This morning I went to the gym, then I did a bit of pruning in the garden and Leon helped me tear down 2 fence panels in our garden (they're rotten and need replacing). Then I filled my brown garden waste bin with cuttings from the horrible prickly bush I'm trying to get rid of and pulled lots of weeds and unwanted plants up.

This afternoon I'm going to finally install the new HDD on my computer, install windows and start transferring everything across. Then I've got to re-format my uncle's PC. And then I might make a lemon cake and cook sardines for tea.

Tomorrow... god knows! I can barely cope with what today has to offer :p

Busy cat indeedy.
I've fished around for something to do next week to keep me busy & am going to sort my little Sisters back yard out. It's full of rubbish & broken things & all sorts of trash & junk. Fifty trips to the tip & some hard graft should sort it :p
Home cooked meal plus making my little cousin Brookes' back garden fit for use is my reward

At the moment Lynnie's dad is here putting in a shower for us as there wasn't one in the house when we got in. That means that although I'm currently on the laptop, I'm listening out for any shouts as I'll help if/when I'm needed. I've also set up our Sky modem as it finally arrived today, and I've put the 360 on the network so I'm finally back on Live again.

When Lynnie's dad has left I'll be setting up our new 42" TV which arrived today, as well as moving the new tumble dryer into place. Then it'll be a takeaway with Lynnie's mum and a film on the new TV :D Then I plan on kicking ass on Call of Duty 4 online when Lynne has gone to bed :D

Tomorrow I may well set up the computer and start copying the important stuff to the external drive as I've got a new SATA drive to put in as well as a wireless network card. When that's done it'll just be the simple but laborious job of installing the new hard drive, installing Windows XP, and re-installing all of our programs and updates. Thankfully the laptop means we won't be without the internet so I can take my time with that :)

Spent the morning cleaning both rat cages out - Cmot is currently sulking as he had fallen asleep with his butt in chicken noodles so his fur was all yellow and sticky so I threw him in the sink ;D He didn't actually seem to mind too much at the time but he knows if he sulks he'll get treats later :o

Had a friend come round and collect some boxes as she is moving house soon.

Also friends are down from Manchester; Paul is heading back later this afternoon so he is here atm showing Mic how to play Hellgate London.

Had a text from Loz who might be popping in later as she is in Southsea.

Have a sh*tty headache which started last night and won't go away :(

Cooking pork loins with minted new potatoes and steamed veg tonight and will be watching CSI: NY.

No plans for tomorrow as yet (unless I've forgotten something) but I think I'll have to go to the shops to find something for dinner at some point.

This morning popped down to Bromley to pick up a freebie engine. No head on it but the timing bits are useful. The rest will go to the scrapper.

Currently trying to figure out why my stupid HCPC is still refusing to pick up any hard drives. Getting a tad fed up with it now

And shortly I'm off to the pub for a bit of a reunion.

Tomorrow I'm working.

Wow people have been either super busy or super chilled! Tis goooooooood!

This morning I did some playing with the Trio (Picky and I have been working on "stay" today... she's getting it quite well, albeit very distracted by all sorts of noises in the garden!)

Read up some more on dog training and things (read Kittens veeeeeeery helpful email - at somepoint hun I will collar you on MSM and get some more info out! Thank you so so much though! Really interesting read and by the sounds of things... we're on the right tracks! YAY!)

I then cleaned the kitchen, played some more, did lunchy and a sudoku thingy and have just finished the ironing (which I have been doing whilst watching Rick Stein and Naked Chef!)

Been thumbing my way through a cook book and have now popped online to see what's on with people, so nice to see this thread :)

Next plans... possibly a poota game (not done this in a while... wanna see if xbox live will let me play poker... didn't like me last time :( ) Then some cooking (Roast chicken with Marmite marinade! First time trying it... looking forward to it!) Then hopefully I will be watching an episode of Heros and fiiiiiiingers crossed... Top Gun for the first time! YAY!

Tomorrow = part time work at Sainsburys, then have the web designer dude coming over to finalise some bits in prep for it being up and running next week. (About blooming time!)

Big love to all, and thank you for all your texts this weekend! They've made me smile uber amounts :) xx

Last night went to Spice Girls concert at O2 - it was WICKED!!!! We were right next to the stage (upload photos later) :D slept in till 1030 :D

Then this morning I went for a run and did some skipping when I came back (I SWEAR it was easier when I was 7 :p) then I called Orange and fixed my bloody internet.

Went to Halfords to return the overalls that didn't fit my brother - God knows where I am going to get another pair as they were the biggest they did!

Posted a letter to my Freehold company and had a bath  as I haven't had hot water for two months and it got fixored yesterday woot!

Going to tidy my crap up and then have something to eat before getting ready to go out for Chantal's birthday :)

Tomorrow...sleep in and see Roberto :D! I have a cheesecake recipe, but am thinking about postponing it till next weekend...

