View Full Version : Bathtime...
This argument keeps cropping up with Daz, so Ive decided to ask the masses, when it comes to bathtime do you prefer...
Lovely hot bath with lots and lots of bubbles, a fizzy bath bomb, and lots of scented candles
...or...
Boring bath, no bubbles, no candles, and under the stark bathroom ceiling light
Reasons for either or please :)

Plain and simple, no candles, bubbles or crap for me. If I'm having a bath rather than a shower it's only because I have to for some reason - I really don't enjoy them so I want in and out asap!

I usually only have baths to really unwind and its a rare occasion that i do so i like it to be nice. I'm a shower person.
I think there needs to be a midway point. What about just some bath additive and nothing else? ie I tend to have a soak when I ache from the gym, hence using Radox "Muscle soak".
So i'm going to have a guess that Daz likes the candles and you are getting upset that he's using them all?

Run bath - water only, get in, wash, get out, dry. No pfaffing about.

Deffo not a "man bath" I want to relax in the bath otherwise I'd just have a shower :D
I agree with Zirax - on the very rare (as in less than once a year) time I decide to have a bath, then I'm not averse to bath additive but that's as far as it goes.

None - Shower ftw !
I hate having a bath, I get in and I'm all like " ooh... aaah" for about 2 minutes and them I'm bored :/

I can think of many ways to not be bored in the bath ;)
I can't sit in the bath for hours but I do like a nice fizzy bath bomb and some candles for a bit.
I do miss the shower now we don't have one though, but I'd rather have a bath than a shower.
I have a shower for washing but a bath for relaxing - bubbles, booze and a book = Mmmmmmm :)
Longest bath to date is about 3 1/2 hours, normal length bath is an hour to an hour and a half :)
Depends on my mood.
Only got a bath here so sometimes I just want a 'functional' bath for washing, and other times I want a relaxing bath to chill out.

Shower every time. Hate baths, you burn your balls when you get in and end up sitting in your own dirt.
Bathtime is meant for two. More than just water, but not loads of candles and bubbles and fizz either.
Showers>Baths
Girly bath for me. It's just more agreeable - though I don't do the candles, just bath foam. Fantastic way to relax, with either some music or a book/magazine, or even a laptop! :p Though for the sake of ecology and rapidity I tend to stick to showers.
I'm in the middle somewhere, but I only really have baths if I'm exhausted and achey. I like do a bubbley bath (can't have any fancy stuff beacuse my skin reacts to most scented stuff), with either candles or duck vader floating around changing colours, but I rarely stay in there for long. I like taking a book to read, but there's never enough warm water to cover all of me, so either my boobs end up getting cold or my knees. Far easier to read in bed :p Maybe I'll feel different when we finally get a nice bathroom :)

due to the lack of voting options, I went with Man bath!
I hate Baths, waste of time.. and water
Much rather have a nice shower and spend more time with the family :D
Bath with bubbles :D Nice and hot, a long soak with a good book.. or company ;)
You need a "down the middle" option.
Or maybe as Garp says above, with company...
Man bath. Cos I'm a man :)
BUBBLES BUBBLES BUBBLES!
Pick and I tend to share a bath (before you think I'm being rudey rood, our bath is TEENY so share as in he'll get in first or I will then the other will get in after)!
It annoys me when Picky gets in first though sometimes.... his hair pops all the bubbles :(
Used to have candles and music and things in the flat... but we had a nice little ledge for that then. Our current bathroom has no ledges as such so unless I want floating candles, which would probably set fire to my foof as I got in, I canny have em :(
BUBBLES AND FUN STUFF FTW! :D
Gotta have bubbles...otherwise whats the point? May as well have a shower :p
Btw... I have millions of bath potions and body lotion I'm working through... whoever invented Body Lotion needs to be nuked from orbit!!! I still have smellies from last Christmas I'm still working through...
If smellies included handwash and toothpaste that'd be great as I wouldn't have to buy it for 2 mths after Christmas...
/rant :p

Only have a shower here, so no baths for me.
But when I did have a tub, it was nice to relax in with a little baking soda and as hot as I could stand. Most excellent way of relieving tired muscles.....
I'm with the man on this one
Now there's an offer that's hard to resist.;):bath:

Since I'm a self confessed womanly man, I like bubble and candles. The kids laugh at that advert where the bloke runs himself a romantic bath. "That's just soooo you Dad" haha
That said, about 2/3 of my bath I have with the Mrs. We have a big corner bath. We can be in there for an hour just talking until our bits start shrivelling!
:)
I can think of many ways to not be bored in the bath ;)
Toy boats!
Baths lost their appeal when I was too old for toys in them. No game of battleships, no point imho :D I don't really do unwind / relax.
Haven't had a bath in ages! Showers for me!
Although at uni, after a rugby game a hot bath was pretty awesome for easing the pain of the bruises....and chicks in baths are hawt, fact. :D
Not into candles or bath bombs but a little drop of bubble bath is enough for me. That way it feels like I'm having a bath and getting clean, rather than just lying inside a tank of water.
My Mum loves her baths, she's like Jamie Oliver when she runs one. Scooting about the bathroom adding ingedients into this giant pot. A slurp of bubble bath, a handful of bath bombs, a pinch of bath salts, a drizzle of baby oil, it goes on and on.

Thats exactly my point :)
And would you look at that? Poll stands at 13 to 7 in my favour! Guess I beat Daz :p
Notice he hasnt stuck his head in here yet, thats because he's been pwned

How about adding a "Shower Only" option for the real men amongst us? ;)
Nay, because the whole point was, if you had no other choice, if you HAD to have a bath, which would it be? :)
Hell, we would both rather have a shower ;D

On the incredibly rare occassions that I actually have a bath (as in about 3 times in the last 10 years) then I prefer the relaxing option....
Of course 2 minutes stood in a shower with scalding hot water cascading onto my back does the same amount of good for my muscles....
I've just come back from an incredibly hardcore heavy weight gym session... hot bubble bath it is!!!! (accompanied by a nice protein shake :p)
hot bubble bath it is!!!!
PICS!!!

I'd choose a shower everytime but if I had to have a bath then it would be a man bath (with the addition of a rubber ducky, yellow submarine and clockwork frog.)
