You can see it here (http://www.wirralcam.org/waterfront.shtml).

Did it sink? :( :p

Not sure what I'm doing today. Have to pop over the parents' place soon to wake the parrot up (already daylight so he'll be moaning, tough cookie!), then need to clear the flat up as much as poss for wiring of network cables and the loss adjusters' visit monday.

But I'm knackered after only 4 hours sleep so might wake the parrot up by snoring at it ;D

Just come back from the gym, had a shower and am going to pick up my bestest buddy in a bit, because she's come home from Sweden for the week. Haven't seen her in over a year and I'm silly excited!! Meeting up with another of my "home" mates later and we're having a meal/wine/sleep round her house. Woohoo!!! :D xxxx

Just got up as I took sleeping pills last night :o Feeling better for it though :)

Just going to grab a shower, throw some washing in the machine and go for a walk - its actually sunny so even though I have no where to go, I'm going to walk. Times like this I wish I didn't live in such a built up area, or that I could drive so I could get out of the town for a bit.

Had someone's cat follow me half way home last night, across roads and everything. Had to try and scare it away in the end to stop it following me. :'(

Anyway, I'm off out today to do some shopping in this gawjus sunshine (75 minutes walk in either direction - unless I get something too heavy to walk with in which case it's a £8 taxi back), then it's back to attacking the house. Going to try and speed things up and get the new bed in next week.

Its a big pwetty grey one with guns and sailors that can do 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. Honestly, dunno. Its not been mention on the local news sites. Maybe its a stealth boat and no-ones noticed.

I had such a lovely day. Its weird being a photographer. What I love most is simply light. The light today was incredible. It started off with me playing around in the bathroom. Oh ya :D Lots of vapor in the air from the shower. It was like blowing clouds around due to the light coming through the window. Then I went to town and again, stunning light. The way it bounced off buildings, caused rays of lights in town and caused people to glow. It was just lovely. Crisp winter light. I got photos of HMS Bulwark and a lovely couple just by it. I saw a marine and his gf leave the boat so I had to ask for a photo. I was hoping he was returning home after a tour at sea, meeting his gf after months away. Annoyingly they were just visiting friends so the whole romanticism went out the window. I got a lovely photo of them though. I also covered some Chinese New Year events at the museum. Dragons grabbing kids from the audience and trying to eat them. They loved it. The drive home at sunset was stunning. Its funny how much light affects the world. I love lamp... no wait, light :D

Im watching Jaws2, or trying to over the snoring coming from the sofa.

You should talk to MFI about that sofa. I'm fairly sure they're not meant to snore. ;) Today, in an hour, I'll be on the streets of Liverpool doing something stupid. 2 students are filming me doing street photography. Street photography being one of the hardest types for me because it requires you to get close to moments and photograph them. Its hard enough on a normal day, but today I'm being filmed. But then I chose this because its a way of forcing me to push past my fears. I'm already feeling insecure about it because my small 50mm lens is broken and its such a perfect street photography lens because its tiny. I'll look like a paparazzi photographer and feel out of place. Grrr. All I can do is hope the pain from my wisdom tooth blocks all that out :D Which is another bad thing. Only have 2 weeks to fix that before the exhibition which is now just "1 week on Friday" even though its just under 2. 1 week.... Oh and I'm giving a talk on Wednesday night so I can't have this tooth out till Thursday if need be. So yey, pain while being filmed and giving a talk. Oh yeah.

I've got **** all on today so i planned on a Big house work session, trust me it needs it, there is crap everywhere in my house at the mo, All the crap out my old jeep is spread all over the kitchen floor, my Massive dining room table (have a lot of dinner partys then do we Malc :D **** Off ;D) is covered in crap, There is Literally only about enough for one person to sit there with a cup of tea only. My washing up is an unsamountable pile of china & metal  My washing is a pile of festering cheesey not nice man stuff, my whole world is about to collapse around me in a sea of dirty washing & unwashed crockery, I am going to Die if i don't do it today.

Strolled in arond 8:20 (I'm meant to be in for 8), and got a text from my work mate to tell me he's not feeling well so he won't be in till tomorrow, so I'm on my own all day. I decided to crack on with todays work, and instead of it taking all day (a pc rebuild to fix an annoying problem) I figured out the problem inside 2 minutes. Steam cleaning a fan. No, I kid you not. Copious amounts of black stuff came off. Won't help the bedroom clearout, might help my health.