Today I had a meeting with 2 film students who want to document me. Thats going to be interesting. I'm about as professional as a piece of lettuce. Should be a laugh though. I just have to remember not to ask a model to imagine a diamond cock ring and I'll be fine. Went for a walk around town and got some photos for a book. Watched new Stargate Atlantis and I'm now typing this reply. Soon I shall be listening to music and browsing the photos.

Tomorrow I shall be visiting a mates exhibition, getting photos and planning my exhibition.

Today went to Parcel Force to pick up some tools, and had a look in the local race/ rally shop as we were down that way.

Came home and got the track car brakes changed over. I didn't help much, managed to undo 5 bolts with the help of Phil and took a clip off all on my own :/ Then I was generally the fetcher of things Phil needed.

Think I'm gonna go in the bath now! Want something nice for tea but dunno what.

Tomorrow it's more working on the track car, and if the weather is nice I'm going to clean him.

Kell and me are having a blokes night tonight - consisting of curry, beer and movies (Alien vs Predator and Demolition Man) with a bit of Wii Sports thrown in for good measure :D

Doing not much. A bit of work (boo), getting the address book sorted for the new home phones (transferred relevant contacts off the mobile onto an old SIM card which then goes into the base station), then getting everything charged. Will install them tomorrow.

Going to do a little shopping (if it isn't raining - one hour walk each way) and tidying tomorrow.

Just got back from my reuinion. Basically my 2nd cousin used to run a local-ish pub. He gave it up a couple of years back to concentrate on his outside bars business which had taken off with a bang. It was an opportunity to get all the regulars back together (at a different pub run by one of his former staff as the old pub is crap now!).

Shame I had to leave early cos working tomorrow :( But one former regular made a suprise visit to say Hi. Keith Flint. Fortunately didn't get a chance to re-match at pool. I think I'm still 2-1 up ;D

Well I have just returned from a fun afternoon/evening at my friend Ian's house :)

We started by playing silly buggers with his old PC (a P2, 333MHZ system with 348(I KNOW)MB of RAM and a 2MB ATI RAGE GFX card.... We installed XP on it and it seems happy :p Have texted Huddy (which he's not replied to) about seeing if he has any spare parts which can be bought off him for it...

After that we played a fair old amount of Resident Ebil : The Umbrella Chronicles on his Wii (the Wii Zapper is sooooooo cool :D), before his lovely girlfriend served up a fantastic lasagne which we enjoyed with a lovely glass of Merlot each and followed it up with some awesome chocolate cheesecake :)

Tomorrow I shall mostly be playing EVE (needs must I spend 3.5bn on minerals to build stuff) and probably continue working my way through Angel (halfway through season 3 at the moment :))... I may also install the lovely HDD which Kate sent me :)

Then I have work on Monday :/

Went out this morning at 10 to go to work.
Got to work to find out that thanks to Lloyds TSB overpaying me for two months then subtracting it all this month, that my monthly pay was £22.99 this month.
Was at work till 8pm, got home at 9ish.
Felt obliged to eat even though I wasn't hungry. Watched some show with Paul Merton in, which took twice as long to watch thanks to being in and out of the loo. Then watched a DVD of Lee Mack live. Just about to go to bed although my stomach is still doing flipflops :/
Then tomorrow is pretty much the same as above but hopefully with no stomach problems and probably not the same TV shows :p

Think I might have finally realised my bed isn't going to last the six months I'd hoped. *bang*. Oops. Its much the same reason people nick traffic cones (or stagger down the street in a stupor trying to use them as megaphones) - ultimately entirely pointless but when asked 'it seemed funny at the time'.

Someone did similar to us.
Our post box was a hole in the wall next to the drive and someone pulled the shutter/facade off it. It's shared by us and our elderly neighbour and she was quite upset about it.
I ended up putting new boxes up by our respective front doors and cementing in the old slots.
It's better really as we don't get bits of rubbish in our postbox anymore.

I'm listening to Bristol Vs Cardiff Blues right now. We (Bris) need a 4 try win to have any chance of making the quarter finals. 30 minutes gone. Still 0-0, with a try a piece ruled out for forward passes.

Saw some odd things including a group of people who'd just finished painting "Do you believe in God" on the side of a building. This was like 2 feet tall lettering at the top of the building. Not sure whats going on there. Lugged my laptop around as I was going to chill in FACT cafe all afternoon but it was closed when I arrived. Silly cafe. Hypoglycemia attacked so I grabbed munchies and walked back to the car park. All cafes need free wifi and to not close early on Sunday.

