View Full Version : My new old toy
Just got myself a new toy while I can still afford it.
A boxed N64 with 4 control pads, memory pak, expansion pak, Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 for £25.
Pretty much all the best games bar maybe Perfect Dark and Zelda: Majora's Mask :D
Mainly bought it for multiplayer gaming, hoping to meet some people at Uni that like playing games :D
Either way, be fun for me.
Ocarina was better anyway imo, though you're right about Perfect Dark. And very good call with Goldeneye and Smash Bros :D Many an hour spent playing those in my college days

Yeah Ocarina was better.
Goldeneye I used to love, my mate had a n64 so we'd spend all day playing Goldeneye or Perfect Dark until we could see crosshairs everywhere :D
I've never played Smash Bros so looking forward to it. Hopefully Mario Kart's worth a laugh although I've heard it's not as good as the other incarnations.
OMFG! Bargain!!!! :D
I miss the N64, had some cracking games on there

Hehe, Ill teach you how to play Mario Kart like a pro ;)
Anyone got a spare power supply for an N64? vix has the console and a couple of games lying around but the power cable seems to have gone missing at some point in the past.
I found my old N64 in my parents loft a couple of months ago (I thought it had been sold!). All I need now is some free time and some friends to come over and we can do 4 player Goldeneye

I'll come! But I'm crap at computer games (because I never play any) and get really annoyed with them :embarassed:

\o/ I'd have popped in on the way back from the Bikers meet but I didn't go as it was pissing down with rain :(
You would have found an empty house - I'm in NYC.

Cool!
I know you like it there - so it's not too bad :p
Besides it never happened for me anyway - it was crappy weather.
Amazingly I've never played on a Gamecube, a N64, or a SNES for that matter! None of my friends bought them one and I was more into PCs at the time and went Master System -> Megadrive -> NES (Super Mario 3!!) -> Dreamcast -> Xbox!
So haven't really played anything Nintendo since Super Mario 3 & Duck Hunt!
You've got to rectify that sometime :p *points to www.ebay.co.uk* NOW :p
Hehe sorely temping, gotta save the £££s for the BBQ though!!
Am tempted to pick up a Gamecube, so cheap now and want to see what games like Metroid Prime are like having read such good review about them :)
And Resi-4. Never played it myself, but people really seem to sing it's praises.
And Resi-4. Never played it myself, but people really seem to sing it's praises. Hmm, never got on with the Resi games really, don't know why, think the bloody door animation put me off in Resi 1 on the PC :p
I'm the same with Resi games. So I never tried Resi 4 when i had a gamecube.
Metroid Prime is great though :)

Hmm may well take you up on that offer, will discuss at the weekend! :)
You went from a Mega Drive to a NES? :/
I have an N64 that should be pristine but I only have a crap game with it. No Mario 64 or Goldeneye :( There was about a 10 year gap between the two!! Megadrive when I was little, then randomly got given a NES when I was at Uni :p