Don't worry, I won't be plugging it in for at least a week, and when I do, it'll be on a breaker and outside. If it don't work, no loss really. :)

Edit - Failed at getting the bedroom sufficiently cleared before going away, so I'll have to ring the company tomorrow and grovel for another week (they did agree I could have the time but was hoping to get it done sooner). I now have a full bin and a pile high enough to fill the bin twice more (three times once I get shredding again). Empty crates at last too - so I have room to put stuff. \o/

Meantime added 2gb of ram to my main pc, making it have 3. Noticed how cheap ddr2 was, and found that's what this thing has, so went for it :D Loads stuff lots quicker now, so looks like a worthwhile feat.

Also scribbling rough network cabling ideas, and have some wall plug things for running cables through. Was hoping they take two cables, but alas only one (and the doubles only take 3, not 4). But hey, they're cheap :)

Was up at the bedroom window pulling remnants of the old net curtain fixings off the wall when *all* the lights (inside and out) go out and there's an almighty flash through the bedroom window. I was waiting for the bang and the shattering glass, but it didn't come (thank god). The flash came from the local electricity substation which is about 30 yards away from my house.

I've spent the day playing on my 360 while watching Top Gear via the Picture in Picture thingy I now love on my TV.

I didn't know you could do that  Must try it when I get home.

I'm in the Med again (not physically in it, but on the rig). Not doing much just now so trying to pass the time spamming forums and basically pfaffing about. I still have 2 1/2 weeks to go and I've already nearly finished my book and all my magazines - when that happens I'll need to stay away from sharp objects :(

We accidentally ended up at a Smashing Pumpkins gig last night and watching the late showing of Juno.. which was ok.

SP's fans are completely nuts though!!!

Been to Bluewater where I tried to take back some boots, but the sales girl ended up giving me half the money back aswell as the boots.

So I now have 2 pairs of boots which are the same but different colours - I am still confused... I may have to 'hide' the second pair so I have a 'new' pair this time next year ;)

So I technically saved £100 on two pairs of boots...hmmm!

Spent most of today watching my Dad drilling holes and running network cable. Only thing I managed was to sort the tub of cable clips when he knocked it over. I felt so useful :o

Most of it's done now. Still need to fit the cable to 2 wall boxes. I'll do that when I can be bothered.

Gonna start series 6 of men bheaving badly now. It hurts to laugh, but what the heck.

I'm trying to recover from this weekend. Drove my sister to Feltam Friday night, stayed over night had a curry (not that nice) and got drunk. Slept on the floor in a hotel room which was not comfortable at all. Drove back home Saturday about 11ish in the morning. Sunday relaxed and I then drove back down south to drop my sister off at Heathrow followed by driving straight back (about 100 and something miles each way). I'm now on my last legs so gonna get some shut eye for a bit.

Tomorrow is Hove via Colchester. At least Leytonstone was SOUTH. I get to go the wrong way first tomoz!

Oh, and got to watch the shenanigans at the dartford tunnels today. They were closed briefly after a lorry did something bad (not sure what, but it smelt a little of burning).

I was the first person not to get let through so had to sit at the barrier for a while nattering to the lady in the booth.

Was quite wierd having a totally M25 to play with when they finally started letting people through. Damn having a tracker, could have had great fun!

Then i am going to walk Frank, I love walking him when i am messed up as i just drift of & we wander about chatting to whatever random i bump in to.
We have some Graet characters on my dog walk route. There is this women that pushes her mum up the local shop i see about quite a bit. The pusher looks about 40'ish but i found out the other day she is 55  The old biddy in the chair who looks like one of those finger puppetts is about 83
I see them down town yesterday & crepted up behind them & then Shouted COME ON GET A BLOODY MOVE ON WITH THAT THING WILL YA!!!! ;D
They love it as i don't think many people shoot the breeze with them. I found out that the pusher has only been coming out of her house since her Ma has been in the wheelchair  Weird family obviously but i don't care who you are I am talking to you :p
I also have the standard being dragged along by my dog women everybodys got, You know the sort, Dog dragging her towards you wagging its tail, her trying to stop it all flustered with legs spread but still being dragged along :D
She is really funny to watch.
Today will be a Funny day for me, I was booked in to help my mates Mum with some Tree felling yard sorting as she is a recent widow & needs the support/help. But that's been put of as the skip didn't turn up. I've helped her before a few weeks ago it's mad & a real eye opener. This lovely old women has been with her man all her life & now he has died. The aftermath of sorting through a mans life long possesions when you are hurting inside must be tuff for anyone let alone a frail old lady in her senior years :(
I'm happy to help me & it's nice being around her having some Banter & helping her out. Perfect cups of teas, Brilliant bacon sarnys & a warm heart is my reward