After trying my very best to break my bed even more than it was broken before vacuuming copious dust from behind a cupboard, I installed my new home phones (old ones have knackered batteries again, and the base has a knackered speaker). Then got lazy while researching bed stuff. :o

Well I've been quite busy lately with various things; firstly I've become a bit obsessed with genealogy and thats taking up quite a bit of my spare time, I've been using online resources mostly but I've managed to trace a lot of my lines back to around 1800 and a few back further than that. Using things like genesreunited you can contact people who match your tree so I've been in touch with a few people from around the world who are part of my distant family which is pretty cool :)

The other thing we've been doing is trying to plan a big holiday this year, we haven't done anything really exciting foreign holiday wise since we got married and its something we've always talked about so we're researching that, its looking like it might be a Tiger Safari or a tour of Northern India in an organised tour but using public transport and visiting more out of the way places as well as more touristy places like Dehli, neither of us have been there before so its pretty exciting. If we don't do India it will probably by South America.

I've finally told my boss (my dad) that I no longer want to be a sales rep. I explained that I stuck it out for a year to see how it went and by the end of the year I felt like I never wanted to go into work. So we talked and I'll be carrying on till April when a bonus comes through. So between now and then I need to save as much as possible so I can buy a car as the company car and phone will be taken off me :(

Not done anything with the latter besides inspect for damage and check it powers on (which it does).

I have an D830, nice bit of kit. What resolution screen did you get?

Nice one Mark

I heart my 820 muchly. Seen a few 830's come into work, and it certainly looks like they're continuing to do a pretty good job with this series.

Chassis: Dell D830
OS: Vista Business (shame it's the 32-bit version - would have preferred 64-bit).
CPU: Intel T7700 (2.4GHz, 4MB L2)
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 160GB (hope it's 7200rpm - sounds like it might be)
Gfx: Quadro NVS 140M
Screen: 1680 x 1050 (1280 x 800 would have done - unlikely to run it higher)

Got the whole lot for £850 (that spec is somewhere around £1400 new).

I'm having a tough week. Yesterday we did missing persons (ok), sudden deaths and delivering agony messages (meh!). Today we covered child abuse/abduction/cruelty and indecent assaults, with special attention paid to the finer details of the Victoria Climbie case (sorry to swear but...**** me :( Unimaginable horror) Tomorrow we are looking at the effects of indecent assaults, marching and I have to pass another fitness test despite not training for over 10 weeks. Thursday we're off to the mortuary to see dead people and learn how to deal with them, Friday RSPCA input and the domestic violence input starts.

Sometimes you just need to come home to a hug and have a good cry.....chocolate is filling the gap quite nicely!! *biffa*

Oooh they'll be dead good at that. Plus, if they come to life you'll have a Hot Fuzz / Shaun of the Dead cross over type thing. Dead Fuzzy.

Shoot went well. Meeting went well. Missed the afternoon event due to the time it took to sort this mornings photos. So come 4pm's meeting I get a call half way though asking for landscape and I just didn't have very many. So I'm hoping I didn't cock that up completely as it would be nice to get more work. Good Luck.

This afternoon I was mostly walking. Undoubtedly all the good work since undone by food, but meh. ;D

Anyway, posted off a box for Treefrog (cost £2 more than I'd hoped but £10 less than it would if I hadn't walked), then picked up train tickets for Liverpool. They charge you 50p for the priviledge of collecting your own tickets - from a machine. The sheer cheek of it! Mind you, I thought the machine was going to print an entire deck of playing cards for me but fortunately it stopped after 7. :D

Tomorrow, if the weather is friendly, I shall be walking more to redo the good work done before the bad today, and shall be bugging lots of salesmen for as long as I can get away with without actually giving them any money. I suppose I might end up, eventually, giving one of them some money, but I'll take some convincing first. Then, I shall be decimating a pile of paper and probably spilling the results everywhere. No doubt the shredder will overheat several times, as it usually does.

Paula - Make sure you're drinking lots of water and get yourself to the doctors on an emergency appointment next time it's open. I had a kidney infection that the doctor misdiagnosed as backache and nearly had to go to hospital in the end. He told me to rest with a hot water bottle on it. The heat + the infection made it MUCH worse until I could barely make it to the doctors. I nearly fainted in the waiting room because it was so painful. Another doctor diagnosed it almost straight away and I spent the next 2 weeks on antibiotics, spaced out on painkillers. Not a pleasant thing to have at all, because there's no relief from it.

http://www.lostkat.co.uk/IMG_4847.jpg

HOORAY!!! The garden AND the drive both look about 3 foot wider. How does that work?? The posts are long because my Grandad is making us some trellis to go along the top so that I can grow clematis, roses and other climbing plants up the fence. Dead chuffed. I never thought we'd get all that done in a day!! :D

EDIT
This is how it looked before. It was actually worse than that last weekend when we finally took the two worst panels out. They were at a 45 degree angle into the drive, hehe. Yes the blue string is holding it up :D

Was going to go out and look at carpet today but after the incident last night I'm still a bit sore, so didn't. Got about half done before the shredder conked out, the rest to follow soon as it'll have cooled down now and I want this batch done tonight.

