke up, my phone was still in my handbag and not on the bedside table where it usually is.

I remember going a bit lucid though and trying to stay asleep to see if I found my friends again - bit odd.

I had a strange and pointless dream where I was being presented with a new item:

A two part Nesquik Cereal Bowl - the bottom half an orange & white bowl, the top half added like a lid, but with a cartoon splat shaped apeture.

The purpose of this bowl was to allow shaking of the ceral to make the milk extra chocolatey (the presenting person kept excitedly telling me it made the milk over 90% more chocolatey than a normal bowl).

I remember feeling distinctly unimpressed, and then they moved onto the grand finale - the splat shaped apeture would be eaten from without a spoon- literally everyone there lifted the bowls to their mouths and guzzled down the cereal - the end of their presentation was topped off with them all standing there doing jazz hands with a splat-shaped outline of chocolate milk around their mouths.

It would seem that Nestle have moved into the brain-advertising market; be afraid!

I had a horrid dream the other night!!

I walked into my house, and this girl walked past me, she was carrying scissors. I asked "who's that?" to the other person (don't know who) in the room and got told "she's the home help."
I then phoned mum and we were talking away. Next thing I feel a hand on my shoulder and she pushes the scissor blade over my throat. Mum's shouting at me on the phone and I try and shout for help and I can just feel the blood bubbling in my throat.

I woke up and could swear I still felt pressure on my shoulder and something on my neck. It was so, so freaky! :(

So I had 2 nightmares last night; 1 made me wake up feeling claustrophobic so I had to open the bedroom door, the other just had me waking up sat upright and out of breath like I'd been running.

I also had a rather strange dream.
There was a giant lazer cut angel/fairy face like you get on the little stands with different coloured lights in the base unit.
Someone had thrown it onto a car and caved in the front and then thrown it into our front garden bit.
We had added 2-3foot of glass on top of the wall so there was glass everywhere.
Mic had said the bike wasn't damaged but when I looked there was a huge chunk missing from the tire and all the sides were smashed in.
We went back inside and the Jingo and PG turned up laughing and joking - they said that this was becoming a habit, last year when they visited someone else that person had trees thrown at the house.

Funnily enough I am shattered this morning ...

I very rarely remember dreams and on the odd occasion I do, they're usually pretty mundane.

In the early hours of this morning, I woke up in a panic after a dream.

I was racing against my older brother. I was in my MR2 and he was in a formula 1 car (a fairly even match ;)). Anyway, for some reason, we weren't on a track - we were in some urban setting with stone buildings and dirt roads. He went flying past me and went skidding around a corner. A few seconds later, I heard a crash and got really worried so I put my foot down hard and went after him as fast as possible. When I got around the corner there was a building with a large ragged hole in the side (presumably where he'd crashed through). I stopped and went into the building - it was a derelict house with walls missing and stuff. I looked around all of the rooms in the house (even upstairs ) but couldn't find him anywhere. In the end, I sat down on some rubble with my head in my hands crying and he suddenly emerged from a pile of rubble on the other side of a broken wall beside me. He came over to where I was, looking damaged but smiling. I was about to embrace him, pleased that he was alive when one of our nieces appeared out of nowhere and ran up to him shouting "Uncle Stephen" really excitedly. I woke up at that point.

Bloody weird :(

I had a dream that myself and a good mate had to go back (to somewhere, no idea where) to visit my family. In the dream, Archie from Eastenders was my grandfather, he was the same character in the dream as he is on TV. He kept telling me I had to come for a pint with him but I was worried that if I did I'd upset or offend the rest of my family as he wasn't well liked. Weird, as in real life I'd not give much thought to offending or upsetting my family to be honest.

Then the dream shifted. Gareth (aforementioned mate) and I went upstairs in this building (not sure what building, it was a bit rickety and had an upstairs section, lots of mess and junk laying around, it was like a slightly run down barn/warehouse type building) He kept telling me about this competition he wanted us to enter.
Whilst describing the rules of the competition the dream shifted slightly - I was now sat on the sofa at home with Kate controlling myself in the dream via my XBOX. I was the sprite in the game, walking through the barn, picking up health/food items like you would in an RPG. Kate was asking why I was picking up so many objects and I told her it was because the controls were hard to master.
The dream shifted back and I was myself in the dream again and Gareth was still describing this fighting contest. He said it was no holds barred wrestling with weapons, which I thought was weird as surely there would be fatalities? Anyway, we chose our weapons, I went for a switchblade which clipped into my wrist like I had an attachment socket......

We went back downstairs and into the back garden - it was huge, full of very tall grass like an African savannah, and it was now pitch dark. There was a large watchtower at the top of the garden made of bamboo which had guards in it and a big square traffic light mounted on it. Gareth explained that when the light went orange you had to shout a code word, if it was accepted you were in the fight and the lights would go green.

So, the light went orange, he shouted a code, the light went green, game on - we ran through the grass and came to a building - just a simple large room like a school gym. There were 2 middle aged women in wrestling outfits on big crash mats, and a referee. Gareth challenged them to a fight and they declined - so the ref said we were automatically through to the next round, so we walked out of there and into the next room - a larger sports hall type affair with various matches happening on these crash mats.
This time the ref gave everyone a briefing, but the rules were mumbo jumbo - there was a chart of wrestling moves that just didn't exist and the ref kept referring to wrestling rules and moves we'd never heard of, the debrief may as well have been in Greek.
Then the ref said there were no weapons allowed either so Gareth had got it totally wrong. Everyone was in spandex type wrestling outfits but we were just wearing normal clothes.
The ref said to remember that the fights at this level were highly unpredictable and that a 4 year old had beaten a former world champion this very evening.

We had to fight a middle aged husband and wife team first. She was quite muscular and odd looking. He was a huge fat red-faced viking character, both dressed in matching yellow spandex outfits.
I stood behind Gareth and we charged the fat guy together and bounced him off the mat, which as far as we could work out meant he was out of the fight, and so was Gareth. So now it was just me against the woman, and she was really good. I kept trying to pin her like you would in a normal wrestling match but that didn't seem to be what you needed to do to win.
She kep laughing all the time and I was painfully aware that we still had no idea what the contest rules were.
The ref waved a laminated card at me which displayed all these oddball moves that would win you a match but I couldn't make head nor tail of it.

Eventually I managed to pick the woman up in the air, and suddenly she was no longer muscular, she was hot, super-hot, and I remember her having amazing legs and porn shoes on. I looked at the ref at this point as I had no idea what to do with her, he pointed at the floor, so I threw her out of the wrestling zone and onto the floor and that seemed to win us the match.

I was amazed we'd somehow fluked the win, and then the ref came over and told us in hushed tones we were a revelation and that we stood a chance of winning the whole tournament at this rate, which made no sense as we were awful!

Then I woke up...

Interpret this!

I am Rob Brydon, the comedian. I have made billions of pounds through the creation of a popular snack which is basically a cinnamon-infused sausage roll. For some reason I choose to live inside the giant microwave reactor that produces them and it is located on a coastal promenade like some sort of odd funfair. I have the balls from the lottery in my desk drawer because I now own Camelot, and proclaim to anyone who visits that it is fixed every week and that I've even lost the number 2 ball. At one point I am swimming in the sea, climb up the cliff and cannot find a path that leads back to the promenade so have to go through the back of a dodgy pub and out of the front to get there. I also visit the supermarket, see loads of old school friends that I haven't seen in fifteen years, and play with a toy that is the top half of Darth Vader which you can pull back and he zips about the place. For some reason I believe this last part to be worthy of writing a book about.