Spent the weekend back around my parents place, had to go back and sort some stuff out. Left the house on Saturday ridiculously early (7am), cycled over to London Bridge (6+ miles through the city, woo, fun.) then perched on my bike for the 50 minute journey down. Went home, dumped some stuff off, got a few initial bits sorted out then cycled over to see Kari at the missions base she's working at. Forgot that although its only 4 miles, 3 1/2 miles of it are up hill. Took me about 40 mins. I've gotten rather used to cycling through fairly flat London. Popped over to Crawley and got some shoes, then chilled out for the afternoon meeting the folks she's working with at the base, watched Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy in the evening projected onto a large wall.. Great movie and we all joined in with Karaoke during the credits "So long and thanks for all the fish, so sad that is should come to this"..
Woke up early on Sunday and started getting the bits done I'd primarily come down to do, finished around 4 o'clock, popped over to see Kari for a couple of hours and then headed back up to London.
Went to bed early but got kinda caught up reading about McCarthyism on wikipedia.

How good is the filter on you vac? Might be worth having that running with the nozzle pointing at where you're working. Ideally you want a hepa filter on it.

Mark
01-03-2008, 18:44
Not great. It's supposed to be hepa but I suspect the seal isn't as good as it could be now given the vac's age. I may well use the vac to shift the worst of it though - good idea. I'll be vaccing and possibly steam cleaning the carpet as soon as I get chance.

The air filter is supposed to be hepa as well. I'm going to replace the filter in it once this is all over as I'd imagine it's a bit clogged by now. :)

I had SO much to do yesterday and ended up spending the day going round in circles and achieving pretty much nothing.

First off, my folks are away so I had to feed the cats.... only I realised that I'd left their keys in the hire car I had on Wednesday  so I had to drive into Leics to fetch them.

Tried to fire up Mum's old computer for the last time to back-up Sage and her Ancestry progs, and the motherboard made that beautiful electric fire smell and died. Bought the wrong HSF from PC World (didn't open it though, phew!) and had to go out and get another. Couldn't get the HSF on the motherboard because I'm a wimp. Had to get a new PSU and then a new case because the current case is too bloody small. Finally got round to installing Windows and then got drunk :D Woke up at 4am because of the wind outside and I'm now posting in safe mode whilst I "take control" of all the folders on the old hard drive. I'm just praying that Sage/Historian are recoverable :/

So, to make up for the COMPLETE waste of yesterday, today I need to get ingredients for meal tonight and general food shop, cook bits in advance and make soda bread, tidy/clean house, finish making Mum's apron, finish comp rebuild and make meal for tonight. All plans of going to the gym are out the window! Today is going to be busy :D

Last night I went to Dans Le Noir. Its a restaurant where you eat in the dark.

Not dark - PITCH BLACK!!!

It was great - they had a Morrocan menu that evening, which I was a bit dubious about as I don't know what I am eating when I eat Morrocan in the daylight, but it was delicious!

Very bizarre - one of those things you do once... especially when the bill came to £40 :/ and that was with a non alcoholic cocktail which was a fiver!

The waiters are all blind people so they work the darkness better than seeing people and they guide you everyway, but it must be very frustrating for them as this is their life but to us its a 'novelty' :(

Very interesting evening... then we went to Tinseltown 24 Hour Diner for milkshake!! :D

Currently in work enjoying Youtube now that the council have given myself and the rest of the techs free reign over the internet and nothing is blocked any more. Also playing with VMware and trying to set up a virtual server and a workstation to connect to it. Just keeping myself busy as there's really not a whole lot to do currently. :)

I read in a magazine not too long ago about a restaurant where they give you headphones and you choose sounds to listen to during your meal - like the seaside and stuff like that. Sounded interesting.