In emptying the box, I found my long-lost birth certificates (they're now safe, in the place they should have been all along). \o/ Glad I checked everything before shredding.

Anyway, in addition to the ongoing chuck-out (currently have an 18x9 inch 'bale' of shredded paper with another one due tomorrow), I've been baulking at my £90 insurance premium hike.

So, I took my business elsewhere. £75 less than I am already paying and £165 less than I would be paying, plus £85 quidco. Sorted. \o/

After trying to drive around Nottingham this morning I have come to the conclusion that, Nottingham sucks for driving. The sat nav couldn't keep up with all the changes the council have made to the roads so spent a good 30 minutes trying to find my customer. Did have plans today, Jobs to do, deals to be done, motors to look at. I'm going to walk Frank & give the outdoors a test drive before i decide whether i am leaving my house or not today
I am ok with the Cold, I like crisp mornings but my house can't handle temps below -1c, I bet it's warmer outside than it is in here. I have everything me & Frank need though so i don't mind Plotting up for the day & doing everything via phone or Interweb. Currently in Thermals with my dressing gown as well, I wish large towelling dressing gowns were acceptable outdoors attire, Nothing is as warm & comfy as my Huge towelling dressing gown with next pulled up

Tempted to pop into town at some point today, but as Malc said it's cold outside, not much snow though. Could do with picking a couple of bits up and making an appointment at the opticians for a delayed checkup. I've spent a few hours documenting an Irish military parade through Liverpool. It was really nice to see people turn out and cheer for them. They had returned from a tour in Iraq. Lots of photos to sort through. It was freezing and yet sunny clear blue skies. So much for the 60% of snow we were meant to get. Now that would have been a photo. Got to spend the afternoon deleting old work before I can do the new stuff... boooo.

Me, I'm sneezing my head off *achoo*. I've only shifted one big pile of stuff so far but even that is revealing dust bunnies aplenty. Running an air purifier to help remove dislodged dust from the atmosphere.

Didn't make nearly as much progress as I'd have liked, but still made some, so it's not all bad. Primarily due to too many distractions but also because I'm currently facing a problem - because I have so much stuff I currently don't really have good places to put things I want to keep so I'm struggling. I hope I'll eventually get to the point that I've thrown enough stuff out that I can at least use storage boxes. Arguably I'm not being brutal enough chucking stuff out, but I'm sure I'll get there.

I'd love to be able to get into my loft, so much space up there (because of the design of the property I have an above-average sized loft). Unfortunately I'm scared ****less of either falling through or not being able to get down. If there was someone else here I'd be happier, but there isn't. It'd solve so many of my problems. :'(

As it is, the chances of me watching the videos again is pretty slim, and I have most of them on DVD anyway. Is there really any point in keeping them?

Anyway, I got ****ed off with it all. Half an hour later the video box wasn't in the bedroom anymore. Don't even ask me to go into the lounge at the moment, or to bed, because I can't do either, but I can soon sort that. :)

Mark
03-02-2008, 17:31
Aye, getting a decent loft ladder in (I've seen one I like but it's not cheap) and some boards down would certainly help me out lots. The other problem I have with my loft is just how scary hot it gets up there as soon as it gets a decent amount of sun on it.

Today I'm going to be locked in the attic like an unwanted step child :(

And I'm out...

Moved 4 filing cabinets, managed to drop the empty one on my foot :o Moved a rainforest worth of paper about. Read records, checked dates, marked up when we can start destroying stuff. Jarred my back stacking the archive boxes. Created lots of recycling. Have stacks of stuff to shred tomorrow. Feel like I've been in the gym all day instead of at work - I don't think a single bit of me doesn't ache, but its the good ache of knowing everything is done for another year :)

Whilst locked up there alone for 8 hours, my mind began to wander and I have come up with a theory...

1. Trees are alive.

2. Paper is made from trees.

3. Paper retains the "treeness" from when it was once a tree (it can do this because of point 1)

4. Part of "treeness" is being *uckin' heavy

Therefore

5. When you are shifting boxes of paper, you are essentially shifting boxes of trees

6. You are therefore allowed to b*itch about how much you ache after doing it all day

(the above is also a demonstration of why I shouldn't be left on my own too long :o ;D )

Your argument seems sound to me. :)

Me - Regained access to the lounge last night. Today, lifted two crates of stuff out of the pile to sort. Hoped they'd be full of magazines that I could just deposit in the recycling bin, but that wasn't to be so they'll take a little longer to sort. Still want to try and do it by Thursday though so may take a half day off or something.
