LOL - how many different versions of that are there now? Still funny though (save possibly for those who went the HD-DVD route).

Oh I didn't realise there were others, first one that I've seen :D

I'm still waiting to see which way this will go but I can't help feel very uncomfortable that the Blu-Ray spec has already been changed making players bought by early adopters obsolete.

Here's another version from the Xbox hacking saga last year...

Same video, different subtitles. See what I mean. :)

Is it PC, 360 or stand alone?

Heh, none of it matters to me much right now. I don't have anything to watch Hi Def on anyways...

360, so a) thankfully it's external and b) it came with 5 free HD-DVDs, so it only cost a few squid. :D

The Blu Ray spec is about to change again - making an ethernet connection required.... guess what? Early adopters screwed again.

YAY!... they will soon have the ability to lock films down to a single player so you can't re-sell them... they'll love that.

Ditto.

I may be wrong but I have a feeling that HD-DVDs are region free and Blu-Ray is region locked?

Mark

Not as far as I'm aware. I don't think the studios would have that (unless that's one of the reasons they're quitting).

They both have the capabilities to be region locked.
Don't know of a single HD-DVD that is.
Bluray's are now starting to be.