I'm looking forward to getting off the rig on Thursday and home on Friday. Have ordered Tesco stuff to arrive Friday evening and have plans for Saturday night and Sunday. Beyond that, not much - just chillin' for the first week home probably.

Busy busy busy busy. Guardian wants a TON of shots for some article they're doing on Liverpool. I think I'm going to have to take the whole of Wednesday off to sort things. Hopefully my sister will be ok with that as she's covering the gallery. Still a fair amount of stress and it doesn't help things when I read about a recent horror stories regarding the Guardian n copyright. Oh my gawds its cold too.

I'm sitting hear spamming trying to get my mate out of my mind. I found out at the weekend that she died of an OD & it's been on my mind ever since. She was my Madonna, That won't mean much to you lot but i have a habit of associating X girlfs with famous people. Kim had a body & hair like maddy & bought me that Silver book maddy done years ago with the pics in it. She was a lovely decent girl with proper parents & as i think back now we would sit cuddled up on her bed in her pink room that hadn't changed since she was a little girly getting proper wasted, Of course normal people would have been playing tunes or doing homework but not us we had other places to go :(
Her Ma would shout her from the bottom of the stairs and have a tray of Tea & Bickys for us the whole scene is so surreal now when i look back on it.
Now she is another name on my long list of dead people i once new loved & cared for :'(

R.I.P. Kim.

That's so sad Malc :( What a tragic waste.

I got back from a rather long day at work about an hour ago. Left just before 5am for Castleford (just north of Wakefield I think). Did a full 8 hour shift (with the threat of a HSE visit hanging over, and I found half the kit on site was out of calibration ) then home again.

Me tired...

edit: HSE = Health and Safety Executive btw :) And they can cause big trouble if they find anything wrong with an asbestos removal project. And being that this is a big job in a hospital that's still active, and is pipe lagging which is one of the worst to remove...).

I'm just sitting chilling having a few Reefas, Was on my sexobx for a bit, Not been on for a while so had a rash of PGR4, Nearly into the 5 figures on my rep points :D Am still Nub though.

Today i have been mostly paying bills. TV Licence (*****), Water, BB/TV/HousePhone, Petrol in jeep, tick bill :'(
Hit me so hard i had to get a Double decker & a Star Bar for a quick Choccy fix. Been helping me Sister on & off all week with tip runs, garden clearances moving crap about etc. Seen a few friends & spent a little more time with my nice local mates this week as i was in need of some closeness.
A few visits round my mate Rob/Jane/Chloe/Jarrins house gave me that family closenss matey feeling again so I am all good :)

I've had a great week with the Ladys  I'm courting the 2 fittys & playing it Uber cool which is Superb as there's Loads of banter & chat & flirting.
I had my spontaneous rendevous mid week with an Easy Rider & i am being Yawped at by passing female motorists so there's life in the old dog yet :D

I am particularly proud of myself this week as well but it's a bit hard to explain why as to you it would mean nothing. I'm trying to think of an analogy that would fit the bill. Basically i got my balls out & put them on this blokes desk this week real Humble like. Like a statement to him & to other business men i know that Now is the time to Employ me. I have had good responce from doing this & the word back is that a few are Mighty impressed that I did it & how i did it :)

Well last night me, Rob and some people from work went to watch St Helens vs Hull FC. Shocking performance by the saints to start with but things got better and we romped to the hooter leading 22-14. Second half faired similar to the first (bad tackling and a drop goal) we ended up 28-28 with around a minute left. Thankfully Hull were very helpful and handed us a penality for not standing square and Matty Smith kicked for the sticks and we won 30-28..phew!

wellllll it feels like it's been a long week. i've started working on a different part of my job - treatment planning, rather than treatment delivery and it's a real change - it's very interesting, very challenging and a lot of responsibility - been working 7am-5pm days (ish) and getting home and falling asleep on the sofa - so loads to do this weekend :O

got up early this morning to put a wash on, 8am this morning had a driving lesson, got home and made my man breakfast in bed - when the second loads of washing is out i'll have a shower and then we'll probably spend the day noodling around in town (i have to go to the bank and sort out monies and what to do with it - yawn) then have a quiet evening in, watching films with the bunnies, and tomorrow its all about the housework and joining the gym :D
